You stand in an ancient crater, a small piece of strange technology lying at the centre in front of you. A light flicks on, the motion sensor embedded deep in the old supercomputer detecting your presence. You move closer, and a woman?s voice starts to speak calmly.
Hello and welcome to StarCommand?s main chamber. Here, in this room, is where the leaders of the various races that populate the galaxy meet to discuss politics. The gravity of the words that pass the lips of those who speak here is appreciated by all, as the slightest slip can cause an inter-solar war.

Indeed, welcome to StarCommand. In this RP, the players (You, among others) take the roles of the leaders of the various races during the galaxy?s golden age. History is yours to make. The most primary threat is the other players, and their fleets. However, mysterious threats from deep corners of the galaxy are awakening.
Right, with the introduction out of the way, I can get to the actual game play.
As it says in the title, this is a strategy RP centred on commanding fleets of ships. These are ships you will produce using money at your planets. The game is divided into turns, which will end after everyone has posted their orders, or after 24 hours.
I?ll divide the specific parts into different headings
[HEADING=2]Ship Combat [/HEADING]
Combat will be handled in a very hands-on way.
Fights will happen in rounds, with each round ending either when all commanders involved in a battle have posted, or after 24 hours. Your post during battles should include:
An In-Character section where you describe the orders given to your ships. This can be done from the perspective of anyone involved in the battle.
A Summary of your orders put in a spoiler box, to make it easier for people to get at the actual orders you have given.
After the round is over, I shall put up a post describing the state of the respective navies, and starting the next round.
But, how do you get those pretty ships that shoot shiny guns?
Well, that falls under?
[HEADING=2]Planetary Management [/HEADING]
Each planet has 4 slots on it for buildings, and you start with 2 planets, and two buildings on each.
There are 4 building types.
Automated Foundries generate money, and can be upgraded to increase production.
Inter-Solar Trade Centres increase income from trade, and can be upgraded to increase income even more.
Spatial Dockyards produce ships, and can be upgraded to reduce production time.
Galactic Laboratories Research new Guns/Hulls/Shields, and can be upgraded to increase research rates.
[HEADING=3]Producing Ships [/HEADING]
You can give planetary orders every turn. These include producing ships. You only start with two hull types available, Cruiser and Scout. Scouts have 3 slots for weapons and shields, but are faster. Cruisers have 5 slots for weapons, and are your battleships at this stage of the war. They will take a certain amount of money and turns to produce.
[HEADING=3]Research [/HEADING]
You can choose to research one of three paths, Guns, which will unlock new big weapons you can stick on your ships. Hulls will give you bigger and better types of ships. Shields will unlock more powerful shields with which to stop your ships being blown up.
[HEADING=3]Outfitting Ships [/HEADING]
Each ship has slots, which you can fill with weapons and shields. A small shield generator takes one slot. A weapon takes one slot. They do stack.
[HEADING=3]Trading[/HEADING]
You can start up trade routes with other civilizations, which will increase both civilizations revenue per turn.
Finally, A sheet template:
Alright, let?s make inter-solar war!
