Third Lynching:
Galt sat at his lab testing the samples of tissue he got from everyone while they were sleeping. Even though Larenxis was in an uproar about this Galt knew the job had to be done. The killer was still alive among them.
Later at night everyone was called to the command center.
Staff Sgt Band began to address the crowd, which was beginning to thin out, ?Alrighty. One of you guys has been goen? round killing off the rest of us. Two ghosts have been killed, our Wraith pilot, two of me own and our engineer. Some of ?em was killed outta our own stupidity. Killion the scientist was shot by the engineer but is alright now.?
Killion nodded still holding his bandages around his neck.
C.P.L emerged from the crowed, ?I think we know who did it. Rob Inglis. You?ve been to overly happy while the rest of us have been dying. You also seemed to have a grudge against P.R and surprise, surprise, guess who showed up dead next. I bet you could have made that bomb out of the Goliath?s missing rocket. What do you have to say before I blow your brains across the room!?
C.P.L raises his gun at Rob?s head.
?Hey, come on now. I just tried to be optimistic in the bad times, you know giving a helping hand and all. You?re not going to kill me just for that??
?Don?t kill him. We can just lock him away until Galt?s tests are finished!? Larenxis yelled at the Ghost. ?Why does everyone here have to go around killing everyone of the first sign of inconvenience? If so Killion could be the killer as nobody died while he was unwell. Why not Galt? With his tests, he could have been drugging people. Why not me? I mean I could have been fooling you all! What I?m trying to say is, lets not act irrationally until we are defiantly sure on who?s doing it!?

The Ghost didn?t move his eyes or gun barrel from Rob once.
?We all know it?s too late for that now. If we hesitate another one of us will go. It?s time to end this.?

?You ca?? Rob shouted before his head blew apart spraying the insides of his skull across the back wall. His body collapsed in a heap as gravity dragged Rob?s limp corpse to the ground. Blood began leaking out from the torn hole that was his head.

The Ghost lowered his gun. ?Let?s all hope we were right with this one.?

*Galt stood looking into the tank containing the dead Protoss. Futar lay in a heap on the ground, the toxin had clearly shut down most of his systems, he seemed near death. Suddenly, Galt noticed that a small gem on the body began to glow . He fished it out of the tank and held it up to the light.

With a crack of lightening, the gem zapped Galt and he collapsed on the floor. Hours later he awoke and tried to gain his footing. He slowly blinked his eyes and saw Futar standing beside him. A sudden rush of words flooded his mind as he looked at his minion. The beast seemed less human than before and it's eyes glowed with a strange radience. The gem had somehow merged the alien's consciousness with the body of Futar!

Galt's struggle to combine human and Protoss had more or less borne fruit as he was now able to telepathically communicate with his minion. It began spouting various crude phrases as it's augmented mind tried to speak. Before Galt could rejoice however, a gunshot sounded out in the hall. He grabbed his pistol and ran out the door, Futar behind him.*

Forth Murder:
Killion and C.P.L were sitting around the table. Killion still inquisitive about the Ghost?s nature. Suddenly Jonathan Galt rammed open the door in a rage.

?All right! Which one of you brainless, backbiting, imbeciles decided to take Futar!? he pushed out with a struggle of words.

The crew looked at each other. This couldn?t be happening. They had grown use to odd occurrences always meaning the worst.

?Just calm down??
?I don?t want to calm down Killion. I was doing very important tests on Futar, ones that the Confederacy could have promoted me for and gotten me my own little lab away from all of this. And now somebody has done something with him because he?s not in my quarters right now.?
?Come on Galt, Kurt, Band and Flaman probably moved him.?
?Now why would they do that??
?Because you sent them up to see you in the lab.?
?What in the graces are you talking about?! I didn?t ask for any of them.?
?You didn?t send them the data to collect the processing from your lab??
?I was in my bunk you fool. Then I noticed that Futar was gone. I didn?t ask for anyone to come to take ?processing?s? of any sort.?

At those words they rushed off to the medical labs knowing the grave fate of Kurt, Flaman and Sgt Band. When they got there they met a grotesque site. The lab window was sprayed with blood. C.P.L peeped through the clean gaps in the window. Flaman lay on the other side, ?gutted? to say the least. Kurt lay half off the table? his other half was on the other side of the room. Suddenly Staff Sgt Band began banging on the glass where C.P.L was looking. Band?s eyes were red and blood dribbled from his mouth.

?Damnit man. What is going on in there?? Larenxis said pushing forward to see the commotion.
Dominic strode forward. ?It seems Galt?s creature just spread a disease around. One that turns people into raging psychopaths.?
?What are you talking about? You mean that chemical virus that you created. Is my Futar in there with those people?!?
At that moment Futar began to ram the side of the glass as well.
?It would seem so,? Dominic said in a grave tone.
?No! I was making progress with him!?

