Owning a horse just because I live in Corrales.[footnote]That's Corrales, the small village outside of Albuquerque, New Mexico[/footnote] Not ALL of us own horses. Only most of us.

Also, any stereotype related to being a twin/triplet. Yes, I know I look nothing like my brother. I OBVIOUSLY must be lying about being related.
I think I may have it slight worse than you. I live in horse country (its an area out side of Miami), which is named as such becuase it one of the areas were people are allowed to keep horses (zoning and all that). Thing is I dont have horse, my family breeds fish and orchids...

I hate that people think all gifted kids must be good at maths. I tell them I am gifted, the first thing they do is give me some crazy maths question, and when I can't answer (because I suck at maths) they assume I was lying about being gifted and laugh it me.
It happens ALL THE FUCKING TIME. What is it with people?
I have the opposite problem, Im gifted and I can do math and science like it nothing. But grammer spelling and writing totally baffle me.

Seriously people, why do we have all of these extra letters lying aroung "Im looking at you slient H's and G's". Why isnt every thing phonetic, that way english wouldnt be made primarly of exceptions.

Oh and Im dyslexic, so that doesnt help at all. It really annoyed me when I asked how soem thing was spelled and I was told to look it up in the dictionary "*****, I need to know how to spell it to look it up". Also when people hear that Im dyslexic they assume that Im all around disabled. Ive got a IQ in the low 150's, a reading level of 22+ (This I the comparative to how many years a person has bee in school with out beign kept behind) and I can read at aroud 300 wpm.

1. Stereotypical "nerd". Yes I like games and yes I like science but that does not necessarily mean I have no social skills (or life for that matter), am obsessed with D&D (never tried it, probably never will) and spend all day indoors.

2. Every British and Scottish Stereotypes there are. I like tea, I like books and yes I've met the Queen but that's just well... okay so maybe there is some truth in it but I'm not against foreigners and I don't where a bowler hat. and no I'm not drunk and wearing a kilt...

3. "Swat" (Suck-up, teacher's pet whatever you want to call it) I do the work to get the grades to get the job to get a good life. Just because my ambitions are not those of benefits and council house does not make me a loser.

Rant over, happy posting =)

I get called an emo sometimes, but only by chavs. Who, for their part, have a surprisingly limited idea of what an emo actually looks like. I'll give you a clue though, between my honey-blonde hair, bright shirt and "Keep Calm and Carry On" tee, it isn't me.

I also get called a nerd - again, only by chavs. This is after I have spoken words - and basically any words will do - that the metamorphosis from self-loathing, black-clad masochist to intelligent, awkward social reject initiates in their perception of my good self.

And when I'm on things like Omegle, people seem to assume that since I'm British certain things hold true. For instance...

American Girl: omg yur english?

Me: that's right

American Girl: so do you like drink tea?

Me: no, can't stand the stuff

American Girl: omg really!? what about crumpets?

Me:...damn it, I do love crumpets
I should have lied and told her I didn't like those either, cause now I've just enforced her bizarre pre-judgement.

I know everyone says this, but I really don't feel like I fall into any one stereotype. I do what I do to get by and please myself and others, that's about it.

Ginger: YOU HAVE N-... actually upon retrospect having no soul has its benefits

The brutal giant: I am 6 foot 5 inches at 17 until people actually get to know me they think ill be this angry giant brute BUT here's the fact i don't want to go to jail and i am trying to come to terms with death right now so the only thing I'm killing is something virtual.

Futuristic Teenager: Those old people make it seem like i cant imagine life without technology, i cant i have learned about it a long time its been shoved down my throat so many times. Besides i have lived many years as a child outside without technology and i remember them thoroughly...kinda.

I like other woman, that doesn't mean:

1. I have penis envy.
2. I hate men. I have tons of guy friends.
3. I'm political, i'm not marching through the streets spouting feminist rhetoric.
4. I do not go out of my way to look like a man, nor do I want a partner who looks like a man.
5. Yes I still shave.
6. No I am not, and will never be in an open relationship. Committment for the win!
7. My sexual prefrence doesn't define me as a person. I'm not part of some massive group, I don't attend rallies, and I don't identify myself as a part of the "gay community". I am not your gay friend, i'm not going to help you pick up woman, i'm not trying to steal your girlfriend.

You can be a gay guy without being flamboyant, the same way you can be a lesbian without being a bull dyke. Why is this so hard to understand?

Being a fighter I get called stupid a lot or a thug. If I was a "Thug" I wouldn't go to a special ring or gym to punch people I'd do It in the street. As for the stupid thing ....Well not yet after I've been Ko'd a few times then maybe I'll end up like that.

Also being a Wow player people seem to think I'm a nerdy white kid who lives in his mothers basement.

O and because Im 6"3" I have GIANT penis. Well there not all bad I guess.... Although this can back fire from time to time

Oh another one. Just because I like underground hip-hop does not make me a wigger.

1. As an anime fan, I'm often grouped with those anime fans. You know, the ones that go around screaming "Kawaii Desu". I hate them... also weaboos.

2. I'm a 15 year old American, that comes with thousands of its own stereotypical traits.

3. I'm kind of short for my age (5'7), so I am automatically an un-athletic, wimpy nerd, which isn't helped by the fact that I play video games and watch anime.

