The End:
Killion looked at Larenxis. ?No, you can?t possibly take his side! I mean, what if he?s the killer!?
?I?m not going to kill you, we?ll lock you up for the rest of the time until the Confederacy arrives in a week or so.?
?No! What if Galt kills you then? Then I?ll be trapped.?
?Killion, it?s for the be??
Galt raised his arm. ?Futar, kill!?
At once Futar began to glow and spark. Bolts of electricity flew out of Futar and into the scientist. Larenxis stood back against the wall in utter shock. Killion moaned as his insides began to cook. A single thought bounced around Killion?s mind, ?I should have been wearing my suit to confront Galt. I?m an idiot. I don?t want to die.?
Killion?s charred coupes feel to the floor. Galt blinked at Futar who immediately stopped.
?Galt, why??
Galt turned to him to confess his means behind the slaughter of every one of the survivors.
?Why? I?ve been studying the mind of the Protoss for many years now. It?s remarkable really. Such a highly sophisticated and complex vessel, the Protoss mind, far superior to any humans. Until now. A year or so I found a very rare and powerful crystal with untapped properties to harness and control the mind through telepathic wave links. I was only handed a small sample by Terran officers who deemed it, ?small enough not be a nuisance.? I spent quite a lot of my time trying to track down and acquire more of it. Do you know why this planet was priority with the Terran Confederacy? Why the Protoss attacked us when we landed? Because there is one of these crystals here. A Khalis crystal. The Protoss are trying to use it to fight the zerg, but I can use it to fight both; Protoss and Zerg,? Galt?s face shifts to a darker mood, ?and man! I couldn?t control it?s properties directly so I had to use a channeler. My Futar. The first one was a failer and I had to get rid of it. What better way then frame the good, yet morbid, scientist by using his own virus against him. I had to kill you all off to leave no evidence to find. The Confederacy would come and they won?t be able to find me or my crystal. I did hire that bafoon Alpha to kill you all off but he wasn?t too helpful in that field. After a while of killing you all off and watching pathetically as you tried to pin each other for the crimes I started to enjoy myself.?
?How did you catch the Ghosts off guard.?
?Glad you asked that. I?ve been bursting to tell you allhow I did it. The Khalis crystal tampers with the telepathic wave links. The Ghosts became as easy and as weak as the rest of you lot. I?m surprised as actually made it this far intact, what with the risks and all. Anyway, I will depart soon as I have called for my pick up who should be arriving in about the next hour or so. I surely did make good timing. I called a freelancer to come at this time before the battle commenced, so now you can see why I was a bit rushed into killing off the other three. I will take my research with me and the crystal and leave this place a smouldering crater. I?ve already found a nice secluded place in the off worlds where I have already set up a mercinary camp and a science base with a few of my employies. The value of this crystal you can seriously buy your own planet with this.?
Galt turned around and began to walk away. Larenxis began to follow when Futar walked infront of the door.
?I wouldn?t do that if I were you. You last moments could get very painful. Well to that I bid you adieu. Glad that you out of all people could see it through and appreciate the complexity of it all. Farewell. Hahaha?
Galt?s laughter trailed off down the hall. Sure enough about half an hour later a ships engine was heard thundering outside. Futar?s eyes watched Larenxis?s every move. There was no escape at all. Soon, the ship will fire off a torpedo and destroy the base. The Terran will think it was a Protoss ship that did it and take months to find out what happened to the crystal. As Larenxis realized his impending doom, a few tears ran down his cheek. That bastard got away.
