So I recently purchased a new copy off FFVII as mine has not worked in some time. I just got through the Wall Market, that humorous stretch of gaming that has inspired so much homoerotic fanfiction. Up until this point, I have been having tons of fun. Then I got to the Train Graveyard. I still hate it, despite having beaten this game twice before.

Anyone else have any gaming irks whose edge time hath not dulled?
The whole game of Oblivion. Never will like it. Wish it to be erased from gaming memory forever.

Escort missions and Water levels, really, I hate them both enough with a passion.

As for any particular games..if I had to do the music levels for Atlantis in Kingdom Hearts 2 one more *f-ing* time, I was going to strangle myself with the ps2 cord >:|.

Gummi ship levels are kind of annoying too, but my biggest issue is when the creators of games like God of War or Darksiders give you these weird puzzles that you have to do all these things just to set it up, then you find out after awhile there were some secrets and have to untie the knots that you put together just to get to the fricken Secrets!! Bleh! I say, Bleh!!

ESCORT MISSIONS IN NEARLY EVERY GAME!
I hate those. They are in no way fun.
Except ACII one.
It was awesome.
Also, Ashley parts in Re4...
I also found the inFamous escort missions (what little of them there were) to be quite enjoyable.
That bus mission was just fucking AWFUL.
I recently finished the game on hard and platinummed it, so I'm going to give you that one. You are right, but the rest of the escort missions weren't so bad. But that "infamous" Trish bus escort was hell. The man who invented that should be shot.

The start of Fallout 1, you get a brief cinematic with no interaction telling you to go get the McGuffin and then find yourself kicked out into a dull, bland corridor full of swarms of hostile fucking rats without even gettting to talk to anyone. OH WHAT A GREAT START TO AN RPG THIS IS NO WAIT FUCK IT.

And the start to Fallout 2 is even worse.

And people act snobby about Fallout 3 like the original Fallout games are perfect. Yeah, right.

Laggers on any multiplayer game

demon's souls:the fact that you cant pause and that you lose all your souls when you die
this too also, goddd ill have like 10,000 souls racked up and with no warning a massive mofucker comes out and blows through my stamina and chops me up like a well done steak, where the FUCK WAS THE WARNING? WHERE THE FUCK IS MY PAUSE BUTTON OR MY RESET TO LAST CHECKPOINT? urghhhhh...love but hate that game
Warnings are everywhere (online -- bloodstains and messages).
Just brought my second character (Faith build) to New Game+ recently with her Large Sword of Moonlight +4 (yes, the unblockable sword that scales with Faith). The first boss was extremely fun with that set up. Actually, I'm finding the game kinda easy now (except False King... I hate False King).

As for pause, just run to an area you previously visited. Doesn't even have to be that far back. I've done it myself to answer phone calls.

JEDI: Just find your bloodstain to retrieve your souls. Not a problem.
i over exaggerated on purpose there, the pause thing is true, its just i always end up having to pause when i have like 4 archers on me with a flame guy chasing me, and the messages are sometimes tehre, but i have gotten completely owned sometimes by a hidden guy or a spear/shield guy when my stamina was gone, one time when i had a good 8,000 souls built up (im only like level 11 or something, so not gotten that far) i ran down the bridge that the dragon was completely lighting up and at the end there was 3 crossbow guys and the sword/shield guy, and i shielded to block the crossbow shots and while in the midst of that the sword/shield guy times a perfect heavy blow which knocked away my shield and sent me back, into the dragons fire breath which of course, annihalated me

Modern Warfare and Modern Warfare 2. I can't describe it, but I just hate both of those games so much. I at one point even owned the first one. I even forced myself about halfway through the story mode.
So you barely played one and didn't play another, therefore it sucks?

I have tried to like it, but I just can't get to a point when I find Majora's Mask fun. It might be because of my elevated expectations from its prequel, the same reason why I don't really like Super Mario Sunshine.

I wouldn't consider playing halfway through "barely" playing it. I also never stated that it sucked, I said I didn't like it. I also did play the online of COD4, but found it quite a bit less fun than other FPS I was playing at the time, such as Resistance: Fall of Man.

Catching the Noise Tanks in Sky Dinosaura Park in Jet Set Radio Future. That or having to tag this one switch in the sewer level while navigating on broken with no rails (you were on roller skates for those that haven't played.) These are the only two parts I never liked.

What designer thought those were a good idea? I mean Really.

Hand's down, Hex Ring and Bone Mail from FFV. If you selected optimized equipment, it would auto equip them, Hex ring kept you from using magic, Bone Mail kept you from being healed, twas a cruel world : (. But since they were unique Items, I could not bring myself to destroy them. I'd also like to throw in I hate every desert that was ever in a RPG. As a bonus thats where you found the hex ring and bone mail in FFV.

ANY time I see a timer.

On anything.

Fuck timers.
Very much agreed, but I've got an even better one:
You know those moments when there's a timer running, and you know it's running in the background (due to the sound of a clock ticking with increasing speed) but you can't see it? Those are even worse. I just replayed God of War today and off the top of my head I can name at least four extremely bothersome puzzles with said gimmick.
Oh god... the room with the spikes on a timer... and you have to kick the boxes into place to jump up out of the way...

The memories...
... and that'd be the king (and queen) of all annoying timer puzzles in recent gaming history. And you wouldn't even be safe once you're on top of the box, because the spikes would annihilate it anyway (along with your squishy fleshy body).
Seriously, at one point today I was afraid my neighbors would come over and complain about me shouting and cussing so much.
And the spinning blade columns are still to come...

My flatmates were worried about me the day I played through the Hades level.
