James was sitting at the head of a long dark wooden meeting table, his hands were resting in-front of him. The whole room was completely silent, everyone was watching James nervously, beads of sweat running down some of their heads.

"what do you mean they bought it? you were supposed to get it first, this is inconvenient " James told one of the advisors sitting along the table in a dangerously calm tone.

"umm..... they... they.... were quicker than we expected we couldn't react fast enough...." the man stammered back.

"You cost the company 3,347,233 dollars, get out, never come back," james said simply. The man slumped in his seat, deflated, he stood and walked hurriedly out of the door, there was a long silence then James gestured for everyone to leave. After all the advisors had left James swiveled in her chair to face the huge windows behind him, Urbis stretched out ahead of him, a huge sprawling expanse of grey buildings.

James sat for a while and stared out the window, he then reached down to the floor and picked up a pure red apple which he began to eat, he then stood and began to walk towards to doors, moving quickly but smoothly he went through them then down the elevator to the garage where he walked through the garage somehow managing to make no noise. James got into his sleek black car and drove out of the garage onto the street.

As he left the garage a man dressed in shabby cloths sprinted up to his car and began to batter on James' window, screaming and ranting, James rolled down the window and smoothly slid a knife out of his pocket and into the mans throat, the man spluttered and fell to the ground, James drove on, wiping his knife clean with a crimson cloth.
"Bloody hobos," James remarked to himself.

So lost was Dyme is his music that he hardly noticed the shots. Not until people stopped giving money and started running and screaming. The shots stop, there is an incoherent cry of grief and shame, then the gun bellows once more.

---

James, too, is focussed on his driving, when a hoarse cry and gunshot bring him back into the world. He glances up to see a man narrowly avoid a blue lorry, which swerves wildly and hurtles into the path of James' car. The collision will occur in less than a second.

---

Overtaking a blue Toyota, Christian sees a lorry swerve, and a car plough straight into it...

The blue Toyota just happens to be Quad

"Oh, cripes!" Dyme yelled, looking around for the source of the gunshots. He spotted a number of people streaming out of a church and decided it may be best to move away from that direction as well, so he scurried off into the crowd. Before he'd made it out of the danger-zone, however, Dyme thought of something; what if this was it? What if this was his make-or-break chance to become a hero? Yeah! He could stop the bad guy with the gun, then save everyone and be renowned as a hero! And then everyone in the world would realize that Supers weren't so bad, and ThreeWords could come out of hiding, and they could go on adventures together and- HOLY FLIP CAR CRASH.
Dyme stopped running back towards the church, dropped his guitar from the battleaxe-like grip he was holding it in to let it rest loosely by the side of his leg and stared at the smoking wreckage about thirty metres down the road. Maybe someone was hurt... maybe someone needed rescuing... maybe this would be his chance to be a hero! Yeah! A man with a gun might be starting a bit large; probably easier to begin with something smaller, right? Something with a little less danger of death. He could move up from there.
Changing his course, Dyme flicked his guitar onto his shoulder and made towards the wreckage.

James' eyes widened as a huge blue lorry comes into his path, he tried to break but couldn't avoid the collision "HOLY....,"he yelled as they crashed, sending James hurtling through the windscreen, he flew through the air, dazed and injured, just as he was about to slam into the floor at 40MPH a layer of sand raised from the floor and cushioned his fall.

A few minutes afterwards james awoke, dazed he sat up, he looked down at himself, he seemed relatively uninjured "What the hell.... how did I survive that," he muttered to himself as he clutched his head, there were pieces of glass in his hair and his eyebrow had been cut open.

After a few moments the world came back into focus, and the sound came back to the world, people were staring at him, some had looks of fear on their faces. His car was totaled, and James' Suit was covered in dust and some blood, he stood and brushed the mess off of his suit then began to walk towards the sidewalk with his hand still rubbing his head. He stopped and leant against the side of a building, he took out his phone, it was scratched but miraculously intact, he swiftly put it back in his pocket then stopped and looked around.

Don't worry 3W, I'll PM you about it

Stepping sharply on the breaks, Nathan was able to manage avoiding any sort of accidents, although now there was no way of him getting around the accident scene.
Clicking his tongue against his teeth, Nathan got out of the car and headed towards the path leading out towards the city center. While it would be better to take control of one of the police coming towards the scene, there were far to many people around for it not to look suspicous.

So lost in thought was Nathan, that he almost didn't see the strange sight of a young man carrying a guitar and running towards the accident scene Nathan himself had just left.

"What the hell?"

Nathan muttered to himself, watching the young man. Was he some kind of wannabe hero? And what was with the guitar? Chuckling to himself, Nathan shook his head and kept walking.

