Eh, I thought emo!Peter was hilarious :D

I seriously doubt Pattinson is attached to the reboot. It has the stench of the rumour mill. Think about it, it's way too obvious to be true. And by obvious, I mean the actor most likely to turn the stomaches of the fans.
Was I the only one who found that part of the movie, really awkward to watch...

After spiderman 3 why would this upset anyone?
It now has an indirect connection to Twilight.
Very good point! I've never thought of it that way before... I never liked that actor to begin with so that point never crossed my mind because of it.

Oh come on. The series was going downhill anyway and everybody knew it. They'll never recapture the spark. The only shame is that they're remaking it all from scratch again instead of closing the franchise down for good, forever. Mind you a new actor wouldn't hurt it. Remember kids, that actors are acting. Just because someone is a sparkly vampire in a film doesn't mean that he actually is a sparkly vampire. He probably hates being typecast like that just as much as you hate watching him playing that role.

Oh well. Nothing remains good after 3 iterations really.

Just watch the original movies again, and remember how good they were.

That's what I do in situations like this.
You mean watch 1 and 2, then look at 3 and go "What could have been..."

Do they really already have someone cast for this?

And Robert Pattenson of all people?

he's not nerdy or lovable like peter parker.
Why Robert Patterson?

That's a bit of a silly question isn't it?

It will incorporate the beloved spiderman series, while bringing young teen girls to watch it. Can't say it's a stupid thing. I mean, maybe someone special will FINALLY go with you to a spiderman movie.
I'm going to refuse watching any movie with Robert Pattenson.

And if a girl just wants to see a movie just for him, well, fuck her.

I'd rather be with someone who actually, you know, likes Spider Man.

personally, the only flaws I saw pulled on Spider-Man 3 were the lame and inaccurate portrayal they gave Sandman and the sequence where the alien symbiote made Peter Parker act like an emo.

other than that though, they did some nice touches with giving out Venom and some decent action sequences...

okay, you guys win, Sipder Man 3 was lame compared to the other Spider-Man movies, it got the bronze while the first got the gold and the second got the silver.

but I don't see Spider-Man 3's ill secess as any reason for Spider-Man 4 to be cancelled, there's still plenty of room where Spider-Man 4 could improve and redeem the sins that it's predecessor pulled off.

though I would've suggested it portrayed 4's main villan to NOT end up dead and to instead be just defeated by Spider-Man and then brought to justice.

Attempting to explain this scene to my dad was the second most awkward moment of my life. Why couldn't he have just turned into angry Peter Parker instead of strutting Peter Parker?

Haha, I don't understand why they thought it would be good to portray him like that.
I mean, he looks like a complete dick. lol

You, sir, are filled with irony. I'll refrain from the obligatory Christopher Reeve joke.

The F**KING homosexual sparkilng vampire for the dissappointing Twilight Series...
The fuck?
Edward is far from homosexual.
Last I checked, the whole point of Twilight is that he is dating a woman.
Because Twilight, as a whole, is focused entirely on being by females, for females. To watch Twilight and like it means you are either a woman or gay. Not to mention that guy from Twilight is the most feminine vampire dude I've ever had the unfortunate karmic mishap of seeing in any form other than on fire.
So because Twilight is targeted towards women (young teenage girls, actually, but we'll ignore this for now), gays will somehow like it as well? Your logic is flawless, truly.

Pray tell, what exactly is the link between women and gays that ensures that the Twilight series appeals to both, exactly? Moreover, what in the book and film series ensures that it is liked by only women and gays?

Please don't mistake this post as a defense of the series, since they are universally bad, but to be frank, insulting Twilight is akin to picking on retarded children. It is almost cowardly, it is so easy. Kind of like assuming gays are effeminate. Both mentatities are tired and really need to die already.

Because it's faaabulous!

But I don't get what people have against Patterson other then he plays the one character. He hates twilight and its fans. Seriously read some interviews with him and see some stuff he does, it's pretty fucking hilarious. He's also actually afraid of getting disease from the fans who come up to him with open wounds trying to get him to drink their blood.
Yeah, I feel bad for the guy, since it seems that he wasn't fully aware of what he got himself in to. Mind you, I don't feel too bad for him, since there are worse things to be than famous and rich. Like living in abject poverty, for example.

Some of his quotes are priceless though.

Okay, so it might be politically correct to say the Twilight series is aimed at women and as a result is over-effeminate. Heterosexual men, on average, do not like over-effeminate material for entertainment. Homosexual men, on the other hand, are more likely to draw whatever pleasure a women finds in the material than their heterosexual peers. This may be an assumption on my part, but it seems logical to me. Now to drop the charade of appearing as though I care about political correctness, Twilight is gay.

This has very little to do with political correctness (of which I am generally not a fan) and everything to do with getting you to defend your patently ludicrous claims. Trying to make this about being PC is a smokescreen on your part, and nothing more, especially considering it is not entirely innacurate to say that the Twilight series is marketed towards women (and again, to teenage girls, mostly). Nothing un-PC about that, is there?

Now, more on topic: why does it seem logical that gay men would also enjoy what women are in to? I more or less asked this before, and you didn't really supply a reasonable answer, instead rehashing what you said above by basically saying "gays will like it because chicks like it". Why?

And Twilight cannot be gay, as it is not a person. Again, this has nothing to do with being PC, and more to do with having a basic understanding of what certain words mean. Let me illustrate:

"Now to drop the charade of appearing as though I care about political correctness, Twilight is a film that is attracted to other same-sex films."

That doesn't quite follow, now does it?

1. Calm down dude.
2. I'm sorry, I really did misunderstand your intent with the previous comment.
3. I don't know if my perceptions are distorted by living exceptions to the rule, but the only people I know that like Twilight are A. a teenage girl B. a gay. This is an observation I've drawn from my community. Maybe its wrong. I don't know.
4. I called the movie gay in the same way I would call it sucky or Fail. Maybe it isn't a proper description. I don't care. I view the movie as gay.
5. I think its fairly obvious that Twilight was geared towards women. This is not an arguable point.
6. Again, chill dude.

6. Again, chill dude.
1. I am calm. Why would you think otherwise?
2. Fair enough.
3. I understand what you are saying, but personal experience only counts for so much. I was merely challenging that, nothing more. Stereotypically, you may be correct, but crude stereotypes are not worth much to most reasonable people (or at least, I sure hope so) and to be honest, I'm not sure why anyone would enjoy the Twilight series on any deeper level, gay or otherwise.
4. So what you are saying is that you are using "gay" as an adjective, and one that is a pejorative, when it isn't technically correct to do so. Your prerogative to be certain, but it sounds rather silly.
5. I said as much in my last post and I wouldn't disagree.
6. Again, I assure you, I am quite calm as I type this. I don't really see much reason to get worked up over an Internet debate. People who do need to re-evaluate their priorities.

In any case, I don't see Edward the Vampire as being gay in any real way. Annoying, perhaps and maybe a bit broody, but this shouldn't have a negative effect on Robert Pattinson. He might make a good Pete Parker, for all we know. He'll have to cut his acting chops on some other projects first, before we will have any idea for sure.

Just to be on topic, and all.
