I just wanted a decent picture of a video game character and voila, I chose Frank West.

Mine is the Brute from Amnesia. It's a cool monster, so I chose it as my Steam Avatar one day. It stuck, and I use it for everything now.
I think you need to redo your post.

Because it's halloween, and I'm sticking with the Castle Crashers motif for awhile more.

Plus he looks so happy :D

Rule of Cool; I just saw this in the Escapist's FMA avatars and thought "Avatar chosen." I'm gonna stick with Pride for a while.

Yes, in those colors, too. Is it the holiday season yet?
Not like it matters; your avatar can MAKE it be the holidays.

What am I even doing? Being long-winded, that's what. I'm a quote and five lines in and I haven't even touched on my avatar. I've got to stop doing this.
Sooner or later I'm going to get carried aw-WHOOPS HERE WE GO

<img src="http://imageshack.us/a/img267/6403/cfavatarxi.jpg" /img> <Right! /html>, so the thing with this swave piece of crap is that the other week I decided to draw a new avatar. This time, I thought I'd stick me in it. Now I don't actually mean a photo of me, because I don't know, I guess I'm not a put-your-photo-on-the-internet guy.
But I can draw.
Well, I have the facilities to draw. A tablet, a copy of Adobe CS5, and a desktop computer. Whether or not I possess the skill is up for debate, but it's probably better than what some other people can do. Heck if I know, I never considered myself an artist. I still kind of don't. Drawing's just a craft I forced myself to pick up despite being severely left-brained.

Onto the actual content of that large(r) scale .jpeg you're looking at. It's me, as drawn by me and as portrayed by one and a half years of screwing around on another set of forums. Protip: screwing around on the internet affects your mind and your outlook on things. On the grey long-sleeved shirt, we've got (the top part of) a logo consisting of a C and an F overlayed askew on top each other. It's sort of my artistic signature stamp of narcissistic self-indulgence.
The lightsaber is what happens when you mix a dense forest green and a pale yellow. It's a long tangential story about the colors, and while you think I probably don't care about length at this point, I still do.
The shades are shades.

The other one is Cybran Derpy, and she's actually a thing I came up with for the Escapist. So what's the deal with her?
Well, Cybrans are weird cyborg people from Supreme Commander who had their brain melded with an AI. That's all you really need to know for now. I wondered what it would be like to take the questionable intelligence and competence of the pony Derpy Hooves, and implant her brain with a supercomputer. I like to think the net result is somewhere around normal.

For whatever reason, I draw Cybran Derpy with body and hair colors a touch darker than what they're supposed to be. She's more focused than canon Derpy Hooves, and I covered up one of her eyes. If you don't get the machinery, don't sweat it. Cybrans always augment themselves with machinery, ranging from light skin-nodes and plating to heavy (and in some cases, full body) technology. Don't ask me why or to what end, because it's never explained.
The logo in the center of her eyepiece is the Cybran logo [http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=cybran+logo].
Long story short: It's me.

Hunter S. Thompson arguably one of the first people to coin the term "Gonzo style writing" which i believe is what the forum title "Gone Gonzo" is referencing.

The man himself is a philosopher and wreck head of the highest degree but i find his writings insightful, sharp and still relevant in today's world. His words can be applied to many situations a personal favorite is as follows

Ron Pearlman is probably one of my favorite actors, what with his repeated forays into Animation and his continuing partnership with Guillermo del Toro. When I found the picture of Mr. Pearlman with a huge goofy grin on his face while reading a Cracked article, it seemed like a good idea for me to use it as an avatar. It's also my Steam picture.

No clue how long I've had this one. I like the double dagger symbol, then added that on part of a background of a PSP background I did:

Mine is just Sonic and Tails, stylized by a popular webcomic artist with the caption, "We're better when we work together."

It was a part of a larger picture that had famous gaming icons and the picture was titled, "Stuff I Learned from Video Games."

I just wanted a new Avatar after the release of Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode 2 and I felt that this image properly encapsulated the theme of the game.

It's the Halloween variation of my very first avatar, which is Cyborg Noodle charging her batteries.

Because I like it.

I had a thing against Bobby Kotick after he suggested adding a subscription mode to CoD multiplayer. I tried changing the caption to 'Kill Him' after he cancelled True Crime (a.k.a. Sleeping Dogs), but it was taken down by a mod; a fair move considering that threats against anyone aren't allowed on the Escapist.

Months later, the executives at EA started acting like the evil empire that I thought Activision was supposed to be. Rather than replacing Bobby Kotick with either John Riccitiello or Frank Gibeau (a.k.a. the "EA should stop greenlighting games without online components" guy), I turned my avatar into a gif and showed all three of them.

My avvy story? Okee...

Well the character in it is Rei Ayanami from Evangelion, obviously. Rei, and this specific avatar image, is something I adopted roughly around the same time that I had joined this site. I did so because this username is one I had been using for years before then, and people called me "Rei" as a nickname. It was only later on that I found out about Rei Ayanami and Evangelion. When I did, and found that I liked the character, I chose to make her my avatar. As for that specific picture of Rei, I chose it because I think it's a pretty picture. :D

But that was then. Today I keep Rei as an avatar less out of any attachment to the character and more because it's become a part of my identity, if you will. People associate names with faces, or names with avatars, and my name is very much tied to the image of Rei Ayanami. For now, since I have no real challenger to replace Rei, that is how it will continue to be. :)

You're a monster.

I thought we were friends.
We are. But I know your weakness now. C'est ainsi que votre amour de la langue française. ;)

Why are you so mean?

What did I ever do to you?

Is it the face?

The most sensible politician since Hammurabi. There's totally nothing ridiculously silly about this man.
