I want C3PO and HK voiced by Kristoffer Tabori on screen together someplace in the new trilogy. I don't care how they do it just as long as it happens.

I'd like for the antagonists this time to be presented as both the Jedi and the Sith.
Hear me out.
Why not have the protagonist struggle with using the dark side, trying to find a balance to achieve his goal? The dark side is powerful, sure, but does it HAVE to be used for evil? Can't you use force lightning to short circuit a bunch of droids? Or to ACTUALLY save lives like Palpatine once claimed? Why not have a protagonist who, unlike Anakin, doesn't turn into a complete asshole and commit genocide when trying to balance the two sides of the force? And the Jedi, due to their black and white views, see this as a threat while the Sith are just doing their usual evil thing and the protagonist struggles with both sides? It could create some great conflict and character struggles while exploring an area of the Star Wars Mythos that hasn't really been done yet from my knowledge.

Better lightsaber fights. The ones in the old movies were good, but we've had six movies worth of them, and they're all practically the same. Some Clone Wars or Rebels like lightsaber fights would be nice.

What I have always wanted was an actual war. The only real "war" moments in the original trilogy were Hoth and the attack on the second Death Star. In the Prequels, there was some glint of it, but the extreme CGI-ness ruined it.

Besides that, nothing else. I'm an easy guy to please. Heck, I liked Into Darkness, and everyone hated that.

I dunno, when I first saw them I thought the Stormtroopers looked horrible, but when some people made fan art and stuff of the helmet, I grew to appreciate it. But the armor looks weird. Too white and simple, and plastic. Thought they would put hyper detail into the armor this time.

I'd like it not to dwell on the original or prequel trilogy much. If the trailers are any indicator, though, this film is going to be an overly safe fanwank contest though which is disheartening to say the least.
I agree, what I hope most of all for this film is for it to be interesting. Say what you like about the prequels, I actually like them a lot, but for any flaws they did have they at-least were memorable and tried something ambitious. My great fear for VII is that it'll be a generic and forgettable space romp with little going for it except nostalgia ... I hope to be proved wrong there.

Though, I think those in this thread hoping for a grittier angle or a proper war shouldn't raise their hopes too much. This is a family space opera being produced by Disney, not Saving Private Ryan in space.

I'm not a huge Star Wars fan, but I was invested enough in it when the prequels came out to realize that something just wasn't quite right. So I guess what I'm looking for is something which finds a way to recapture that wonder from the originals, without feeling too much like fanwank, or insulting them in any way. Even the prequels, as easy and tempting as it would be to throw in some kind of a dig against them. It needs to honor the past without doting on it while telling a new story which carves its own path in the Star Wars universe.

I also feel nothing was lost when it was made known the extended universe novels wouldn't be considered canon for the movies. I was always under the impression they were their own thing anyway, due to the multiple authors and lack of creative oversight. I couldn't imagine anybody expecting Disney to add all of that baggage to the movies, but apparently I was wrong.

As far as the helmets, I think it makes sense for them to be simple. There are, what, millions of stormtroopers? The empire would have to turn out armor and weapons by the thousand. Simple is cheap, and speaks to the bounds of uniformity and budget that militaries operate within.

Less Jedi, more space battles. I want to see (already established, not new for the sake of new) capital ships slugging it out, and fighters dog fighting and making bombing runs. I want to see New Republic fleets hunting the rogue Imperial warlords. I want to see Admiral Thrawn.

Clearly none of that will happen though. It's going to be a Jedi circle jerk.

I would like a good solid adventure story. Focus on fun action more than anything else. The whole series is basically an update of the old 30's adventure serials after all. I would also like for the stormtrooper we saw in the teaser to actually be a stormtrooper and to be a character. Seriously, give the skeleton men something to do other than bumble around getting shot.

I want a good story. That's about it. I don't really care what it's about, if it's done well, then it will be good.

Definitely less Jedi. In the original films the Jedi were intriguing because they were all but extinct, remnants of an ancient order whose final power struggle was taking place against the back-drop of galactic chaos. And OK, it was worth exploring the glory days of the Jedi order in the prequels, but we've done that now. I'd like to see the rebuilding of the 99.999999999% of the galaxy that wasn't wielding a lightsaber during the Rebellion. I'd like to see the scattered fleets of the Empire regrouping on the edge of the known galaxy in an attempt to take back what they've lost. I'd like to see Thrawn.

That the Sith Lord lives up to my first impression, that he is serious, calculating, powerful and preferably not a cartoon villain that shouts "ULTIMATE POWER!!" as he shoots force lightning. A competent imperial military force, as in storm troopers that are not complete jokes but something to be feared. A new republic that tries to maintain order while avoiding turning into new tyrants.

In short anything that is not GOOD VERSUS EVIL, it is so bloody overdone. Especially in the Star Wars universe, how about antogonists with a goal, a dream, an ideal instead of being evil for evil's sale? How about there actually being selfish individuals in the new republic that saw an easy way to power.

Battlefront II was enjoyable because it gave an alternative perspective on things.

I want to see Han Solo crash the Millenium Falcon into a golf course and then get taken to space hospital.

I....don't know how much you should expect that with Abrams at the helm. He's....not very good at subtle plot and writing. He's pretty much all flashy, in your face motivations and big action. So, yeah, I suspect you will be disappointed.

I just want there to be a lack of stupid comic relief in a movie that is not dark enough to warrant it. Both Ep 1 and 2 were horribly dragged down by terrible comic relief in the forms of Jar Jar and C-3PO when there really wasn't that much darkness to the stories at that moment that it needed relief.

It is my opinion that J.J. Abrams took Star Trek and made two Star Wars movies out of the franchise. I enjoyed the Trek reboot and its sequel because they felt more like SW movies, which I have always enjoyed more than ST. They were just fun. If Ep. VII can have that same fun feeling with a decent story, I think I'll enjoy it.

Honestly I want to see a group Jedi Vs Sith fight like in The Old Republic trailer (at 2.00)-

Seriously how did I know wanted that concept until I saw that trailer? We got one on one Jedi Vs Sith fight, Jedi vs an army fight but no group Jedi vs Sith fight?

A good story, obviously. And either better CGI, or less of it. Seriously, what's wrong with prosthetics and animatronics?

yep, you probably are right on that. Still, it will probably be worth my money regardless.

On topic: Oh! Can I see mandalorian, preferably a female or a whole group. One the is not Boba Fett or Boba Fett Senior. The mandalorian culture is one of my favourite parts of the whole setting.

A nice big climactic space battle. The spaceship fight were always my favorite part of the original trilogy, but the ones in the prequel trilogy just didn't feel right to me. So yeah, more X-wings and Tie-fighter dogfighting while capital ships pound each other. It's called 'STAR Wars' after all, not 'Glowstick-Twirling Pedestrian Wars'. Have some war between the stars.

Don't focus solely on Force users, whether Jedi or Sith. Not saying there shouldn't be any, just that not everything should revolve around them. Han, Leia, Chewbacca, Lando ... none of them Force users[footnote]not during the original trilogy, so don't bother pointing out EU Leia[/footnote], but they got shit done. How many character that weren't Jedi or Sith from the prequels actually really mattered? Not many.

*Breaks out nerd spectacles.*

The movies takes place when only the Rule of Two Sith order was in effect, so there were only ever 2 Sith, with a few Dark Jedi minions to cling to their boot heels. That's why we hadn't really seen a mosh pit fight of lightsabers like that put to screen before.

Granted, the Rule of Two is pretty well and truly done, that could happen now.
