I will be getting SC2, in fact I have the collector's edition preordered. I played Brood War back in the day, and just recently went through the single player campaign again.

I would love beyond anything else to have it, unfortunately, I don't have a good enough computer and my parents don't want to buy one

i will not be.

i have played the old one a few times, it was fun, but just too time consuming for a strategy game, if im gonna pour time into a game its gonna be an rpg for sure.

so no i will not be, plus all the koreans raped on me when i played the few times online and not against my friend
Did you just call Starcraft a slow game??

It's definitely one of the fastest paced RTS's out there. For comparison's sake, it's not uncommon for a Starcraft match to be over in 20 minutes. But a Supreme Commander 2 match (another very popular RTS) can easily last between 1 and 2 hours. Now, I'm not telling you you have to like Starcraft, if it's not your thing, that's cool. But calling it slow for a strategy game is just silly.

no im not calling it slow at all, im saying its extremely balanced with counter after counter after counter

at least thats what happened with alot of the games i played in, and the games that i have seen my friends play in, they tried to end it quick but it ended up being massive amount of counter attacks/defense

Ah I see. I confused "time-consuming" with "slow". Yeah, it is a very complex game. Especially when you start seeing the really good players. (100+ mouseclicks a second is just out of this world).

I don't think I'll get it, at least not until they put all campaigns in 1 sale
So... you want all 3 campaigns in one sale? Well it's still going to cost like £140 on steam.
Nope, it won't. Blizzard won't be putting anything of theirs on Steam.
Blizzard said, that Starcraft II's DRM will be Steam.

Preordered the standard edition about 2 months ago. My version will never see the multiplayer, I'm just playing this for the story.

No, the DRM's going to be Battle.Net, not Steam. Links or it didn't happen. I can link to a million (hyperbole) sources claiming the Battle.Net will be the DRM, and it won't be on Steam.

I'm not going to pay full price for a third of a game. I'll wait until they release the whole game in one box thank you. Blizzard got a little too greedy with this one.

I will be at some point. I checked the pre-order at Play.com and it made my eyes water, so I will probably wait. I'm glad the original VA for Jimmy is back but it's a shame the original Kerrigan VA isn't it. I'm very much looking forward to the game.

I may yet pre-order it however.

I'm going to stop writing right now.

I won't, but that's just because my PC can't run it, not even close. If I ever buy a new PC then StarCraft II will be the second game I buy. (TF2 will be the first)

They've also said that they're not even thinking about (well, probably THINKING about, but not working on) the Zerg and Protoss campaigns until SC2T is out the door. Which is pretty poor form if they were just chopping up one game into three pieces.

Nobody's attacking anyone. It's an argument that I find tiresome, and posted my thoughts as others posted theirs. Read into them whatever you will, but if you want to yell at people to 'chill' you're barking up the wrong tree. Slightly facetious civility is still civility.
Wouldn't that work against the stated reason for the Trilogy in the first place though (e.g. they had so many ideas and stuff considered/planned for implementation ~2 years ago), while now they're stating they haven't even started with the basic work on it?
I don't think so. I think there's easily a difference between having vague concepts and actually starting work to turn those concepts into mechanics.

So like, Blizzard in 2007 could have sat down, looked at the huge number of "things we want in this game" notecards all over a table and gone "Crap, there's no way we can do this on time in one game." But that doesn't mean they've given much thought to the implementation of things beyond SC2T.

It's the difference between "We want the Zerg campaign to have RPG elements to it," and figuring out how those RPG elements are going to work, you know?

And while I'm unhappy with the current state of Battle.net, some of my major complaints are being addressed - they're adding chat channels, they're adding cross-realm play, and the identifiers are returning so it won't just be RealID.

At this point, my chief complaints with B.net come down to not being able to name games, the custom game browser, and a lack of hosting. Which can all be refined.

Not me. Got collector's edition preordered.

Honestly, the beta alone is one of my favorite games of the year so far. Soooo much fun.
Funk

I want to play you.

What race do you play? I'm Zerg and Terran >:D
I play Random. :p

Me. Most RTS games tend to bore me (I did have fun with World in Conflict, just wish there was a skirmish mode and Age of Empires II was fun). Also, someone I went to school with made me play Starcraft and honestly (*arms flame shield*), it just looked and felt like Age of Empires in space.
There was a skirmish mode, just not very well displayed.
On World in Conflict? I just remember seeing online and campaign. I know if I tried to play online it would be over fast...

I like RTS games, but it probably won't run on my computer so I won't be getting it.

Nope. No Starcraft 2 for me!
Besides not having a PC to run it, I always thought the first SC was over-rated. Never got into it.
I'll pass on number 2.
