Sounds you like/hate hearing

What are your favorite sounds to hear and what is the sound you despise the most?

Love: Vacuum cleaner noise. Makes me feel sleepy.
Hate: Screeching on chalkboard. Just thinking about it makes my hair stand up.

I like one particular electric guitar effect that I can't describe, and I HATE cutlery scratching on plates. It bothers me so much.

I agree with OP on vacuum cleaner noise, but I have the same with a hairdryer. Makes me sleepy too. One noise I hate is children screaming. I don't mind it a bit, but prolonged, it drives me mad. Thank Christ for MP3 players. <_<

As for what I hate, the sound of the brakes on bike shrieking as I apply even the slightest pressure. It sends a shiver down my spine every time.

Helicopters sound nice to me. And the sound of writing on a chalkboard is also very nice, particularly if the chalk is just slightly moist. I love various "click" sounds from computer mice and interfaces. It might be weird but when i come across a good click sound i would sometimes click it repeatedly just to hear it more.


I hate the noise coming from other peoples MP3 players.

I love the crunch of feet on deep snow, just such an immensely satisfying noise. I dislike Linkara's voice immensely, he speaks with a grating whine, and has a slight lisp which makes it all the more annoying.

Ok, it's not so much a sound as a musical phrase, but this one puts me on edge.

Spoiler: This is pretty loud.

As far as pure 'sound' answers go, the sound of metal cutlery on plates makes my teeth hurt.

And I love the sound of rain against a window. All kinds of relaxing.

Love: Sound of a someone sliding up the neck of a Bass guitar and here the individual frets be hit. Also scratching something thats grooved but smooth.

Hate: Little kids screaming and the way yobs talk.

Sounds I like: Someone already made this joke the victory music on Paper Mario. Every battle victory feels rewarding for some reason...
