Like honestly, all I know is Bill Gates owns Microsoft.
Bill Gates doesn't own Microsoft.

Steve Jobs was one of the founders of Apple. Pioneers of modern technology *pours some out*

Wow, I had no idea he was that sick. I wonder if he knew when he resigned.

RIP Steve Jobs, I didn't like your products much but you were a brilliant entrepreneur and shaped much of today's tech industry.

He's dead. I feel awful because I keep making jokes about it already. Suppose its an antisad coping mechanism.

So much for "an apple a day keeps the doctor away".

...sorry, too soon?
i lol'd

or should I say: iLol'd?

but seriously the last Apple product I was in long term contact with was an AppleII

Everything else was pretty much just PC or a non Apple product. I wasn't a fan, but I never hated or bashed apple products. I respect them and I respect Jobs as well, even if he wasn't perfect, no one is.

I just found out myself. Even if you aren't an Apple fanboy or a Mac user (PC person here), but Steve Jobs really did have quite an impact on our modern life more so than a lot of others. I mean with the IPod to the IPad, many if these things many of us have an have to thank Steve for helping to develop. Saying that he had no influence on contemporary life would be considerably false. It is sad to see that he has passed, but I have seen that his health was failing. Rest in peace Mr. Jobs, you will be missed.
His revolultion of the touch interface and the digital distribution markets won't be what defines him for thousands of years- It will be that he was the one that brought the graphical interface to the general population.

Aww, poor guy. We watched a video of him giving a commencement speech (or whatever it's called) in our communications class. Too bad he died so young. A lot of great people seem to.

Sad, but I don't know if I'ld put him on par with Thomas Edison like some of the articles are saying.
Yeah, that's a BIT far.
oh i dunno.

Jobs had over 300 patents to his personal name.

Edison was actually rather shitty and despite the popular perception his greatest invention is probably what we now call the "research institute" and mostly he took the credit for (and patented) the work of other people that he employed.
Not to mention that he was jealous of Westinghouse, because his AC power was better and cheaper than Edison's DC power and, in an attempt to destroy AC power, he used AC to electrocute animals, and even created the first electric chair and executed the first prisoner.
