Sonic: Is it time?

OK, I have never played a Sonic game, save about five minutes in multiplayer for the one all about Shadow being good or evil... I don't know, whatever. Anyway, I do know that the old games were awesome, but it seems like after the SEGA Dreamcast, Sonic started to lose heat. I think by now it can die peacefully, but they won't let that happen. In my opinion, if you don't have any fuel left, don't tend the fire. I say let Sonic die quietly leaving a fresh memory of awesome games rather than spoiling the franchise and letting the market drown the game itself. Unfortunately for Sonic fans, it seems like the recent games have been, excuse my language, pretty shitty. What do you think, Escapist?

Secondly, no, I don't want to see Sonic die, not when it looks like they're just about to make the Sonic game they SHOULD HAVE made years ago with Project Needlemouse. Even Sonic Team, the retards they are, know how to make a good 2D Sonic game. For all we know, a 2.5D game might save the Sonic franchise.

Sonic is one of the gaming legends, he has been around alot longer than most game hero's. Are you truly thinking its right to get rid of sonic for good and get him replaced with even more crap these days?