Damien heard the squeal of tires, the screaming, and finally, the inevitable screech of tearing metal. And he kept walking. Until... he stopped, one one foot in the air, torn between two decisions. He thought of Amy, Ryan, and Kris, who had finally taught him human emotions again. He cursed. "Dammit, I can't even curse at you since you're all dead!" He sighed as he turned around and began to run back towards the accident, his compassion winning out.

Damien pushed past the people, bumping into a man he recognized from the blue Toyota that nearly ran him over. He paid the man no more attention as he continued on. Damien sighed again. "Why am I doing this?" He shook his head as he elbowed passed a man with a guitar strapped on his back. "Look out, mate. You do not wanna be around here in about five minutes. No-one will, and that's before they arrive." Damien continued on past towards the sceen. He ripped a roof back, coating his hand in the gravity before peeling the roof off like a sardine top. He helped free the people stuck in an accident. Any one of them could have a gun, and any one of them could be anti-super enough to try something, but that didn't matter. All that mattered was helping people out. The next car he devoted his attentions to still had the stereo playing, albeit barely.

"...I don't believe a lot of things,
But I've been wrong before!"

Then the stereo finally died. Damien ripped the entire car roof off, as most of the car had been crumpled beyond salvaging. He shook the man's shoulder. "Yo, mate, you awake? C'mon, I've got maybe a minute to get to the rest. Please wake up."

Matt stood in the midst of the crowd, watching the aftermath of the crash. He'd realised what was going to happen before it did, and had momentarily considered using his powers to try and prevent the crash. But he'd decided against it, knowing it would attract exactly the kind of attention he wanted to avoid. It didn't seem as though the other 'supers' present had the same concerns, however, and Matt didn't have to pretend at all to mimic the looks of surprise that spread through the gathered crowd as a man ripped the roof of one of the cars clean off. Matt knew the authorities would arrive soon, and his gut told him to leave, to avoid being associated with other people with abilities in any way. But, at the same time, his non-exposure to other abilities made him curious to find out what other people were capable of.

The sound of approaching sirens caused Nathan to smile slightly, spotting the one lone police car heading straight for the ramp that would take it up to the accident. Looking up towards the scene he had just left, it seemed like most of the people were distracted by a second commotion happening on the bridge.

The perfect distraction.

Holding his hand in the air, as if to wave to the passing police car, his invisible Spirit Strings slid out of his finger tips and into the two officers inside the car. The vehicle immediately slowed down as it approached Nathan, the back door to the cruiser unlocking for him. Stepping inside, he looked towards the city center, motioning towards it with his mind.

"I have something to look up. Take me to the central or main library in this city"

The cops didn't react, but Nathan knew they would follow his commands. Settling back as comfortably as he could, he closed his eyes as the car made for the Urbis Central Library

Dyme frowned and looked up at the man who had elbowed past him. How very rude! There he was, on his way to save some people, and then this nasty guy shoves him, tells him to get lost and calls him "mate"! Dyme seethed, but resolved to be undeterred by this latest installment. Regardless of the ungratefulness of some members of the common populace-
The man in the black jacket ripped the roof off a car, and all of a sudden, Dyme realized why he looked so familiar.
"Oh my goodness..." Dyme redoubled his speed, now sprinting towards the wreck. "YOU! YOU'RE DAMIEN LIER!" Darting between the people who'd gathered to stare at the wreck, Dyme skidded to a halt by the car and started hopping around like a schoolgirl. "You're Damien Lier! You're Gravity-Man! Oh my gosh, this is the greatest thing that's ever happened to me! I read all about you online! You know, I think you totally could have taken on Dark Mist. All my friends were like, "nah, Gravity-Man couldn't take on Dark Mist by himself!" but you totally could." Dyme noticed that Damien was rather busy, and suddenly snapped back to the situation at hand. "Hey... do you want a hand with that?" Ohmygodohmygodohmgod I'm going to save people with DAMIEN LIER! Holy heck this is so amazing ohmygod...

James' head flicked upwards as he heard the sound of tearing metal, he saw a man ripping the top of a car with inhuman strength, he raised an eyebrow and though to himself "What? a super? here? I need to get the hell out of here."

James stepped away from the wall and began to start walking away from the scene, as he took a step off the pavement onto the street he tried to lift his left foot and could not, he looked down in surprise, his foot was stuck into the ground, his foot had passed through the concrete, "what?!? how?" he tried to wrench his foot from the ground but couldn't, struggling he turned and shouted back to the scene "Someone, help! I'm stuck!"

People had begun to move back to see the damage of the crash, but now fear ran through the crowd once more; supers making themselves public was rarely good news for anyone...

"Run, the freaks are here" shouted a voice, and suddenly there was panic. As James pleaded with the mob, his hands touched a woman's arm and she screamed, lashing out with her bag and catching him a blow to the face, "Don't touch me, you monster" she yelled, "I saw you do that; you're a mutant too, even if you don't know it!"

