Go on then, name another. Of this generation. Halo 3? Remaking the same game for the third time? Bioshock? Taking a giant leap backwards in terms of FPS-RPGs? Crysis? This generation's Michael Bay film? Resistance 2? You're joking. Gears 2? Not an FPS. CoD4? Great but not exactly innovative.-Seraph- said:BAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHA!!! Most innovative FPS of its generation and FPS are the blockbusters of gaming.
As for the topic at hand I really don't think there is one "greatest" game of this gen, it would be more appropriate to split it into separate genres.
Ah crap I forgot 'bout the Beam Sword.Rodger said:Brawl already has lightsabers though...they're just under a different name to avoid copyright infringements.TIMESWORDSMAN said:You fit Optimus Prime and Light Sabers in there and you would have the greatest thing ever made.
Portal is the most innovative shooter of this generation.rossatdi said:Go on then, name another. Of this generation. Halo 3? Remaking the same game for the third time? Bioshock? Or perhaps you were sneering at FPSs being the blockbusters of the gaming world. I fail to see how you could take issue with that.
The Orange Box isn't really a game more of a compilation. You would have to pick a specific game like Portal or TF2. I don't think Half Life 2 Counts either because it was a previous generation game.(correct me if I'm wrong)Hed_Kansa said:Pfft, how can you all vote for Half-Life 2 alone???
The Orange Box gets my vote. Half-Life 2 and add-ons, Portal and Team Fortress 2.
Can't get much better than that.

How about Portal is the most innovative single player and Left 4 Dead the most innovative multiplayer? That sound fair? I love Portal and do agree with you on innovation but I certainly don't find it drawing me in to play regularly.Abedeus said:Portal is the most innovative shooter of this generation.rossatdi said:Go on then, name another. I considered that but decided that since Sony isn't far from discontinuing support for the PS2 It probably didn't count.Valiance said:PS2 is still supported.TIMESWORDSMAN said:Second.rossatdi said:That's not really this generation.Valiance said:Psychonauts, currently.
I know it's a couple years old, but it's still...
Ugh, fine.
Mirror's Edge was really damn good, and I want more of this type of thing.
Isn't Using "interact" and "interactive" in the same sentence so close together a bit redundant?JC Denton said:Crysis!
"it just eye candy" My ass. I haven't played any other first-person shooters games that offers you a nano suit and customizable weapons to interact in a interactive sandbox enviroment.
