I'd like to quote another recent South Park episode... "Will you STOP reading into things that AREN'T THERE!?"

Great episode poking fun at a good movie. If only they could have saved the shepherd...

*cough* Greek myths, you know, the lady that helped Theseus to get through the labyrinth of Minos, giving him a spool of fleece so he wouldn't get lost... Don't they teach you anything at schools these days?
You could just say instead of being an arse about it, it's not like Greek mythology is overtly present on the curriculum.

It's pronounced "hoarding."

Also, couldn't get enough of the background music.

Unoriginal? What more do you people want!?

I haven't seen the episode, but since South Park doesn't take anything seriously for the lulz of it, I wouldn't take this as gospel truth. Watch for jollies sure, but once you start de-constructing things by citing from South Park, you've forgotten what South Park does.

Hey everyone just saw the newest SouthPark episode Insheeption and imo it was fantastic.

Not just for the usual comedy but for the fact SP showed that Inception was an over-rated, unoriginal and uneccessarily complex movie. I totally agree with the SP guys although I will admit it was still a good movie, despite these negative points.

So to those who've seen the episode what did you think, did you think they did a great job at showing the movies flaws? Or did you think they were taking cheap and unintelligent shots at the movie?
Southpark killed off Chef because the voice actor is a scientologist who balked at their scientology episode. They voiced George Clooney as a dog because he said he was a fan of their show and wanted to be on it (they're very egotistical), and they make fun of Barbara steisand because she said their show was garbage and insulted it.

I don't think I'll ever believe SP when it says that a movie was over-rated, unoriginal, and unecessarily complex. The SP guys are just assholes

I'm sure it's already been asked but.... how was Inception unoriginal? In my mind it's one of the few movies to come out in the last few years that I'd actually consider original. I really enjoy Christopher Nolan's work because his movies are ones you really need to focus in on or watch more than once to understand what exactly is going on. The only movie that comes close to the originality of this movie would be "The Matrix", but Inception truly was unlike any story I had ever seen. When you get right down to it, the movie was not all that confusing so long as you don't have the attention span of a 10 year old who didn't get his ritalin and just gulped down a pound of sugar.

I love South Park because of it's offensive material and because of it's underlying social commentary. They probably weren't making fun of the movie, but rather the people who complain about the complex nature of the movie. Oh, and also, get your own opinion rather than the ones of Matt Stone and Trey Parker.

I've been pretty lukewarm with this episode and the jersey shore one. I don't know why, but there really wasn't a moment when I laughed my ass off.
The Jersey one I really didn't get. Maybe the "It's a Jersey thing" is from another show, but I think they could've taken a much larger/interesting jab at the shore. *shrug* Also is it me or are alot of shoes mentioning Guidos recently? South Park, Bones, and a few others.
With this episode I just sighed at the repeated sheeper herder joke and the overall macky getting fondled was just boring for me.

Well said, sir.

They're just trying to craft a funny episode. Popular movies, that were derided by some, are always good candidates for the basis of an episode.

South Park have really ran out of story lines now. Every episode seems to be poking fun at something which has happened recently or is relevant at the time of showing.
Not that it's a bad thing, but I don't think these episodes will stand the test of time as well as the old ones.

This episode was plain stupid, they simply failed to make fun of it because they tried to prove it doesn't make sense but i saw the movie and it does make sense.

While I enjoyed the episode, I think Matt and Trey are starting to turn into Seth McFarlene as in "everything popular is bad."

I'll say I loved the SHIT out of Inception. Saw it twice, once out of whim, second time at midnight because I craved it. (Was not expecting to be so amused by it, as I hate DeCrapio.)

I started disagreeing with the episode's message about the movie around the time they said the plot was too complicated to understand. I have this same problem with people who don't get the plots of certain games (FF7, etc) and other pieces of media. I can't help but feel that they think they don't get it, and they see themselves as REALLY smart, so they see it as too complicated. I got it on the first showing, and while I know some people have a hard time with it, I don't find this to be unreasonable when trashing it.

When the episode started mocking the film by pointing out how 'cool and trippy' it was, that was when I took a sigh. The movie was not supposed to be thought-provoking methinks, but rather, it was taking the premise purely to show you a good time as much as it could. The movie was visual eye candy more than anything. And you know what? That works. Pointing out things that it never tried to do was a cop out, which is disappointing, considering I usually DO find South Park smart, or at least, well thought out. Thus, I see them as taking the low-ground to hate anything popular, like many on here do.

That being said, the guy doing the theme music in the background each time they started talking about the 'theories' was my favorite part...once I realized what they were doing.

The Exorcist III
On Her Majesty's Secret Service and James Bond in general
That Don Rosa comic

I remember reading that Ariadne is from the Greek aria (correct me if I'm wrong maybe it's ariad or something similar) and means 'maze'. See what he did there?

I haven't seen the SP episode, and even though I loved Inception, I'd imagine I'd still enjoy it. I wouldn't take anything they say too seriously, if Inception hadn't been as popular as it was they probably wouldn't have bothered.

I liked Inception myself, one of my faves of the year. I also like South Park and won't argue with either, so I imagine my opinion is unwanted here.

The south park episode was funny but not great. I thought inception was a great film, and I don't see why people found it too complex. The south park episode didn't make sense and given as they didn't ever go onto a different dream level, or try to put an idea in someone's head, it could have just been done by hypnosis in the 1st place.
