I don't know him personally, but from what I can glean from interviews and the like he seems to be a typical, arrogant 12-Year-Old.
Except he's not really that arrogant, and 17.

I do not have a problem with him but with is music it is just...well plain and boring and he gets allot of attention fore people disliking or liking him which leads to me hearing about him allot and I think that is annoying because it is either hate him or trying to marry him.I do not give a shit about him but his fan base and hate"fan base" is annoying and if he would stop making music both of them would disappear.

I don't like him because he's very conformist... though that's my only problem with HIM. I'm sure he's a nice kid, I just don't like his conformist bullshit. I have a much bigger problem with the boardroom executives who continuously try to shove him down our throats... or, if you want a better metaphor, in our ears.

I'd say it's more conformist, or just as, to hate him.

I simply don't care for his music, so i choose to ignore him.

Yes yes, conform to the cult of non-conformers, the herd of independent minds to quote Crichton.
Which is probably where the biggest hatred off him comes from. The whole "He's popular, so I have to hate him now otherwise I'll come off as being conformist" while being oblivious to the fact that they are just conforming to a different group, like sheep jumping into another field filled with other sheep like them selves while screaming about conformity.

I don't think most non-conformists get the fact that they are conformists. If somethings popularity is influencing your actions in any way whether it be positive or negative then your pretty much the same thing. One likes it for the popularity, the other hates it for the popularity rather than taking the music or the person on their own merits and your own musical taste.

I used to dislike him.

Now I just ignore him, and I dislike his music (and voice) when I hear it. That is about the extent of it.

Also, bringing up these threads one after another only feeds more of them in response, so stop creating them and they will eventually disappear. Or only appear in the fringe sections. Seriously.

[sub]Although I do admit, I got morbid humor out of the CSI scene he was shot in.[/sub]

I don't like his music and that's as far as my "picking on him" goes. Even so, I don't try to insult other artists. All that makes you is a music snob. Although I will say hearing him talk like he is some black gangsta makes me want to cringe. Put him in the getto for 5 mins, I'm sure he would not survive.

Not only that, despite everything people throw at him, he's still standing. I find it quite impressive, and to be quite blunt, its a lot more than most people could put up with. Yet he maintains a sunny disposition. Very admirable.
I couldn't agree more.

The thing I have a problem with him is this:
1) I don't like his music
2) I think the only reason he's as successful as he is, is because of little school girls thinking he's soo handsome. I know that some like his music, but I also know a few who have 2 or 3 versions of the same album. When I asked "Why?" they respond by looking at me like I'm an idiot and saying: "Cause Heee's sooo dreamy". Looks shouldn't contribute to music sales only talent.

Edit: Apparently another thread (on escapist) claims his hair shavings sold for $40K, this just supports my theory of liking him and not his music

Besides, why should I stop making fun of him? It's too easy :p

On that topic: He's probably not getting laid because his mom's his manager and probably a total control freak, won't let none of those 'filthy' girls touch him. I'll bet she even picks his dates lol.

I don't like his music. It the kind of thing that will be forgotten in a couple of years... He's the Spice Girls, he's the Backstreet Boys, he's Five (the band... not the age). I get frustrated with people who like him because I know talented musicians who are trying to do interesting and new things with music who sound amazing, who I think should be getting the money that is going to JB.

I like some of his music but i don't care about him. The only thing i hate with him is his fans. They nuts. One spent $40,000 on his hair. He never gets privacey. I just have one thing to say to everyone who hates him, How would you feel being in his case. Would you like millons of people wishing you dead, injered. Come on, He hade no privacy on his birthday. Just leave him and all the people in this case alone. After justin are you going to wish grayson chance dead or that 11 year old who is going into the bussness
Before you wish him or people like him dead think what would happen if everyone said that about you and your family.

I couldn't give a damn about conformist non-conformist or he's younger or whatever. I don't even hate his voice or music, or the guy himself. I just hate what he represents. That being the celebration of mediocrity in the music industry, or hell in the entertainment industry in general. There are more and more talentless hacks "making it big" because of greedy record companies, which means less and less people get a chance, so why bother? It's all about luck, or Usher finding your video on YouTube. I remember when mastering technique used to be, you know, important, and after the hours of practice a day, a musician's interpretation actually meant something. No wonder jazz has fallen off the map.

There are probably hundreds of thousands of kids up and down the west coast, or millions in a place like China, who would be leaps and bounds better at acting, singing, dancing, playing an instrument or anyhow performing than him, and none of them get a fair go. Oh, unless you happen to get on one of those Idol shows, good lord.

I don't like Justin Bieber's music, but that's a genre issue, and I'd attack anyone who liked his style or performed it.

I have no feelings about Bieber himself. The little I've seen of him suggests he's very much a wide eyed idealist, but I can't hate him for it. He got lucky too young, which means that unless he is a complete fool with his money he never has to see a hard side to living, which makes him out of touch, which is annoying, but nothing to get angry over.

He seems to be very aware of the hatred spewed against him, and I've seen him being self-referential to it as well, which is refreshing.

Basically it's live and let live. If no one plays his music near me and lets me ignore him, I don't say anything about him.

He's not like, say, Lady Gaga or someone, who is always trying so desperately to be in your face.

I can't read or describe the symbols in Captcha right now. It's nice that we have this system, makes it such a better forum.

The problem I have with him is the problem I have with most pop culture. He get's so much attention and so much money for a small amount of talent. I won't say he has no musical talent, but he doesn't have enough to justify the amount of cash he receives in my opinion.

I wonder what's goin through this kid's mind right now. Wouldn't be surprised if he did something suicidal.

I've learned to just ignore him

I don't and can't hate the kid. Anyone, I repeat ANYONE would take the fame if it was offered to them. I hate what he represents, that is everything bad about the music industry. Manufactured pop garbage with little soul or effort. If anything I feel sorry for the kid, he doesn't realize that he's going to be put through the "strainer" by the indifferent music industry.

He'll be just like the N Sync or Backstreet Boys before him. The tweens who love him now will grow up tomorrow, mature and realize that better music exists and they'll laugh at the days when they had "Bieber Fever". You could say the same about a lot of bands, but few convey this more than Justin Bieber.

I'm not one of those many people who takes refuge in listening to Classic Rock or Metal (I used to be) and thinks that all modern music "sucks". I think most of the mainstream stuff isn't great and honestly some of the indie stuff isn't great either. But nothing feels better than discovering a modern or past gem. Probably my favorite modern band is the Gorillaz. I don't listen to rap, but they're progressing the genre just like how Pink Floyd and Yes progressed rock. Others would include the Features, the Black Keys, Manchester Orchestra, and the Shins.

Don't generalize an entire age of music, you just got to dig.

This.

Before I get on probation I'll clarify.

His music is cliche, by-the-numbers, and his voice is in no way better than any high school kid with moderate talent.

He got lucky that he met Usher and Usher wanted a pet project. He will vanish into obscurity just like every barely talented pop teen before him.

That "baby" song was so generic I swore they wrote it after reading "music writing for dummies". I shit you not it follows the basic bullet points listed for writing a generic song.

But in closing, what I quoted.
