Dude! Someone has some re-evaluating to do - especially since you liked 25th Anniversary. Judgment Rites is probably the best game out of the bunch, and one of the best sci-fi games ever.ColeusRattus said:Star Trek has

Thanks, and wow, what timing for me to ask about the F2P thing. On the static nature of things, yeah, it's like when I'm playing LotRO and I kill a small storyline quest bad guy and find that he drops some kind of awesome loot, I then proceed to wait for him to respawn and I kill him again, and sometimes do it a couple more times. Or, like one time when I was heading to kill a storyline quest bad guy and got to the top of the stronghold and found said bad guy standing behind and looking at his own dead body.Sixcess said:It went F2P on 17th of January (1701 being quite a significant number in Trek) You should be able to get your old character back but since STO has changed owners you might have to merge your existing account with a new account - I guess just see if your log in still works and if not I imagine the STO forums will explain how to merge them.
I liked the log, and the stuff about the Borg still attacking Vega made me chuckle. You've got to love the static nature of MMO worlds...
Your point is?Kahunaburger said:Star Trek doesn't really seem like it would lend itself well to most kinds of games. It's at the core a show about exploration, diplomacy, and thought experiments. That would be one dialogue-heavy game.
forgive me if i sound insulting, but do you seriously believe that it can be realized as a game? most trek fans would buy it of course but that is a rather marginal income for such an expansive game. there are far greater chances of it being realized as a text rpg.Blood Brain Barrier said:Your point is?Kahunaburger said:Star Trek doesn't really seem like it would lend itself well to most kinds of games. Oh yeah I forgot, games are all about shooting and fistfighting, and not about moral dilemmas, exploring the universe and the scientific and social progress of humanity.
