Dude, spoiler tags now. I read your post and some of the story is ruined for me, entire plot twists gone in a matter of words. Lucky for both of us, I forgot what you wrote in the process of writing this so I hold nothing against you.Polaris19 said:Snip
i only got to the restoration zone before i quit kotor 2. i just like it better because the story seemed like it would be more interesting. i do agree though, it was kind of annoying that the dialog seemed to have in mind the people who never played the first game. i mean it seems like most people would understand that 2 would come after 1 and would thus, play the first game before this one. i got really confused when i had the choice of asking "who's revan and malak?" i kept wondering if my character hit her head or something and forget about everything that happening in the first gameVincent33 said:You saying that you don't like KOTOR 1 is alright; people have different opinions, tastes and all that.
But saying that you think KOTOR 2 is better, it's just plain trollin'.
I stopped giving a damn about the second game when one of the companions asked me something about the past of my character; and I had 4~5 different options I could choose. It felt like playing a nobody.
In the first game you learn about the Revan's history and at the same time you make some of your own; and after the revelation you have two standing points from where you can see the weight of your past and future choices.
Wait wait wait... you liked KotOR 2 and didnt like KotOR1?? What's wrong with you, game play is EXACTELLY the same... And KotOR 2 is bug ridden and the story dont even have a proper ending, just something half thinked they tacked at last minute cause they didnt have the time to finish the game properly00slash00 said:why do people like these games?
kotor 1 was the most boring game i have ever played, in every way. combat was BORING, the story was BORING, the characters were BORING, and character development was just pathetic (not as bad as in final fantasy 12 but still pretty bad). combat for me went "flurry,flurry,flurry...done" i didnt even need force powers. the game just felt tedious, especially the star forge.
kotor 2 i actually thought was a good game. combat was more smooth, the story had an element of mystery that actually made me care about what the outcome would be. but it was so buggy it was unplayable. was this game even play tested before release? for games that get so much praise i was expecting so much better.
im sure ill get flamed for this because everyone seems to love these games but please tell me what im missing because other than the star wars license and pretty good voice acting, i cant find anything game of the year worthy...maybe 2003 was just a really slow year

The second one had the best Hand to hand fights I ever seen.Polaris19 said:Keeping in mind that the game IS 7 years old, it is still one of the classic examples of how an RPG should be made. Uninteresting characters? There are few greater characters than HK-47, Carth Onasi is still a cult fave, and Bastilla's evolution as you slowly regain your powers and learn your true identity is perfect.00slash00 said:why do people like these games?

The combat is EXACTLY THE SAME in both games, minus a few powers. If you liked the second one's combat, then there should have been no complaints about the first.
If you liked Kotor 2's combat then you should feel the same about the first one. Tedious is not something I've heard anyone call Kotor and if you actually talked to the characters they do at least develop unlike some games. You also mean you didn't like that plot twist? The only way you couldn't of liked it is if someone spoiled it for you. As for it being to easy you should bump the difficulty back down to hard mode and play it then. I guarantee you'll use your force powers. Your post honestly makes it seem like you didn't actually play the game to the fullest extent and you wanted to make a thread that would get high amounts of views and posts.00slash00 said:why do people like these games?

You do realize if there was no Kotor there would be no Mass Effect right?MetallicaRulez0 said:I agree that KOTOR is the most overrated RPG ever. It's certainly nowhere near as good as Mass Effect.
Give it a try. Who knows, you might actually like it.(How can something "probably" be overrated?)Who Dares Wins said:From what you just said it sounds a lot like Dragon Age: Origins: BORING. Also I haven't played it but I think it's probably overrated.
I'm sorry; I didn't realize we live in a world where we can't voice an opinion. From now on, only factual threads will be tolerated and expression of self is outlawed. Using facts to convince someone of your own point of view is also illegal. Have fun.AmrasCalmacil said:Congratulations, you have an opinion.
