I'm really tempted to pick up the Unreal Pack. The only question in my mind is just how many people still play UT3?
I found the pc port so horrible I never even bothered playing it... you might find it better though.

The port? The PC was the primary platform, the console iteration was the port.

That aside, I have always loved Unreal Tournament but the game launched three years ago and at this point and I worry that the FPS playing population is far too busy playing Halo, CoD, Battlefield, TF2 and a half dozen other games.

A Question for regular steam users:

I'm getting a new PC in April next year. so can I buy some games in the christmas sale, but then install them on a different PC afterwards?
Yep. Just make sure you remember your steam account name and login.
So long as you are logged in, you can download your games on any computer and play them. There is no limit to how many times you can re-download a game either. Once it's yours it's yours.

So say you were at a friends house and wanted to show him a game, you could login to your steam, download it, then play it. He wouldn't be able to play it though after you left because he wouldn't be logged in.

edit: TRIPLE NINJA'D. A new personal record.
In addition to that, you wouldn't have to download and install it again if they already had. I went to a friend's place recently and logged into my own steam account on someone's computer so we could play L4D2. You can even see the games they already have installed and purchase them to your account immediately should you wish to.

Just remember there are games on sale not in the catalog. There are over 1,000 games on sale :)
Holy shit you're right! I remember last year scrolling down the specials tab daily to see if there was anything I wanted. It's gonna be harder this year to get what I want :(

It's good fun. Good engine, great car sounds and a good map to drive around in. Downsides are taking the wrong turn in races and the startup sequence if you are not a fan of Guns and Roses.

It definitely doesn't feel designed for a pc, I assumed it was a port rather then a really shoddily made game.

So far I bought the Indie Mix Pack and Super Meat Boy (along with everyone else it seems). I'm going to drool to myself until the sale is over.

Just idle curiousity, did anyone win a game or two in the treasure hunt?

I'm entered in the big one, and I assume all the 2 day ones too, but I ain't gonna hold my breath, be nice if we hear from even one escapist who won something tho.

I know it's pretty long odds however :D

So far, I bought Square Logic, the new twist on Sudoku, magnetid, the Judge Dredd game, and Wonderful end of the World, the Katamari Damacy rip off (but by the guys who made aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa! and it's been pretty fun so far.)

Still got a wishlist needs buying, but not in a rush.

If you have any interest in logic puzzles however, give Square logic a go, it's so much better than Sudoku, I don't even like that stuff, but I like this.

I knew this would happen, damn you Steam sale!
I already spent too much on the GoG and some XBLA sales and now this.
More deals on games that I can neither really afford nor have the time to play but can't pass up on all the same.
I still have about 200 store bought PC games collected over many years that I have never even installed but steam is just so convenient that I even buy games I already own.

As mentioned above don't forget to check out if a game you like is available in a package deal!
For instance: I wanted to buy The Void and found out it costs as much as the Indie Fright Pack which it is a part of.

Fuck, Steam's gonna drive me into the ground. Bought ARMA 2 Collection, Super Meat Boy, LFD2, and STALKER CoP.

Total Damage: $54

I'm not sure I want to see what the next day of sales will bring (is there another day of sales?)

Also, 666 games under $5 O_O

EDIT: Ahh, crap, FEAR is on sale. I guess I'll get it. Add $2.50 to that counter up there.

I strongly urge everyone who sees "OMG DEALS" on anything but the specials to wait till January 2nd if possible. There's always the chance that the game you want will go on a daily special, and be on sale for an even lower price.

Of course, that's if you can wait. The $10 Hitman collection is so... tempting... Gah.

I think it has been "temporarily disabled" because their servers were getting slammed too hard. I hope it comes back, it was really convenient.
