Very intriguing idea, we will just have to see what they do with it and how well it gets implemented, knowing Sony, they will try their best.

This could be quite interesting although children shouldn't be playing Killzone 3, it's not suitable for them.

Wow, after reading this and thinking about it for a while I can safely say this...I'm still not getting a 3D TV.

Very interesting. And I thought 3D was nothing but a small bit of polish, now it will be more interesting to hunt my friend. When ever we glanced at the others screen on accident we just couldn't ignore the fact that we found out the other had a sniper rifle or a tank.

It's a gimmick: Most people *have* multiple TVs already in place to avoid this... and most people who have an HDTV only have it in the living room and wouldn't likely replace it for a TV that you still need glasses to use, and its NOT 3D.

I'm not the biggest technological genius, but as far as I can gather (which probably isn't much) it sounds sort of like this

Except Sony's will most likely be a more awesome version. With that said, I haven't had my current awesome TV that long so I won't be getting a 3D one anytime soon.

If they succeed in getting the patent granted, they may very well ensure their success in both the TV and console market for the forseeable future.

Not only that, if they can extend the patent outside of gameplay environments, they'll be able to sell the rights to Microsoft who undoubtedly will desire this for the other arm of their empire.

Sony could essentially own the next generation, inside and out of the gaming world.

Playstation Move and now this? I...I don't know whether to love or hate them.

This is awesome. It could easily work, and it would bring split-screen back.

This is quite awesome!

Unfortunately, split screen is dying due to the whole "4 copies is better than 1" sales thingy, so this is a novelty at best : (

Seriously? Split screen co-op without having someone cheating by peeking at your screen? If they actually make this and some games with some decent split screen co-op *cough*Campaign*cough* get released, then I might very well get this once I have the money.

Holy crap, this means you could play co-op, with the whole screen each, and both watch different cutscenes and stuff, and no more f***in screen lookers on multiplayer,

And for those of those concerned, as these are power glasses, you culd probily still use 3d while this is happening, if the system could render it with enough framerate,

WHen prices come down, i am definatly hopping on the 3d bandwaggon.
