Really depressing song about homesickness. The only thing that's annoying about Frank Turner is the fanbase. They're all a bunch of indie pricks.

Of all the mid/late nineties American Punk bands, The Offspring are the most grown up (in more ways than one) and write more intelligent music. Like this, about the death of a loved one.

I am buying that CD.

Thankyou, Judas, My Guide.

My personal first choice is a rather hard one to find: "Time To Say Goodbye (Con Te Partíro) - Sarah's Intimate Version," a solo by Sarah Brightman. Nothing against Andrea Bocelli or any other singers or duets in general, but really you have to hear that solo version. It's for sale as an MP3 [http://www.amazon.co.uk/Time-Goodbye-Partiro-Solo-Version/dp/B00265OHN8/ref=sr_tc_2_1?ie=UTF8&s=music&qid=1282074442&sr=1-2-entd] or available on the Classical 2009 [http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00265JI3W/ref=dm_att_alb1?ie=UTF8&qid=1282074652&sr=1-16] or the Classics [http://www.amazon.co.uk/Classics-Us-Sarah-Brightman/dp/B00005RD78/ref=sr_1_20?ie=UTF8&s=music&qid=1282074652&sr=1-20] albums.

Holy ____! FOUND IT!

Silence the room, click, close your eyes and just listen.

Damm you beat me to it, but yeah both that song and Reborn are amazing.

Well I guess I should post my own, so these two should do.

Oh lawd, got a longass list of those.

Namely, everything by Sigur Ros, most stuff by Johnny Cash starting from the American recordings and everything of his released thereafter, just about everything by Mogwai, lots of stuff by The Church, lotsa This Will Destroy You, everything by Explosions in the Sky, everything by Jonsi and Alex, and a handful of songs by Train. But, for sake of brevity, the list of ten, in no order other than grouped by artist:

Svefn-g-Englar by Sigur Ros. [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8L64BcCRDAE] (this is definitely my #1 if I had to pick)

Hoppipolla, also Sigur Ros. [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_EyI4p0yjDQ] (watch the video for this if nothing else on this list)

We're No Here by Mogwai. [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yROEbbe9yxM] I grant this is more of the sad-beautiful.

Auto Rock, also Mogwai. [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jLFd6k1BHDk]

You Are My Sunshine by Johnny Cash. [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FQ9oIIzMrlA]

Happiness by Jonsi and Alex. [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X4j-4FElT8E] If you like this, look up the rest of their stuff. Chances are you'll lost just about all of it.

The Only Moment We Were Alone by Explosions in the Sky. [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nzj-ksNOMfU] Only because I can't really post a link to "the entire album", which is so much awesomer than any one song on it, and god damn is that a feat.

The Birth and Death of a Day, also Explosions in the Sky. [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ltQqPJ5A2BI] Different album than the last.

Drops of Jupiter by Train, [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Xf-Lesrkuc] because if you don't like this song you are not a human being. Or are a Juggalo. Or a complete and total metalhead.

When I Look to the Sky also by Train. [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KipSEcE6gGM&playnext=1&videos=ftoo8qk0y_w&feature=artistob]

So there's my representative ten (not quite "top ten"). Enjoy.

ADDENDUM AND A BIG ONE: Gondola no Uta, [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uVYKroONpZI] specifically the rendition of it in Akira Kurosawa's Ikiru. It's a sad but beautiful song, and in the film it gains a new level. Sorry about the quality on the video, it's the only one I could find of the movie's version of the song.

Comptine D'un Autre Ete L'apres Midi. It's a very nice song, and if you know how to play piano it is quite easy and fun to learn.

Thie title specifies songs, so I will add this as the most beautful song I have ever heard. Liz Triangle is so underrated it isn't even funny.

- The Dreamer, The unwoken fool. In dreams no pain will kiss the brow, the love of ages fills the head, the days that linger there in pray of Emptiness, of burned out dreams, the minutes calling through the years. The Universal dreamer rises above his earthly burden, high on a hill in Eldorado.

I swear, as soon as I can throw down $50 for the Escapist, I'll make my signature "Major E.L.O. Fan", but for now, this will have to do.

I love too much music to provide just one, but I'm too lazy to look up others. There are plenty great works of classic music both by the recognized masters like Beethoven or Mozart and less known composers.

Not to mention all the modern musical movements. And I'm a fan of practically good half of them.

What, another E.L.O. fan and no "Yours Truly" or "Ticket to the Moon"!?

Those are probably two of my most favorite songs by Electric Lights Orchestra... And not just because I only own the "Time" album >_<
