Voyager's my favourite Star Trek series, and Janeway is my favourite captain.

I give fanboys permission to crucify me. I understand completely.

I quite like Voyager. Not as good as DS9 or NG (but then, few Sci-Fi shows beat those two), but still pretty good nonetheless. Certainly not as bad as the pile of crap that was Enterprise. Worth a watch if you liked DS9 and NG.

[sub]Farscape did it better though[/sub]

No star trek has ever been that bad.
Wow. I am going to hand you a flame shield right now, because if there's as many trekkies around here as I think there are, you're about to get eaten alive. I never really got into DS9 (it's too heavily serialized to get into without a significant outlay of funds), but man is it a fan favorite. Also, I have first hand experience with admitting to disliking sacred cows; I can't stand the Battlestar Galactica reboot. To me, it was the ultimate expression of the dark, depressing hole that American TV slipped into after 9/11, and is just now getting out of in favor of the kind of light escapism that was in vogue during the great depression. Anyway, making a statement like that is a quick way to start a flamewar, even if it's your honest opinion and you can give a solid explanation for why you feel that way.

I like Voyager, I think it was more about exploration and discovery than Tos/TNG/DS9 and those are the things Star Trek is really supposed to be about. I liked the characters, and the stories they did were interesting.

I watched Voyager a bit but I never really got that into it. I always felt it was kind of silly and absurd. The only series I really enjoyed was The Next Generation.

Alright, Voyager to me hits the "Overall Good" spot. It made some mistakes, but it also had some damn fine episodes. More to the point, it was an actual star trek, as opposed to the previous show Star Sitting Around And Waiting For Shit To Happen.

Not really a fan of DS9. Interesting, but for me it got old fast, same as Enterprise. So, I rate Voyager over those two, which makes it a decent watch. Watch Voyager, if only for some of the weird shit of the galaxy, killer battles, funny stuff, and all the John De Lancie bits.

My favourite off the series is easily Voyager. I know there are people who hate it with the passion of a thousand suns, but I love it

Well I'm really not the biggest Trekkie because they do the sci-fi stuff very badly and that is the part I'm there for.

Voyager was alright, some good ups and downs mixed with lots of silliness, if anyone decides to watch it I strongly suggest you keep the fast forward button close.
Enterprise however I strongly suggest... well maybe not the last few episodes, what happened there anyway, did the original writer die?

Voyager was the 1st Star Trek series I watched week to week from the start (rather then catching random shows) and I was young and ignorant enough to not notice or care about the problems. While a lot of the crew annoyed me, the Doctor and Seven of Nine were both awesome. TNG was better thanks the the superior acting and DS9 was better as it got a good balance between characters, story arcs and one off episodes.

Voyager is my favorite series, although it has some bad episodes, it has some pretty good ones too. One thing I love about the series is that there are virtually no ferengi! God do I hate those bastards... The other thing I love is the delta quadrant, because it is a nice tool for introducing new and never seen before aliens and what not, where as a show in the alfa quadrant would have restricted them to the races we have been seeing in the previous series.

I like Voyager, its good for abit of mindless TV watching without much brain involvement.

That said, didn't really enjoy ST:NG or the original, it just seemed to preachy and old. Did like the movies. Infact anytime there was a darker side to the story, Star Trek got better.

I also liked Enterprise, because they didn't keep ringing their fucking hands everytime a small child dropped their ice cream "OH BUT LITTLE JOHNNY WILL BE SO SAD, *CRIES*"

Due to prior shows being on in syndication and us not having a local affiliate, Voyager was the first one I saw regularly. UPN was on in my area, nobody picked up TNG or DS9.

I like certain characters in voyager more than I like the show itself. It had some pretty good episode, and some really bad ones. However, I've never been a big TNG fan, either. I find the characters to be mostly stiff and uninteresting even in later series where people argue they got better. When you have character-focused episodes, that's bad.

I liked DS9 more (Than TNG), though I think Batsamaritan has many good points on the matter. The fact is, while DS9 had a lot of stuff that was similar to Bab 5 and was quite "been there, done that" to me (Especially since I only first saw it last year and had watched Bab 5 religiously), it still had characters I liked, people I gave a damn about when they were put in bad circumstances. People liked TNG's characters because they were wooden badasses, and that's all they were looking for. Badasses. That annoys me. I find Picard to be the single most unlikable featured Captain (Commander, whatever) in all of Star Trek. I even liked Archer more, and I didn't like Enterprise at all.

but while DS9 was a poor man's Bab 5, it was still better than TNG in my eyes.

I grew up on the original Star Trek and the movies, because my dad was a major Trekkie. I also grew up reading some really old comics, because my dad had kept a bunch of them around. Oddly, I think I like Kirk more as an adult than I did as a kid, but TOS was still my first Trek and it's kind of a watermark. But even when I didn't really like Kirk, I liked him more than Picard.

I digress. I like Voyager, but I understand why a lot of people didn't. It suffered from shoddy writing (and boy, when Janeway's onscreen, you know it), some characters that are almost universally hated, and a tendency to become too Borg-focused (They always worked best when they were a remote threat), but I liked a lot of it. but again, this was the first series I could watch new and weekly. I'm probably biased.

It's my personal favourite, but that aside I do think Voyager really took off once the writers decided to focus on the only three interesting characters, namely Janeway, Doctor and Seven.

Only a bit disappointed they didn't make the latter the QLGBT character they had promised for so long.

I like Voyager :) I'll admit there are some rough episodes...but that's true of any series so it shouldn't stop you from checking it out.

Once Seven was on, it was actually pretty good. I watched almost the whole thing when Spike was showing it a long time ago.

Enterprise, on the other hand...
