I get the feeling that everyone condemning Blitzball either got bored or were just terrible at it. I wasn't and would enjoy a stand alone game, mainly to see how little effort was put into it or how few of people actually try it.

If it was cheap then yes I would give it a go. Actually I have a better idea for mney. Flesh out and maybe update or deupdate the graphics for every single minigame ever put into a Final Fantasy game. Put them all into one game. Make it a party game. You're probably thinking this sounds stupid but after doing all this release it on the Wii, Move and Kinect and call it Fantasyware or Chocoboware or something along those lines. Also they could probably add a couple of 100 as well. Who would even want to play a children's card game? In America or Canada.

As far as I remember without googling yes Square did make or at least have a big hand in making it.

On one hand, I don't see it selling... on the other hand in about June after not playing FFX since I first finished it... I played it solely to play blitz ball, for seven hours... in one sitting.

I really liked Blitzball. I kinda cheated a bit (did the hide behing goalkeeper thing) but i played it a lot.

I also really like Triple Triad from FF8. That was a good game too.

I fuckin' loved me some blitzball. But I wouldn't have bought a stand-alone game. Except maybe as a cheapie on PSN or XBLA.

I'll be the first to admit I loved X's Blitzball. X-2's wannabe Blitzball Manager game wasn't enjoyable however.
Granted, I liked most of the minigames in Final Fantasy. Pretty much everything in VII, the Gold Saucer sucked me in like mad. I played Triple Triad like mad. IX's Tetra Master wasn't as good as Triple Triad but I certainly got into it.

I could go on. But yeah - I would buy a Blitzball game and I know a few people who would.

LMAO the main reason people didn't like Blitz was the mandatory Champ game in 10, I haven't met anyone who actually won that game. (Secret: you can with the special Jecht shot, pass ball to Tidus and shoot like mad)

Once you get control of the team and actually play level up your team and can recruit it is awesome and addictive, I highly enjoyed it, Number 1 in League and win ever Tournie.

Secondly X2 was and I'll say it again was one of the most underrated games of the previous decade, and shame on the people who secretly liked it and keep silent about.

Blitz in x2 is great cause to don't have to play the games, your the manager/coach. I was just as stuck on that experience.

So yeah SE should make Blitz and maybe Triple Triad into a game and sell it on the PSNetwork

If you could make it a little more fast-paced, with less numbers and calculations, so yes. Could be awesome.

Urge to kill rising. Do not anger the JinxyKatte.

I am sick of attempting to defend FF13 with logic and well thought out posts. Too many times have I attempted such a feat.

So I will simply say while you are entitled to your opinion of the game. I personally thought it was awesome.

I was gonna start shouting profanities at you but honestly I cant be arsed. It would accomplish anything.

So thats all I have to say on the matter.

Oh and go jump in front of a moving bus :)
But you do have to admit he was right about FF14 ;)

haha, I actually won that game. I just kept passing the ball forward and I did the jecht shot from right in front of their goal a few times. Then it was just a case of pile up the defense and act like a brick wall :p

The actual managing and playing as your team from then on was one of the best parts, even recruiting people - though I honestly tried to keep most of the Aurochs together - just having others as subs - or whomever from the Aurochs wasn't playing as a sub.
I just wasn't too fond of Blitzball Manager - I probably shoulda been since I like games like Football Manager (even the PSN one, which is a very small scale manager game) - but I like football so who knows. I love X-2 though and never been silent on that fact :p

I'd buy a Gold Saucer game. I'd buy a Triple Triad game. I'd buy a blitzball game. Hell - very few minigames in JRPG history were bad, most I'd buy standalone.

I'll just side with you on this one. I mean, look at it logically from this very thread: Ye all seem to be bashing and praising different mini-games, so just stuff em all on a disk (like the Sega Genesis collections) so you can all pick and choose what you do and don't want to play. Then play it.

Now... The real thing is, do we want Square looking at this and taking these idea's, and actually using them? Honestly, I'm not sure
