"Why would Galt kill Futar though?" Larenxis spouted at Killion. "It's got to be you. We all know you have an almost unnatural curiousity when it comes to how ghost's minds work and you..." Larenxis realized how weak his argument was and grew quiet, stroking his beard and pretending to think. "Blast it all," he said, and sat down on the floor, arms dangling on his knees.

The End:
Killion looked at Larenxis. ?No, you can?t possibly take his side! I mean, what if he?s the killer!?
?I?m not going to kill you, we?ll lock you up for the rest of the time until the Confederacy arrives in a week or so.?
?No! What if Galt kills you then? Then I?ll be trapped.?
?Killion, it?s for the be??
Galt raised his arm. ?Futar, kill!?
At once Futar began to glow and spark. Bolts of electricity flew out of Futar and into the scientist. Larenxis stood back against the wall in utter shock. Killion moaned as his insides began to cook. A single thought bounced around Killion?s mind, ?I should have been wearing my suit to confront Galt. I?m an idiot. I don?t want to die.?

Killion?s charred coupes feel to the floor. Galt blinked at Futar who immediately stopped.
?Galt, why??
Galt turned to him to confess his means behind the slaughter of every one of the survivors.

?Why? I?ve been studying the mind of the Protoss for many years now. It?s remarkable really. Such a highly sophisticated and complex vessel, the Protoss mind, far superior to any humans. Until now. A year or so I found a very rare and powerful crystal with untapped properties to harness and control the mind through telepathic wave links. I was only handed a small sample by Terran officers who deemed it, ?small enough not be a nuisance.? I spent quite a lot of my time trying to track down and acquire more of it. Do you know why this planet was priority with the Terran Confederacy? Why the Protoss attacked us when we landed? Because there is one of these crystals here. A Khalis crystal. The Protoss are trying to use it to fight the zerg, but I can use it to fight both; Protoss and Zerg,? Galt?s face shifts to a darker mood, ?and man! I couldn?t control it?s properties directly so I had to use a channeler. My Futar. The first one was a failer and I had to get rid of it. What better way then frame the good, yet morbid, scientist by using his own virus against him. I had to kill you all off to leave no evidence to find. The Confederacy would come and they won?t be able to find me or my crystal. I did hire that bafoon Alpha to kill you all off but he wasn?t too helpful in that field. After a while of killing you all off and watching pathetically as you tried to pin each other for the crimes I started to enjoy myself.?

?How did you catch the Ghosts off guard.?

?Glad you asked that. I?ve been bursting to tell you allhow I did it. The Khalis crystal tampers with the telepathic wave links. The Ghosts became as easy and as weak as the rest of you lot. I?m surprised as actually made it this far intact, what with the risks and all. Anyway, I will depart soon as I have called for my pick up who should be arriving in about the next hour or so. I surely did make good timing. I called a freelancer to come at this time before the battle commenced, so now you can see why I was a bit rushed into killing off the other three. I will take my research with me and the crystal and leave this place a smouldering crater. I?ve already found a nice secluded place in the off worlds where I have already set up a mercinary camp and a science base with a few of my employies. The value of this crystal you can seriously buy your own planet with this.?

Galt turned around and began to walk away. Larenxis began to follow when Futar walked infront of the door.

?I wouldn?t do that if I were you. You last moments could get very painful. Well to that I bid you adieu. Glad that you out of all people could see it through and appreciate the complexity of it all. Farewell. Hahaha?

Galt?s laughter trailed off down the hall. Sure enough about half an hour later a ships engine was heard thundering outside. Futar?s eyes watched Larenxis?s every move. There was no escape at all. Soon, the ship will fire off a torpedo and destroy the base. The Terran will think it was a Protoss ship that did it and take months to find out what happened to the crystal. As Larenxis realized his impending doom, a few tears ran down his cheek. That bastard got away.

Damn... I thought it was Galt the whole time(well most of the time anyways), but that was because of the patterns in his writing. He was one of the ones who got really into it and he acted a lot like the way I would have if I was the killer. Killing the engineer was just stupid, it wouldn't be one of the people who never talked, but I couldn't figure out a reason why my character would think Galt was the murderer. Besides, I wanted the game to last as long as possible. But I didn't want to lose. Come on Larenxis! I made it seem like I was the killer at first, but still! I made such a nice speech!

Ahh well, I was gone too long I guess. (I loved this, I'd gladly participate in another one. It got better at the end though, because the people who were left were all active. It would be nice if we knew everyone who joined was going to play.)

Well bullocks. Good game though. I was a bit disappointed that 'the container' only came up once, and after that the killer seemed extremely talkative. With someone as smug and superior as Galt, you'd think he'd do the villain's monologue. But yeah, good times.

*Galt looks out of the shuttle. The barren planet below grows smaller and smaller with each moment. Galt walks over to the pilot and does his victory jig.*

Wow, that was probably one of the most fun things I've done here on the Escapist. You guys did a great job playing your characters. Also, thanks PR for giving me the dubious honor of being the murderer. I loved tailoring the character to fit the murders. We should do this again soon, maybe something in a fantasy setting or perhaps WH40k.

Well not really, considering in all of the murders you role played all of our characters into doing something we possibly didn't want to do, but meh, it was fun while it lasted.

Before I lost access to my computer, I had a plan in place to make myself look like the killer, then act all shocked, then become a paranoid reclusive who only trusts a couple people, but trusts them absolutely. I never had a chance to put the last one in play, but planning it was extremely fun.

MORE PLEASE!

I'm gonna try to direct the next one if PR doesn't mind, I'm thinking something along the lines of an Imperial cruiser plying the warp. I guess I should get started on creating a background for it.

TRIPLE post.
Combo Breaker!

Thanks everyone for the applause. The only thing that didn't work out was all the one-time posters that decided to play at the start and never did. That's why I rushed it at the end since only about 3 or 4 were playing. Maybe make it a rule or something that people we trust should play?

I'd be glad if Galt could do the next. Since you did win, it would be fitting. I would imagine a W40k one would be fun, but we probably should all be the same spieces. I don't see how a Eldar and a Tyrinid would co-exist. "Hmm, it seems the body was consumed and fused into the hive mind. I better the human did it!"

If this becomes a running thing on the Escapist I might do another (one day) based around Mass Effect. It would just be fun to talk like an Elcor.

Lastly, thanks to everyone who participated. It was fun to watch you all play through the events. It would be fun to do that again.
