I'm getting a new PC in April next year. so can I buy some games in the christmas sale, but then install them on a different PC afterwards?

Of course, as long as you have a Steam account you can install them on as many computers you want to

and if the game is on both PC and mac, can get the game on my PC and and macbook for one price?

Yep, this is how it works! You get both versions of the game . Both are subject to the unlimited downloads, download wherever, etc.

The only one that made me raise an eyebrow was Just Cause 2, I've gone through every dev catalogue, every pack and every individual game sale listed and none interest me.
Don't suppose you'd be willing to make any recommendations would you? I do need something good at a reasonable price to kill the time.
