Sonic Team Isn't Making Sonic 4

Well it's been clear for quite some time now that Sonic Team no longer wants to work on Sonic games.
This is great news... I just wish Sonic 4 was coming out in it's entirety on a GAME DISC... preferably with some retro black and gray "Genesis" grid border graphics around the cover.
I'm sure they'll do it several months after all the episodes are released... I'll probably hold out for that. That way I can set it line next to my original Genesis games and feel bad for geeking out over it. :3
Let's just keep in mind that when this is out and being awesome, and Sonic Team releases the next gimmicky 3D gameplay Sonic game... we ignore that one and consider it non-canon.

I am sick of my brother talking about this game like Sega is going to invoke the second coming and have sonic rise from the grave.
So, in the practice of Carlin-esque cynicism; I have a message for sonic fans tentatively waiting for this title;
He's dead folks, He's very dead. It's been "Weekend At Bernie's" for years now. You guys complain and cry every time a new game comes out, and now you guys are crying because his eyes are no longer dilated-black but a nice green? You people don't know what you want, you want another sonic game, but you want it to be Sonic 2? That style of game is dead, and sonic sunk with it. The only reason Mario is still being sold is that their fans aren't finicky, confused lemmings.

I'm still questioning this game's potential to be good. I actually like some of the other characters in the Sonic games (mostly just Tails, Knuckles, and Shadow).
Also, it looks TOO much like Sonic advance and so on. I would rather they take the idea of the 2D parts from Sonic Unleashed and make levels based off those parts alone and cut out the rest of the Sonic Unleashed game.
As for the episodic thing, I'm not really sure what's going to be going on with that.

Funnily enough I like the irea of the rush guys being behind this, but just Sonic? He's one of my least favourite characters (not that he has a character), so no thanks.

All the people that made the original Sonic 2D games for the MegaDrive/Genesis almost two decades ago left the SonicTeam many many many years ago and personally, anything the current SonicTeam touches turns into shit so I am glad that they don't get anywhere near Sonic 4.

You see, the original Sonic Team that made the genesis and dreamcast games left SEGA years ago. The current Sonic Team are a bunch of people that had no experience whatsoever when they started. The most notable titles they made were Sonic Heroes, Unleashed, 06 and Shadow the Hedgehog.

Well, they did make the 2D ones... We shouldn't forget that. But then they blew it on the 3D ones, so it kinda balanced out. Although, I will admit to enjoying Sonic Heroes, it was sort of cool. I thought. *Raises flame shield*