I'm white and I live in Texas. I'm apparently a slack-jawed redneck who is ignorant of every culture beyond my chicken-fried narrow-minded worldview. Oh, and people assume that I hate black people. Um, what?

Unfortunately, my dad is almost all of those things, and people will still associate me with him until the day he dies, and even then people will think that I have some kind of "racist gene" or something.

I can just picture the smear campaigns that my opponents would start if I ever tried to run for a political office. "[My name] may seem like an honest and trustworthy man.... but did you know that his father is a total racist?"

I try to make sure that I don't speak with a Southern accent, but what if I have one that I'm not aware of? When I finally do move up north (or possibly to another country), are people going to make assumptions based on my voice?

I hate being Asian and having everyone assume that I love anime and all things tech-related. Yes, I do love Cowboy Bebop and Code Geass, but who doesn't? I'm also quite outdoorsy and athletic. Not saying anime is a bad thing, I just hate having everyone assume that I've seen/love every anime ever without even knowing me.
This (related stereotype, I'm actually not Asian, I just do a lot of geeky things) I get this and the anti-social stereotype for watching anime, for liking video games, for playing tabletop RPGs, and for liking building my own computers. I'm in Japan though, so I more often get this from other foreigners. Most of the Japanese people I talk to just say "oh, cool," and move on.
I also like camping, hiking, survival camping, skin diving, snowboarding, and cooking good food that doesn't come out of a can or package.
Actually, let me start the list...
I play online games with ranking well, even when I have a low rank, therefore I must be a hacker/cheater. No. I play online games well because I play other games well. I was playing FPSs when they first started making headshots do more damage than other shots.
I like survival camping, therefore I must be a loner, a gun nut, and love hunting. I've got many friends, have never owned a real gun, and have never had a lust for the blood of the animals I respect while doing survival camping.
I know how to build computers, therefore I know how to fix anything computer related. No. While I can fix a lot of things (with the hardware), I know next to nothing about programs. The most I can fix with programs is the same amount you would be able to fix if you ran a troubleshooting, or checked an online forum.
(the biggest one I hear) I am studying Japanese and living in Japan. Therefore, I must either love all anime, or have a thing for Japanese women specifically and want to marry one. Ok, I'm studying Japanese because eons ago, when I was in High School, it was the most interesting and for me easiest language my school offered. I am in Japan because I am still studying so that I can be a translator. While I do like anime, I've not watched nearly as much as many of my other friends who have never bothered to learn even basic Japanese pronunciation (There are only 5 vowel sounds nimrods! How do you screw THAT up that badly!?) As far as the second part, they do have a little point since my girlfriend right now is Japanese. However, 1) I have had other non-Japanese girlfriends before. 2) I am learning Russian as well. Does that make me want to be a Japo-Russian bigamist? 3) Japan. I live in Japan. How many any other type of women are there in Japan? Move. Ing. On.
I play tabletop RPGs, therefore, I must be an overweight, sports-hating nerd. I do not hate sports, and how is it when you're looking right at me that you could possibly think I'm overweight?!
I was raised Catholic. Lets see... Therefore : I am averse to sex, I am a creationist, I am rich, I am a pedophile, I promote pedophile priests, I get drunk all the time, I consider people of other religions devil worshipers, I hate Muslims/Jews/Buddhists/Protestants, I secretly desire going to Rome/Jerusalem, I want to have lots of children, I am a misogynist, I quote the Bible verbatim whenever I have a problem, Feel free to add other stereotypes these are just the ones off the top of my head. Fill in a big "Ummm... nooooooo." here.
I am a white male, therefore I am rich. Excuse me while I have a fit of laughter.
I do martial arts, therefore I can and will punch through faces when provoked. No, I do Aikido. Just... just look it up, I have seriously retyped this sentence trying to explain it at least 7 times.
I like (insert almost anything, it seems) here, therefore I am a ticking time-bomb of face-shooting, bomb-setting rage. Umm.... buhhhh... ehhhh... no.
I'm from America, therefore... no, just no. This one is even worse than the Catholic one.
My dad is in the military, therefore I love war. Well, I do support the military. Mainly, I support the military staying home. Mainly I support the military becoming a vestigial organ now only there as a government free-training/work program. In every country.
I lived in L.A. for a long time, therefore I was in a gang/love gang-related anything. Again, no.
This one I don't actually suffer from, but I have friends who do... All Muslims are terrorists, or hate America.
I know this is a lot, so for the sake of everything, please stop with the stereotypes. I am not a violent man, but I am one that has a limit to their patience.

Ginger(I'm not completely ginger but it pisses me off): They're still people dammit!

American: I am fit, skinny, and well-informed on most issues and I don't speak on issues I have no knowledge of.

Teen:I am kind, considerate and courteous to all ages/races/creeds and I know how to behave in public.

Nerd: well, I enjoy it, **** off jocks.

I understand completely. I cringe every time they use it inappropriately, or go on about how much they love "nay-ROO-toe."
Of course, now I'm in Japan. I've other things to deal with...

Mostly run-of-the-mill stuff; shy and quiet makes people walk all over me, smart so I must be a show-off, bipolar so I must be a poser (that's probably the worst, as I had a girl come up to me one day I had skipped a medication and promptly told me that "medicine doesn't wear off that fast". I don't know if anyone has been in my place, but skipping out on antidepressants feels surreal)
