cause most ppl grew up watching these films, along with star wars, they put them on a pedestal that anything else can't live up to and that's my main sticking point with them, it's much like anything you saw as a kid, if you watch it now, it's not the same
heck i still remember going to see the oringal raiders when i was a kid, with my yoda puppet, that i still have, and watching it on 35 mm on a big screen in toronto, sadly the theatre isn't there anymore or if it is, it's not a movie theatre
indy is and always will be a check your brain and enjoy the ride type of movies and they are supposed to be flimsy, that's the point of the pulp stuff

this one was a bit more up front with certain things than the other ones but i think that's due to the changes everyone's gone thru since making the originals
