Rapier and dagger, although I'm only trained in stage combat. (I can make it look flashy and dangerous, but it's perfectly safe.)

I have only one fighting style. It's called kickinthenutsandrun-fu. It's like kung fu, but only has one move. It has no room for weapons any other than boots.

Ha, I am a black Boot in Kickinthenutsandrun-fu. I find it has so many uses beside fighting, my favourite being the ability to bring Philosophy graduates down to size,
"But How do you know if everything we experience is not real, man, for example, How do I know you're real?"
"Because I can affect you like this- Hi-Ya!" *then around the room was heard the sound of 1000 tiny sperm cry out and being silenced.*
I happen to have aquired original instructional documents from the founder of the style:

It is written in Great Grandmaster Sensei Eriksen's native language, but I am sure experienced marial artists like yourselves will get the gist of it.

Katana (Sakabato, that is, edge on the "wrong" side), real though not sharp. Not that sharpening it would do any difference since the edge is on the "wrong" side anyway.

My way of fighting is based of what I've learned by being a kendōka (that is, I'm a practitioner of Kendo) mixed with some moves I've made up on my own... With varied results. Anyways, yes, I do actually know how to handle a katana the "correct" way. ^^

Please bear in mind that this sword is almost 2500 yrs old! (And unsurprisingly a national archaeological treasure of PRC.)
That's awesome, what is it made of? I'm guessing bone or wood.

WHAT?! Hell no, it's bronze, with trace amounts of lead, iron, sulphur & arsenic, with different compositions across all parts of the blade. It hasn't tarnished at all (thanks to the scabbard). So that brings up the question: aliens... it was aliens wasn't it?!

I was not fortunate enough to have any formal weapons training (but I would love to get some) save for me and my brother beating each other with the cut-off bamboo pieces from the plants that our grandmother grew in her backyard.

While some of the pieces were small, there was usually a dozen or so around two meters long.
We would grab one each and try to poke each other's eyes out with them.

That being said, the one weapon that I would kill to own is the Halberd, which is of roughly the same dimensions and goes towards the same use as the aforementioned bamboo poles.

Against normal unarmored people? A good katana. Very fast and maneuverable. Packs a very mean punch and is surprisingly resistant considering how light and easy to wield it is.

Against armored or "heavier" enemies:

It'll cleave clean through pretty much anything that's mobile on legs. And if it doesn't, it'll damn sure bash it into an unusable pile of scrap and blood.

But honestly, I'll make due with anything that comes with a blade (or even if they don't). Just gotta adapt your style.

I have two swords, neither is good for fighting. One is a rusty saber from the colonial period with the national coat of arms on the hilt and the other is a quite unique looking kris.
My favorite is the kris. It's awesome.

IIRC the kris was a Thai assassin's weapon of choice: stab, twist, tang snaps, good luck getting the blade out.

Thanks for the reminder. Hmmm... *grin*

I'm a cutlass man myself, because there's no better way of dealing with those pesky ninjas.

It's a wonderful blade. Very ornate, the blade itself on mine has some pretty nice engravings. Used to be coated with arsenic back in the day, I believe.

I have exceptional skill at wielding my pork sword. My preferred technique involves much thrusting. It find it is most effective against unarmed opponents. I often score multiple blows to the head before finishing myse- I mean finishing them off.

... don't look at me like that, you knew it was coming... heh.

Im more for polearms than swords.. So as a Dane, I should probably say the Dane Axe.

But honestly?.. I would prefer a Halberd.

THE weapon of choice of the elites guards though out the medieval and renaissance... And for a reason!
Its a spear! Its an axe! Its a hook! Proven times over to be THE MOST effective melee weapon in small fights.

my favorites include kukri, scimitar, mideval daggers, katana , and wakizashi (i tend to prefer shorter blades, more utilitarian and easier for decieving your opponent.) i know some european fencing, but most of my skill is in kendo, and i prefer hasso no kame (all eight directions, offensive) and gedan-no-kame (lowered sword defensive) stances. both are good for tricking, and thats my main style, i guess, confusing and disorienting.

do you shout "GET OVER HERE!" cause if so, then you are a good role model, sir.