Dominic turned around and walked away. ?I would suggest you gas the inhabitants of the room. I?ve dealt with this virus before.?
Larenxis started talking. ?So someone gave Galt?s pet the Rage virus and lured Band, Kurt and Flaman in there? Dear god.?

Killion looked at C.P.L, ?Well, it looks like we?ll have to gas them then.?

C.P.L looked back at him, ?What! And destroy the evidence! That?s what Dominic would want us to do, seeing how it was his virus and all.?

This was the work of the murderer. It seems as the less people there are the more determined he has become to killing the rest of them off.

Rules:
Gah. Three in one. Who saw that one coming. Back to working it out again. Who is the infamous killer?

*Galt looks into the room, Futar begins snarling and charges the window. The young proto-consciouness inside him all but gone. He stares indifferently at the gruesome scene. He quickly composes himself before speaking*

"Alright, gas the room and keep it sealed off for a few weeks, from what I know of the virus, it can still linger on the host after death. No one goes in to retrieve the bodies, ever. Larenxis, I trust you can enforce a quarantine of this level."

"I'm sure I can handle a quarantine, and I'm sorry about your... 'Futar'." Larenxis gently scratched at his beard for a moment. "I know I didn't do it, I don't think Galt did it, and Killion and C.P.L. were alone together without either of them dying... That only leaves Dominic!"

Larenxis dropped his hands to his side and poised to grab his pistol. "Dominic has the knowledge and experience to use poison, to build a bomb, to use the Rage virus... And let's face it, he's not renowned for his high morals." He turned to walk after Dominic, and said loudly, "Dominic! You're the killer, aren't you, you bastard?!"

*Galt rushes towards Larenxis and grabs him.*

"Goddamnit Lar, not now! We need him alive. If it's Dominic, then there must be another. He wouldn't be able to sneak up one the ghost like that unless he had help. Whoever's doing this isn't acting alone, there must be a protoss collaborator among us. If we can get to the double-agent, we can get to the contact. If we eliminate the agent, then we still have the other to deal with. Patience my friend, we'll kill him soon enough. I won't let this go unpunished."

*Galt smiles and turns away. He then strides off to the lift so he can observe the status of the backup-Futars growing in the lab.*

"I'll go with you Galt, I don't want to be alone while the killer is on the loose." Peers at Dominic. And then to Killion and C.P.L., "If I were you two, I wouldn't seperate."

*Galt and Larenxis enter the lab. Several tanks hold the bodies of the backup Futars. Larenxis seems horrified at first by the still-monitored body of PR but tries to keep it under control. Galt gazes into one of the cloning tanks.*

"Hard to believe a few simple molecules could transform a man into this. Ah the Canis Helix, what wonders do you still have locked away inside you."

*Galt notices the look on Larenxis' face.*

"Hmm? Oh yes, everyone of these bodies came from a living human. Years ago I was given a body and access to an ancient database. All I could wrestle out was a chemical recipe for what went on to become the Helix. The Confederacy wanted a new breed of military police, and I saw the potential there. The Helix changes the host from the inside out, imprinting it with a crude intelligence and the distinctive physical changes. If I can get a comatose patient, I can have him up a walking in a week or so. In fact, the preivous commanding officer of this very base served as the basis for my own personal Futar."

*Galt seems lost in the nostalgia of his experiments and continues to gaze longingly into the tanks.*

"I've seen almost every horror that can be done to the human body out on the battlefield, but this... this is something else," said Larenxis averting his eyes from what was left of PR's.

"Have you got any liquor?"

"Never kept any in the lab. The day I stoop to the level of those drunken grunts is the day I fling myself out the airlock."

*Galt picks up a small glowing stone and drops it into one of the maturing tanks.*

"Just a pinch of consciousness..."

*The stone dissolves in the mixture, the body convulses for a moment and the settles down.*

Forth Lynching:
Larenxis looks at Galt taking his eyes away from Galt?s experiments.

?We better lock Professor Davidson away. If it is him he should be stopped.?
?Yes true. I have worked with him before and I know his methods are? unorthodox to say the least. He just set my work back a few months so I am feeling in the mood to watch that Ghost deal with him in the manner we have all become acquainted with.?
?Why can?t we just lock the bastards away? This would have stopped most of the killings from before.?
?I do agree with you, but try telling C.P.L that, or his new pal Dr. Killion.?

Galt and Larenxis enter the room where Killion and C.P.L were talking. C.P.L looks over to Larenxis and Galt.
?We think it?s Davidson. Everything adds up to say it was him.?
Larenxis walks over to the table that the two were sitting at, ?Try not to kill him this time. Just lock him away so that the Confederacy can dispense of him.?
Killion looks over at him, ?And then he?ll open his mouth about how we killed the others. We made mistakes, yes. But I?m not going to get court martial over an inaccuracy that was due to our own stupid fears. No one knows how many people are down here and if we kill the good Professor then nobody will. It sounds melancholic of me to say that, but we have been reduced down to no other option.?

