Nice to see my opposite from an alternate universe, I've always said the exact opposite, and will continue to do so.Volkov said:Hardcore gamers don't tend to play single player, sorry.
Dreiko said:Anyone can do an 18-hour marathon, the hardcoreness is in keeping playing a game for years, mastering it and improving your skills, competing with others and pushing each-other to new heights.
In fact, if you truly love a game, it is only natural, rather than hardcore, to play the hell out of it.
I finished Final Fantasy XIII with it's 50+ hours of gameplay in just 5 days...and it was an imported Japanese version just so that I'd get the original voices, but I never thought of the act as "hardcore".
Unless I miss my guess its in regard to the punishment involved.kman123 said:Why did you put wood in your mouth?
Yeah, much as has already been stated, that is just blatantly wrong. Not only is hardcore gaming not exclusive to multiplayer, Multiplayer practically eliminates anything that could be considered "hardcore" about multiplayer gaming. Seriously, sort of hard to be "hardcore" when you know you didnt do it yourself, and had to rely on 4-16 others to get you that win.Volkov said:Hardcore gamers don't tend to play single player, sorry.
They'd rather multiplayer with no clearly defined goals so they can't arbitrarily declare they are better than someone who has no desire to compete.Volkov said:Hardcore gamers don't tend to play single player, sorry.
So pro-gaming isn't "hardcore"? Professional CS and SC2 players aren't "hardcore"? Dude... have you seen those fucking guys? They're inhuman.TooMiserableToLive said:Nice to see my opposite from an alternate universe, I've always said the exact opposite, and will continue to do so.
What lying communist told you that?Volkov said:Hardcore gamers don't tend to play single player, sorry.
was more humour and sarcasm at the definition of a hardcore gamer in the OP than anything else?Volkov said:Hardcore gamers don't tend to play single player, sorry.
Are you saying rookie league to the consistent play time? If that is the case than I have you beat, ever heard of the 7 day war back with Halo 2? Ya, I participated in 2 of them, in the same summer. Needless to say, never again. I played the whole time... 65k kills for the FFA and 25k kills for Juggernaut. I won the FFA and got 5th in the Juggernaut, only because I refused to use guns and stuck with the swordZing said:Rookie league.
I played WoW for 36 hours when WotLK came out. I subsequently quit the game for a year, but it still counts!
Alright, alright. Maybe not the exact opposite.Stall said:So pro-gaming isn't "hardcore"? Professional CS and SC2 players aren't "hardcore"? Dude... have you seen those fucking guys? That makes less sense than the guy who said hardcore gamers don't play single player games.
Beavers? Woodpeckers?kman123 said:Why did you put wood in your mouth?
You know who else puts wood in their mouths? OH I should stop.
18 hours though...that's impressive. I heard that game is about 60-80 hours long.
