6 mil is doable...trailer looks neat. Lightning looks bad ass. Tokin black guy with chocobo in stereotypical afro and gold convertible burnout attacks is uncalled for.
Thing is, Sazh isn't a token black guy, as far as we've seen so far he's got one of the most interesting stories in the game, and he happens to be black.

People just see any black guy in some form of media, and automatically assume he's a token black guy, when really it's more to do with people's obsession with seeing racism everywhere more than actual racism.

I dont mind FF14 going to the 360 but decide that when the other versions come out. cause I dont want them to delay the game for the 360 version. I want to try out FF14 as soon as I can. =D

He's actually very smart for putting it on BOTH consoles. The 360 and PS3 both have people who love final fantasy, so I think his predictions are pretty solid.
Considering FFX sold 7.95 million copies worldwide, I'd say he has a pretty good chance of hitting six million comfortably.
I read only 5.2 million were sold for XII.

I'd honestly feel more comfortable about all these Final Fantasies if they'de lose the roman numerals. Something about the XIII confuses (I always forget wether it's XIII or XIV or XII) and frightens (OH GOD THATS ALOT OF SEQUELS) me.

Just call it Final Fantasy...something besides a damn numeral.

I've also yet to see anything unique about FFXIII, though if someone could prove me wrong it'd be nice to get my JRPG mojo back, I used to kill hella hours on Xenogears and the like.

So long as giving FF14 to the 360 doesn't majorly delay the game, no big. Getting a bigger potential audience isn't a bad idea. I'm sure there are plenty of people out there with 360's that would be interested.

Indeed, but note that FFXII was the second Final Fantasy for that 'generation' whereas FFX was the first, similar to how FFXIII will be the first of this generation of gaming, meaning that sales will likely be higher.

What game besides WoW has ever sold that many copies?
Eh, didn't Oblivion sell considerably more than 6 mil? I think so, but could be wrong. Anyway, it's a very high number for a JRPG, but doable.

Final Fantasy has been really failing more and more with their characters ever since X-2. I think that their Charlie's Angel game was a sign that they're just milking the Final Fantasy name.

They've allways been milking the Final Fantasy name, and since X-2... What XII had a more intresting cast than X and XIII isn't even OUT yet!
X seemed to at least try with it's protagonist, yet Vaan was remarkably annoying. The only bearable character was Balthier. I'll admit that he definitely helped it along, but FFXI was garbage in general. Also I meant to say X, not X-2, and I mean starting with X

I think with FFXII they were experimenting with a story where the character you play isn't the Protagonist in such a way as we relate to from previous FF games. Like Balthier said when he's first introduced "He's the Leading Man." FFXII took it in a new direction where Vaan (and Penelo) were more 'along for the ride' characters, similar to say...Amaranth in FFIX or Yuffie in FFVII.

Really, FFXII was almost entirely based around Ashe's story. Originally in fact, Basche was meant to be the 'protagonist' of FFXII but they changed it to Vaan to appeal to their target audience better. Vaan sucked as a protagonist, but his character was never really meant to take a 'leading' role. In fact, it's only once you head out into the extra Ivalice Alliance games like FFTA2 and FFXII: Revenant Wings do we really see him become a character in his own right. Whether it 'worked' or not is up to each individual but as soon as you stop viewing Vaan as the major player of FFXII it makes the game seem better.

Which of course, doesn't help that you have to play as him in every city and you're stuck with his stupid pencilled on abs for the whole game.

/Balthier, Ashe and Basche for the utter win.
//Don't like Fran.
///Penelo's a loli.
////Vaan just sucks.

Speaking of online games, Wada reiterated the claim that Final Fantasy XIV might not necessarily be exclusive to the PS3 and the PC as Final Fantasy XI had been (well, replacing PS3 with PS2 in that sentence). Squeenix and Microsoft are apparently in talks to bring the MMOJRPG to the Xbox 360 as well. After all, having a wider range of names can't hurt, right?
Umm I know it's been quite a few years since I played FF 11 but I'm fairly certain I remember it also being on the X-Box. In fact I think it was released before the PS2 version. Well at least in the states i think it was released before the PS2 version.

After the way they treated folks after the whole hacking thing Im suprised anyone is going to buy it. I wont specifically for that reason and I havent heard either an appology from them for it or of them making it right, nor that they have changed their terms of service nor, the fact that their customer service plans have changed. Until they do I wont go near it, mostly because I dont want to put in a ton of hours,get hacked and be told sucks to be you and its your fault when it isnt.

You're... you're joking, right? MGS 2 sold about 7 million copies. MGS4 has sold about 4.75 million units. Halo 3 solds 8.1 million copies by January of 2008. Kingdom Hearts has sold about 5.6 million. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of time has sold 7.6 million sales in it's life-time, so for a game that old, it is perhaps not as impressive, but you get the idea.

People have already quoted you to tell you about stuff like that, but it's not unheard of for hugely hyped games to sell that much.

Believe you-me, FF XIII can hit 6 million worldwide within 2 years, I think. FF Vs XIII shuld probably hit about 2-3 million if XIII does well, and Agito XIII can probably hit around a million, but since it's also a cell phone game and they like those fairly well in Japan, who even knows.
