Honestly, if you're going to count down to someone's death, at least be punctual with the updates. You never saw this kind of shoddy work with Jade Goody's death countdown.

Goodnight, you magnificent bastard!
He is truly a legend, a person who sold computers who has a following that is very strong.
It saddens me that he never got to release the i-rack.

Yeah, many other people passed away too. Just because he is famous doesn't mean I should care for him more than anyone else.
Oh look, it's this topic again...
Yes, yes it is.
What you said applies when kim kardashian dies, not the single most important figure in the history of computing.

He's dead. I feel awful because I keep making jokes about it already. Suppose its an antisad coping mechanism.
Don't worry, you're definitely not the only one.

Oh no!
Who will we turn to now, when we need to steal an OS from Xerox?
Or try to trademark the letter "i"?

The guy was a dick.
Maybe now Apple will finally ease off on the cult marketing...I know, I know, wishes are for kids, but...I really want to see a world where people aren't constantly encouraged to think that just because they paid three times as much for an inferior product, they are somehow "better" than everyone else.

To all of the people hating me that is an actual website and I guess whoever runs it has not updated it yet.

I can't help but feel a little sad. The first computer that I ever got, that was explicitly mine and mine alone was in 1994 and it was an Apple I can't remember The exact model, and I had the most fun on it I think it was this one here http://todoappleblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2007/08/macintosh-color-classic.jpg

Or this one

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/c/c1/Macintosh_LC_575_Picture_2.JPG/220px-Macintosh_LC_575_Picture_2.JPG

Maybe it's just nostalgia (I was just 7), but this was a great computer. It was given to me by a friend of the family and my mom as a present. They saved me from knowing the horrors of Windows 3.1 and for that I am eternally grateful.

I'm getting misty eyed just from looking at those pictures.

I had similar thoughts, I wasn't aware that his health was in this much of a decline. Steve Jobs was a great innovator and changed the technology industry in ways that I doubt anyone could have foreseen. Rest in peace Mr. Jobs!

Such sad news for a person who helped our world. I think this says it all:

Absolutely. Good post man.

This is really sad. I honestly can't imagine how the past ten years would have been without Jobs vision and desire to be innovative. Things like Spotify, musicians releasing teaser/free downloadable tracks, bandcamp, soundcloud, the re-emergence of vinyl, bands having to be creative with the way they release music (secret shows, subscription based music, etc.) wouldn't have happened without Jobs. And so much more...real shame to lose someone like that.

I talked to a Professor today, in his office.
It was about the new website for the institute, which he was responsible for, and how much difficulty he has with setting it up. He talked about how frustrating it was for him, dealing with all the necessary computer stuff and how much he isn´t a "computer-person" and doesn´t really understand anything about it.
When I left, I saw him immediatly picking up his iPad.

So.... bye Steve,
I guess.

Go without your PC, your MP3 Player, Your tablet (if you had one) and remove all those from your life. That is what would have happened in Steve Jobs didn't exist.

Okay, I am being a little over-dramatic however he was a revolutionary. Most of the things were thought of by him. They were perfected again and again by him. Others could have done it, however who knows. It could have taken years longer.
PC...no, he stole that from someone else and charged three times as much for a shiny box.
MP3 player...again, no, stolen from someone else, + there were better alternatives BEFORE the iPod came out, and much better AFTER.
Tablet?...HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA, oh wait, you were serious? Let me laugh even HARDER!

Jobs was no revolutionary. He was good at marketing, I'll give him that, but the man never had an original thought.

Funny I thought he was doing just fine. How sudden. What will become of the company now? Sometimes when the founders of a company dies the whole thing changes. Just look at what cartoon network was before the founders died. Now look at it afterwards. There are some real differences.
Question: What Founders are you talking about? Hannah-Barbera? im just curious

OT: I have never owned an apple product but I respect the man and I am sad to see him go.