Larenxis was taken back. Killion was right. Davidson has to be silenced to clear all of their names. It was horrible to think that but he was right.

The Ghost stood up, ?I?m assuming that the science freaks and the good surgeon would want me to do it??
At that he got up and left to Davidson?s lab.

As C.P.L drew closer he upholstered his rifle and went to the door. He tapped on the key code but it came up READING FAILED. The bastard had changed his locks. The ghost pulled out his electronic lock pick and busted the lock on the door. Silently the Ghost entered the room and was met by a scene of horror. Davidson was busily carving away at the dead body of Alpha. Some of the other bodies were strung up on the walls as well.

?You sicko. So this is why you wanted to kill us, so you can do your tests on us?!?
Davidson turned around startled. ?My door, how did you??
?Never mind that,? the Ghost said taking off the safety to his gun, ?because you?re about to become one of your test subjects.?
?These bodies were useless just sitting around. I need them for my experiments! I wouldn?t use live humans at the moment!?
?And you never will!?

A gunshot echoed through the base once more.

*Galt is monitoring the maturing Futar. The gunshot quickly sounds off and fades.*

"And justice is served once more..." he chuckles to himself.

The last murder:
C.P.L reloaded his gun happily. This massacre was good for him. I guess you could call it a massacre, what now that only four people are left after the fourteen or so survivors. Along time away from any help, a mysterious murderer, trapped with nowhere to run, all his friends murdered; t?was a dream come true for the lone ghost.

Killion was in his study area while Galt was with Larenxis. The two had formed a bit of a friendship during the harsh times. Galt busily showed Larenxis around his lab and was generally happy that someone could witness his work before the killer would strike again and end it all. They were even starting to consider the fact that maybe another was in the base that nobody knew about stalking them. The night grew late and Larenxis left Galt to resign to his bunk, assuming that Killion would also be there. They left the Ghost as a guard, a better or worse? They didn?t want to answer. When Larenxis get to his bunk, he noticed that Killion wasn?t there. Larenxis, left immediately to go look for the Ghost.

C.P.L had his night vision on and the lights shut off. His finger by his barrel and gun at the ready. A small drip of water from the vent above started to trickle on the Ghost. Foolishly he looked up for an instant to see what had triggered whatever had let off the water. He heard footsteps running towards him. With lightning speed he looked back down and aimed his rifle. A light from a torch shone into his night vision. He had no time to take it off and had to fire blindly at whatever made the light. Before he could an almighty whack stroke the side of his face knocking him off balance. A knife was grabbed and shoved through his visor. As his lifeless body slumped to the floor, the murderer knew that should be the last hard part out of the road.

The alarm was triggered in the base. Larenxis ran to Glat?s lab.
?Galt! The Ghost is dead!?
?What!? How do you know that??
?I was just there. I saw his body.?

Killion ran into the room.
?C.P.L?s dead!?
?We know that,? Galt said to him sternly, for know there was not a lot of people to trust.
Larenxis looked at both of them, ?It?s kind of ironic. The last people you would think to kill anyone are the last people left.?

Rules: Last time to lynch. If you get this one wrong, well it?s all over red rover.

*Galt stood quietly in the room. The mature Futar had hatched during the night, now stood beside Galt upright, like an ancient homonid. The beast had the look of intelligence about him. It's gaze shifted wuickly from Larenxis to Kilion.*

"Well...we've got ourselves quite a jam here. Three non-combatants left...Let's see...Larenxis, you're medical training and psychotherapy leaves you without means or motive for the killing...and I was busy tending to the new Futar most of the night, so it appears our dear friend Killion has some explaining to do."

"Killion, the great undergraduate. What better way to get off this rock than to butcher the inhabitants and parley with the Protoss for escape. Nothing here matters to you anyway. You've no stake in this station. You've been tuning that suit of your's for enhanced psychic inhibition or so I was told. Thus allowing you to eliminate three of the Confederacy's ghosts. And finally, you have an expertese in the workings of nuclear reactors, allowing you to easily rig the generator to blow and eliminate Nato. Hindsight's always 20/20 don't you think?"

(I'm back! Finally!)

Right back at you, Galt. I hadn't been listening to the part of me that said it was you who was most suited to this, because I respect you. But that just makes me more confident in your abilities. I don't know WHY you would do this, but no one here seems to have a clear motive, and you know plenty of secrets. I can only picture YOU keeping a cool enough head to beat three ghosts at their own game, and Futar does whatever you want. In fact, I'd say the only reason I'm alive now is because Futar has shown a small level of attachment to me in the past. You wouldn't want to risk it hesitating. I could kill someone if I needed to, even one of my comrades, but I would need to convince myself it was neccesary each time and would show obvious signs of the deed. My emotions would make me slip up. Larenxis might be capable of murder, but I doubt it. You think clearly in any situation. But you wont win. I know you did it.
