I bought Hearts of Iron III complete, and nothing else. I bought an iron heart so I could resist the temptation.

I've actually had some self control this time around. All I've bought so far is Dear Esther, Bioshock 2, and Torchlight. However, I was VERY tempted to buy Saints Row: the Third, Just Cause 2, Orcs Must Die, Half-life collection, and Duke Nukem Forever

Got Metro 2033 for $4.99 and Dear Esther $2.49. Esther only took me about 1 hour to finish, but at that price, well worth playing. I can't believe someone got LA Noir for $5. That isn't what it was when I last looked!

So far, Metro is really special looking.

Question: If I lose my internet connection, does that mean I cannot play Steam games even solo?
There is an Offline Mode for Steam
Good to know, thanks! So far, other than using up my bandwidth to download games, I can't think of a complaint about Steam. Another plus on Metro: my xbox controller works with it.
And I just found this out: Go into Steam -> File -> Backup Games -> Select the games you want to backup and the location (External HDD). As long as I just one account around the house, I can copy my games from place to place and play them where I want.

LA Noir went back down to $4.99. I'm downloading it now!

Assassin's Creed
Assassin's Creed II
Assassin's Creed Brotherhood
Assassin's Creed Revelations

(Assassin's Creed III looks fracking amazing, so I'm finally getting into the series)

The Witcher
Orcs Must Die

I've actually been fairly good this year...

I'm tempted on actually buying Sim City 4 since I put a lot of time into that but don't.. ahem.. actually own it. I can get lost into that game for hours and not even realize it. I highly doubt it'll get marked down to 75% off so $10 saved would still be nice.
My reaction when I actually saw the game up for vote and win and then proceeded to buy it?
Just wow.

I just signed up for steam THIS year, I know I am a bit late to the party, but I never had a pc that could handle games. Now that I have my new laptop with very nice specs I decided to get back into gaming, which I haven't been involved in since maybe...2004.

The first game I got was Terraria, but unfortunatly I got it before the sale...as I said I am new to steam and only vaguely remebered there is a big sale every summer. I then got Team Fortress 2, but it being free doesn't really count.

So when the sale started I decided to dive in a 'little' and get a 'few' games. I am pretty alright with my money, so I have only got 2 games from the sale so far. Killing Floor and Dear Esther.

I would have gotten Deus Ex, but I am not positive if I can run it on high settings. I would also like to get Counter Strike: Source and maybe something else.

Although my comp can't run much, I've gotten Legends of Grimrock, Age of Empires 3, and the complete GTA 4 collection.
Everything else good I either have, or don't really feel like buying, even though they're really cheap...
Captcha wants me to "create new things." I don't know how to respond to that.

well i got red alert 3 + expansion because i remember i used to like it, then just bought dragon age origins. i really am trying to not spend much money, but then i realise that i already have a metric fuckton of games that i bought at the last sale, and just haven't played.

i also got the witcher and the witcher 2 on gog.com for like £11... that has got to be a rival to the steam sale prices...

Terratina.

Hah! No games emptied MY wallet! I never had any money to begin with!

Hahaha!

Ha... ha...

*sob*

Wanted to buy Crusader Kings II, though. Been put off by most FPS/RPGs lately.
Ha! I bought it recently before the sales. Imma gonna wait until next year's, when I will have time to play all of them.

Oh for the love of everything that is holy, The Witcher series is on sale now! With the TW1 being $2.50 and TW2 being $20! BUY THEM! I know I sound like a corporate shill, but by far THE best RPGS I have ever played. Screw DA:O, it pales in comparison to the Witcher.

Witcher 2 maybe, but the original's combat's just so bleh, which won't do when it's the majority of the game.

So, to tally up all I've bought:

Serious Sam 3 BFE
Nexuiz
Hard Reset
Binary Domain + DLC
Ys: The Oath of Felghana
Mount & Blade: Warband

Money allocated to sale: $50
Money remaining: $8.76

I felt the same, but just turn it down to easy and experience the amazing story and characters the game has to offer. It really is the only RPG I've ever played where choices had consequences attached to them without being "good" or "bad" ALA every Bioware game ever.
