Yeah, it would be incredible if Twitter and Facebook went down for the day, leaving a brief explanation as to why. Every celebrity in the Western world would find out all the unpleasant things about SOPA, and how popular speaking out against it would make them. Even if they do announce their opposition to the bill just for the popularity points, it'll still influence a lot of their fans, and cause one hell of a storm.RaikuFA said:I just want twitter to go down so celebrities can find out about the bill and make PSAs about fighting it, then people will fight it.
Better yet, both Twitter and Facebook. Maybe Google, too.RaikuFA said:I just want twitter to go down so celebrities can find out about the bill and make PSAs about fighting it, then people will fight it.
Personally, I don't know how America will get through a single day not knowing what Snookie thinks.RaikuFA said:I just want twitter to go down so celebrities can find out about the bill and make PSAs about fighting it, then people will fight it.
That might actually do something. If both Twitter AND Facebook were to go down on the 18th, we could get some good results. Wonder what the odds are of them going offline, though...?RaikuFA said:I just want twitter to go down so celebrities can find out about the bill and make PSAs about fighting it, then people will fight it.
The whole point is to get peoples attention to this... if sites don't shut down because it "inconvenient" to people then people would never get the message and know what is going on.Aris Khandr said:As long as Yahoo/Yahoo Messenger don't do down. I would be pretty freaking upset if I couldn't talk to my friends all day over this nonsense.
Putting aside that that's where I live...I'd say that the act which spurred this nonsense wasn't very civilized either. And we in Pittsburgh are a very civil society, being in a frigging commonwealth as opposed to a normal state. It is, however, a bloody fact that I could probably get the population in town to charge DC if I told them they made us lose that football game recently.Tree man said:Thats a lynching and is frowned upon in the civilized world...But the SOPA act is in America so it may be fine.FalloutJack said:For a moment there, I thought we were holding a strike against SOPA, torches and pitchforks style. Damn...
