Even as someone who hates Apple products, this is very sad news. He was an amazing and inspiring force in the world of technology and consequently everyday life.

WOW! Didn't see this coming at all, despite his health.

RIP. Computing and electronic entertainment would not be where it is today without him.

Yeah, many other people passed away too. Just because he is famous doesn't mean I should care for him more than anyone else.
Oh look, it's this topic again...

I might not like Apple's current stuff, but the guy did pioneer Personal Computers. Without him who knows how the computing world might have looked like. Plus he gave Pixar money when nobody else would. Thanks to his money many brilliant movies were made, movies that because cultural icons.

So, I salute you, Mr. Jobs. Your contribution to humanity is very much appreciated.

Damn, this is a shame...

Oh well...rest in peace.

Admittedly I've never been too invested in Apple, but he was pretty cool guy.

He lived the life of a brilliant visionary and a revolutionary in technology. Now he's in peace.

Steve Jobs will be remembered.

Sad, but I don't know if I'ld put him on par with Thomas Edison like some of the articles are saying.

Never used an Apple product, but he still was a visionary. Not a genius, but he definitely had a huge impact on computer development and technology as a whole.
RIP, Steve Jobs.

I certainly have issues with his products and fanbase, but there's no denying he was an amazing, visionary person and he will certainly be missed.

You shouldn't care about him because he's famous, you should care about him because he was a big part in the development of PCs and the advancement of them.

At the very least without him you may not be doing as many awesome things with computers that you can do now, so the least you can do is stop being a douche about it.

wow... that's sudden. I mean, I knew that he'd battled cancer, but wasn't it only like 2 weeks ago that he stepped down as CEO? Before then he seemed to be doing ok, he must have gone downhill really quick.

I may not like his company much, but I have a lot of respect for the man, so I'm gonna be holding my tongue about Apple for the foreseeable future. Shame, I was really looking forward to ripping on the 4GS...

RIP Steve. The nerd community has lost one of its best.

Quoting one of my friends: "As much as I gave him shit, I never wished death upon him. He was a good, driven man who fuelled competition and innovation."

RIP Steve.

Funny I thought he was doing just fine. How sudden. What will become of the company now? Sometimes when the founders of a company dies the whole thing changes. Just look at what cartoon network was before the founders died. Now look at it afterwards. There are some real differences.
