I ONLY buy PS3 exclusives for my PS3, because everything else I prefer to play on the 360. Granted, though, I haven't bought many games: Resistance 1, Heavy Rain, Uncharted, Little Big Planet, Ratchet & Clank: Tools of Destruction. That's about it, and I only finished Uncharted and Heavy Rain. I did download Quest for Booty and inFAMOUS for free after the PSN hacking incident, but I haven't played inFAMOUS yet and only spent an hour with Quest for Booty.

Maybe if the PS3 was my preferred console I would buy more games for it generally and would've been more likely to buy other exclusives (like Uncharted 2, Killzone 3, Resistance 2 & 3, etc.).

Well, I bought all the Ratchet and Clanks, MGS4, LittleBigPlanet, Resistance: Fall of Man, Heavy Rain, inFamous and WipEout HD, so that's quite a lot of exclusives there.

Wow, and here I was thinking we as a community had gotten past the word "fanboy"

I have a PS3, and when I can buy games for it, I buy ones that look interesting, or that I might enjoy. If I were to go through my PS3library, I think I'd actually say the exclusives are the ones I enjoy more and probably buy more often at retail rather than pre-owned.
What the article is trying to do however, is compare sales of exclusives to games that are built from the ground up to have mass appeal, which, while the reporting is entirely accurate, it's still not correct. It's like comparing the sales of apples and pears in two different countries. An apple is familiar and is consistently sold, but pears are less common, and don't quite have the same appeal. That might be different in a different country where pears are more commonly sold and people are more used to.

Not one of my most elegant analogies, but passable.

I bought a PS3 for the exclusives as i have an Xbox as my main console

Although apart from Heavy Rain, Uncharted and God of War i've not actually used it for anything other than a Blu Ray player

Gota say i actualy dont own a current gen console, the last one i purchased was the ps2 and the gamecube, if i ever did buy a console it would be a ps3 largly for some of the exclusive titles, anything else i'd do what i do currently and buy it for pc or not at all.

I got a PS3 instead of 360 specifically for the exclusives, and it was worth it for Demon's Souls alone.

An obscure site that probably dosent get much traffic check
A attention grabbing article heading check
I'm going to use the evidence presented to say that the author wanted a few more hits than usual, so he gave the fuel for a flame war.

I have very little PS3 games in general, but I do play it more because I feel their games are much larger and thus have more replayability.

There is not a single above average exclusive for the PS3. Decent ones yes, but I don't see anything like Mass Effect 1, the Halo series, or Lost Odyssey which is exclusive to the PS3.
You're going to say the PS3 has no above average exclusives when you count the Halo series as above average?

Haha.

My brother and I (who share a room) have only recently come into ownership of a PS3. Since then we've bought Folklore, Infamous, Heavy Rain, and Killzone 2. The biggest motivation I had for getting a PS3 was the Ico/Shadow of the Colossus remake which has yet to be released. Uncharted is also on my to-buy list but it's not a high priority. And Resistance... well, I'll get to it sometime.

Exclusive titles are less relevant with each generation. I remember looking in mags to choose between PS1, Saturn and N64 and looking at the tons of exclusives on each platform. Now with the PS3 and 360 - both have about 10 exclusives or less. By next generation it wont matter what system you buy as they will both have the same games apart from one or two exclusives. Generation after that....one console only. :)

OT: While its nice to act like a fan boy and boast about exclusives, this doesnt actually mean the exclusives are worth buying or are game genres you want to play. But i believe alot of those PS3 exclusives sell alot of copies. So maybe they didnt sell as many as COD but they still sold a hell of a lot of units anyway.
