I think Halo is cool- haven't ever played the 3rd but the other 2 were totally cool on the PC.
IMO Halo is good because it's got that 'ep1c' feeling about it. And that's (again IMO) very much because of the excellent music that perfectly fits the game. (and is very good)

This was more of a "Why Halo is better than CoD4" rant.

I could sum up your entire post in 2 sentences.

"It's a case of Trial and Error, if you don't find a plan that works for you the first time. Try something different the next time until you get it right."

While this in theory seems the better choice, it's technically a worse choice. The set-pieces repeat themselves, and I pretty much remember where every single Jackal perches it's ugly self after you hear those 2 blasted Pelicans yell.

"I can't she's breaking off!"

"Watch your thrusters she's going down!"

At least with CoD4's parametres it's a new playthrough every time, even if you do remember that after you blow up that huge Power line, Gaz falls on his ass when tugging at the fence. Don't think I'm some angry CoD4 fanboy, because I love Halo 3 times as much than I do for CoD4, I'm just saying that in this scenario, CoD4 has it beat.

My main problem with Halo, especially 3, is the way it handles levels. You start at one end of a long corridor, it maybe painted like a canyon or a valley or a big open space but its a corridor. You move from one end to the other killing every thing that looks at you funny, you reach your destination then for some reason or another, the orb of heavenly smitting isnt there for example,then you turn around and fight your back out.

Now this is pretty much what you do in every other FPS only in every other FPS you just move forward so at least you have a sense of progress.

Or at least thats my own personal opinion.

Anyways to be honest the only Halo game i really really liked was Halo 1. After that the games just became a bunch of ok games that were fun but not that great.

Okay, I've played the first Halo on my laptop. It was OKAY. Not Half Life 2 okay, but Serious Sam okay.

Halo 2 requires a bloody Vista, so it instantly becomes a pile of puke. Especially since it has nothing better than it would on XP. Graphics? Crap. Gameplay? Pff. Physics? Yeah, right.

Halo 3 is popular thanks to multi, I guess. Something we've had since ancient times. My first online game was Diablo 2 in 2001...

Especially vomit inducing if you're riding shotgun.

It's really hard to flip a Ghost when you're jousting. My buddy Brian climbed up into that tree near one of the bases via the barrel of the Scorpion and then said, "Ha! No one can get me up here" (he was waiting for a warthog to become available). My brother took a Ghost, boosted as he hit a hill, and killed Brian as he sat in the tree, which meant the Ghost was stuck in the tree until we blew it down. Totally hilarious.
