The obvious one that I see is that you should pick up Recettear while it is still on sale for 75% off. Also the Stalker games are 75% off.

my suggestion if you're spending money is to not buy anything unless it is on a daily sale or a flash sale and if you've already missed when it was on sale this year all you should do is hope they put it back on sale before the end in a flash sale or community vote or start saving up for the fall sales
Recettear? Alrighty then! I've been eyeballin' that one for a while now.

Yeah, I planned on not spending any money unless of daily or flash sales.

Hence, why I purchased F3:GoTY and soon to be New Vegas. I've already played both games on consoles and decided to see what could be done with mods.

So after that... I'll have $10.

Got any more suggestions?
1 or both of the STALKER games or sub out one of the STALKERs for Super Meat Boy. All 3 of those are part of a sale that ends in a little over 5 hours and you're unlikely to see any sales on them better than they are right now

I got Portal 2.

Aaaaaaand that's it.

When you realize Steam is not abusive DRM only when you're using it to play multiplayer games its catalogue becomes smaller than GoG's.

So far, let's see...

Jade Empire
The Legend of Grimrock
The Path
Ys: Origin
Ys: Oath in Felghana
Analogue: A Hate Story
The Binding of Isaac + DLC
Dear Esther
Fortune Summoners
L.A. Noire
Bit.Trip Runner

Some of those games (like Jade Empire, Fortune Summoners, and The Legend of Grimrock) I'd been dying to play for a long time, and was just waiting for a good sale to pounce on. Others, like Dear Esther and L.A. Noire, were more impulse buys.

I have also been tempted by the Assassin's Creed series, Batman: Arkham City, and the Prince of Persia series (minus Sands of Time, which I already have). But I think I'd rather play those games on a console. I know I can always hook up my controller to my PC, but it's just not quite the same experience.

Between Steam and GOG, I am never going to get through my backlog... T_T

I plan to get more Saturday, but for now:

Fallout 3: Game of The Year $5
Fallout: New Vegas $5
Recettear: An item Shop Tale $5
Deus Ex: Game of The Year $5
Super Meat Boy $3.75?

Total money spent: close to $25
If I had bought all of the games without the sale: $85.

Thank you, Gaben!

I can't remember the exact price of everything, so I'll just be giving a rough guess.

Left 4 Dead 2 = $4
Saint Row the Third + various bits of DLC = approx. $20
Dungeons of Dredmor = $1.99
Psychonauts (bought for a friend as I already own it) = $2.99
Secret of Monkey Island 1 & 2 SE = $2.99
Dungeon Defenders Quest for the Lost Eternia Shards DLC = $3

Doing pretty good. C:

I just got a brand new PC, and just in time for the steam sale, here's everything I got, including F2P items:

Amnesia
APB Reloaded
Audiosurf
Dear Esther
Deus Ex: GOTY
Deus Ex: Invisible War
Dreamfall
GTA:SA
Hydrophobia: Prophecy
Just Cause 2
Longest Journey
Mirror's Edge
Puzzle Pirates
Star Wars: KOTOR

....... I have weird tastes don't I? Borderline schizophrenic you'd say. Also, I got DX:IW because it was the first DX game I ever played, which may be why I didn't hate it. And Hydrophobia was picked up too because I was one of 3 people who really liked it. Also Also, APB because I like crackdown and saints row. So far I spent around $40. I may plan on buying the Meridian4 collection. My favor of shovelware continues to fascinate even me.

Star Wars: Republic Commando (I know see why it's so awsome.)
Amnesia: Dark Descent (a little anxious to play it)
Arma 2:CO (for DayZ)

That's all so far, I would go for Bethesda Pack sale but my laptop can't run most of them :\

I would totally buy Thief: Deadly Shadows but it doesn't run on laptops. Too bad.

So far I bought Left 4 Dead 2 and Hearts of Iron 3

I feel that both were mistakes. L4D2 is L4D1 with a few new items and gameplay modes. HOI3 is plagued with a HORRIBLE tutorial, and I'm just terrible at it.

Same here!

I really thought I was done. This AM, Portal Bundle, both 1 & 2: $7.

I'd like Crysis 2, but I got very pretty Metro 2033, which is an FPS so I think I can wait till next year. As it is, I think I got a great variety of games for about $40 TOTAL!

Metro 2033 $4.99
Dear Esther $2.49
Fallout Vegas w/ 4 expansions $9.99
Witcher 2 Enhanced $15.99
Portal &
Portal 2 $6.99
LA Noir $4.99
Bastion $2.49
Amnesia Dark Descent $4.99

But I have to stop!!! I really can't think of anything they'd add on this last day in a Flash sale I can't refuse. Hey Valve! That's a dare!

okay I have 30euros and think i'm going for

vampire the masquerade bloodlines (14,99)
Kotor (5,39)
Scratches the directors cut(2,49)
Call of cthulhu dark corners of the earth (5,99)

any ideas on what I should change or go for instead of Call of Cthulhu? or is deff worht it. I freaking love horror games but if it's just gonna be a crappy shooter I don't want it.

Here's mine:

The Witcher Enhanced Edition Director's Cut - 2 Euro

That's it. No, really that's all I bought. I guess I'm one of the lucky ones.

Crusader kings 2 and that's it considering I've already put over 30 hours into it I haven't really seen any of the other deals, good value for money though. It was the Game of Thrones mod that convinced me.

Sale seems to be winding down now. Seems unlikely I'll get anything else.

Jade Empire - $8 - I've been playing this one. Graphics/controls haven't aged well, but the story is old-school Bioware and surprisingly entertaining.

Alice: Madness Returns - $5 - I liked the original, even though it was deeply flawed.

Dead Space 2 - $5 - Snap decision. Rainy day game.

Metro 2033 - $5 - I've been wanting to try this for a while, as I love post-nuclear stuff. Price finally got nice and low. Mostly interested as this seems to be a well thought of game on these forums.

Mirror's Edge - $5 - I had this on the console but the control scheme was bonkers, hoping the PC version is more intuitive. I'm terrified of heights so I should get some cheap thrills if nothing else.

Galactic Civilization II - $5 - Never tried this, love strategy, love 4X. Price couldn't be beat.

For the Girlfriend...

Doublefine Bundle - Stacked, Psychonauts, some Halloween thingy

An Indie Game she wanted I can't recall the name of

Dragon Age: Origins Ultimate Edition...she's played (and replayed) this, but she loves Bioware, and this has all the expansions and content packs, which makes it pretty tempting for her.

I'll jump on Arma II if it ever goes up for more than 20% off, but that seems pretty damn unlikely at this point. Was tempted by Batman stuff and also Assassins Creed, but with GFWL and the way Ubisoft keeps imploding their servers I figured I should give them a pass.
