Hell yes! I absolutely adored the second Drakengard so I can't wait to see what's in store for this one.

I was 10 when the original was released and it was by far my favourite game ever at that time. Never played #2 but I'll keep an eye on this one.

The pain may never reach you again, but the darkness of that game never leaves you..It consumes you.

Search your feelings, you know what i say is true dragon lover...
I...I got better. I got over it! I went to therapy, sought help, I even drank...until I forgot.
But...no...NO!! I'm remembering!! NO!
That's not true...that's impossible!!!

OH WHY DID I PLAY THAT HORRIBLE GAME!?

I guess nobodies really interested in this then..
Kinda... I'm a big Panzer Dragoon fan, but this is nothing like PD besides the fact that it has dragons.

And I can't stand the Dynasty Warriors games. They make Call of Duty seem like high art in comparison.

I've often thought about buying the previous two games, having watched enough videos of them to probably outmatch the amount of time it takes to complete one of them, but it's just doesn't look that fun to play. I will keep a fairly close eye on this installment though, just in case it has some tricks up its sleeve that make it wildly more enjoyable looking than the previous installments.

I heard about this last night and I squeed like the little fangirl I am. This game was a huge part of my middle school years; and I loved it dearly. Even if the character designs are a little silly, the fact that Yoko Taro (Man who directed Drakengard 1 and Nier) is on board made me grin from ear to ear. There's also a prequel comic out, and if it's any indicator, it'll have the tone of the first game; which is great! :D

Needless to say, I'm stoked.

If you were to ask me to write a list of things i never thought Square Enix would do a third Drakengard game would have been right up the top of the list, followed closely by them actually releasing Final Fantasy Versus 13.
The correct answer to this is a sequel to Mindjack. Heh...

Personally I love the Dynasty Warrior style games. And it got better once you unlocked shit. While surprised, I am pleased by this.

And now...there's hope for a new Chrono game.

If THIS series can get revived, why can't CT/CC?

I'm...interested?

I never played the Drakengard games, but I really like Nier. Even despite it's issues (and there are many) I still found it to be incredibly engaging. It actually made me read up on the Drakengard games, and although 2 seems rather by-the-books JRPG stuff (even though it's not really one) the first one just seems so batshit insane that I have to get it, even if I know and have seen everything that's happened.

As for this though? I'm interested as I said, but the screenshots don't help. They look more like they belong on the PSP than the PS3 (I guess Nier wasn't the best graphics, but they still looked better than this) Also, it seems I'm not the only one who thinks Zero looks like Kaine from Nier, which makes me wonder where Nier stands in this entire situation. Will they even consider it? I know there were talks of making a sequel to that, but I assume that this isn't what they meant.

Given Nier was actually a possible alternate timeline brought about by the events of the worst ending of the first Drakengard, i wouldn't be too surprised to see resemblances. Hell, from what's been described Zero sounds ALOT like Kaine in terms of personality.

I do hope they return to the batshit insanity and bleaker then bleak darkness of the original though, although i do hope they make it more like Nier in regards to writing quality rather then the original. Basically, if they can hit a perfect unity between all three games i'll be happy.

Either way it'll probably still be more entertaining then Final Fantasy 13

Okay, I honestly have to wonder why SE thought it would be a good idea to release these screenshots [http://gematsu.com/2013/03/drakengard-3-high-res-screenshots-artwork].
What the hell is this? What is it? Where are everyone's feet? What is going on here?
Probably an early alpha build, which would definitely be polished up by release. It still looks like it has a long way to go yet though.

I was sleeping. Forgive me.

I am only sort of interested, though. The first one had potential, but it was like the game hated you. Not in the Dark Souls "you will die" sense, or anything like that, but "we will wear you down with bad music and worse endings."

I hear the second was better, but didn't want to drop full price on it. and I never found it cheaper.

I haven't played any of the Drakengard titles.
Speaking of dragons, now I'm reminded of Drakan and Drakan: The Ancients' Gates.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Drakan:_Order_of_the_Flame
This. So much.

It's my #1 favorite game of all time, and if you're a dragon lover you're doing yourself a disservice if you haven't played it. It boggles my mind how this series didn't catch on considering how popular dragons seem to be.

The graphics were pretty good for the time. The setting, the characters and the interactions between the protagonist and her dragon were interesting and the gameplay was amazing. While aerial combat is what you would expect, with a dragon that acquires new breath weapons throughout the game, ground combat was an action based hack and slash with actually working blocking and dodge roll mechanics (using pretty precise hitboxes) which seem to give developers trouble even today.

The PS2 sequel and to an extent the original on the PC was one of the early 3D open world games. With a dragon at your disposal the sky was literally the limit and you could explore to find a ton of enemy camps, dungeons and sidequests.

Unfortunately, the second and last game of the series was released 10 years ago by Surreal Software which was disbanded even though they didn't deserve it after making this and The Suffering. The IP now belongs to Warner Bros, whose history with games is sketchy at best, and I doubt they even know they own it. Who knows... Maybe with the resurgence of 10 year old games nowadays.

You should really give the game a try if you can track a copy down. It?s one of the very few (good) entries in a genre that is surprisingly small.