While the majority of the public were till in fear, those around the woman heard her words, and James needed no power to sense a shift in their minds. They began to gather round him, and now a man was about to throw a punch. Behind him, someone had found a brick...

And above the frenzy, a man in a suit watched from the rooftops, and spoke quietly into a phone.

James tried to reason with them calmly but a man threw a punch at him, to his shock a brick came hurtling towards his head. He suddenly entered a state of focus, the brick stopped in mid air and flew to hover over james head, he crouched with lightning speed at the brick exploded out in a circle around him, knocking all the people surrounding him away, his foot came loose and he began to run towards the supers who were next to the crash site "How am i doing this.... could i be....? no, I can't be, don't be stupid james, some other super must be doing it."

"Hello, I am james, can anyone explain what on earth is going on, I just...well, i don't know what I did but people are angry at me and you seem to be in control," he said to Damien smoothly.

sorry 3W, didn't know who was there, mind is clouded

"Shit!"

Christian, along with almost every other driver on the street, slammed on the brakes when he saw the crash. Some of the drivers didn't bother moving their vehicles any further before they jumped out and went to join the crowd that was split between watching the drama unfold and helping those in the wreck. Christian was a little less hasty. He pulled over to the curb and sat there for a moment. His hands shook with adrenaline for a second, and then became completely still as he willed himself not to move.

"This is Charlie Harrison with WIZD, The Wizard, your music when you want it. That was 'I've Been Wrong Before,' off the new album--"

Click

Christian moved, turning off the radio and getting out of the car. He considered bringing the pistol in the glove compartment, and decided against it. He liked to keep the gun under his coat, and it was too damn hot today for that.

He locked the car (he'd only ever forgotten to do that once, in the excitement of running down a particularly stubborn bounty, and had spent two weeks afterward just finding his car again), pocketed the keys, and began walking towards the crash. Didn't look too bad, from here--well, yes, the car wasn't looking so good, and the truck had definitely seen better days, but he didn't see any blood from here, and people were helping get the victims out of the vehicles, so that was good...

Christian stopped dead in his tracks. Someone had just stepped up and peeled the roof off a car like the lid off a tin of sardines. That was...not normal. To say the least.

And it looked like this super had fans. Or a fan, at least. What was that the boy was shouting?

"You're Damien Lier! You're Gravity-Man!"

...Huh.

Maybe he shouldn't have left the gun in the car.

Too late for that now. Can't let this opportunity slip away. Lier looked like the sort of tough customer that this high a bounty would be posted for, but that didn't worry the bounty hunter. Sure, the guy was a super, but all that meant was Christian wouldn't have to pull his punches for fear of hurting the man beyond repair. Supers could take it. The fanboy might be a problem--he was babbling something now about reading about Lier online. That kid would not be happy with Christian taking away his hero, and he didn't look like he could survive a Christian Factor haymaker. Have to be careful there.

He was pushing into the outer edge of the crowd when someone shouted, "Run, the freaks are here!"

A woman screamed. "Don't touch me, you monster" she yelled, "I saw you do that; you're a mutant too, even if you don't know it!"

Oh, no. Oh, shit. He'd been so concentrated on Lier that he hadn't noticed the mob forming. This wasn't a crowd gathered to watch a crash scene; this was a riot waiting to happen.

Something exploded, and the crowd surged back, carrying Christian with it helplessly for a moment. He changed his assessment of the situation. This was a riot already happening.

"Okay," he muttered, "Fuck this noise." He braced himself against the tide of humanity crashing around him, the rioters moving forward and the fearful falling back, and in the flicker of an eye he was like a rock with waves breaking against it. He did not move an inch, intent on maintaining his position, his eyes carefully set on Damien Lier and his strange crew.

The sound of a riot caused Nathan to slowly open his eyes and look in the review at the scene he was were leaving behind. It seems he wasn't the only super inside the city limits.
Turning back towards the two officers driving, he motioned to the radio between them

"Contact your HQ, find out whats going on over there"

He commanded, turning back to watch the people and the supers. While he could simply infect one of the bystanders and experience what was going on first hand, he really had no intention on wasting his time attempting to accurately infect someone at this current range.

"Sir, HQ has reports of Supers using there powers to attempt to disrupt traffic on that highway. Riot police on are on the way to attempt to keep things as peaceful as possible but the reports state that people are really getting angry over there"

Nathan chuckled as he settled back down. It was a shame that people were getting so worked up, but he could understand the reasoning of why. He could order the cops to turn the car around, head back and help them...but if they were dumb enough to use there abilities in the open, then they deserved what they were getting.

Damien sighed. "4.6. 4.6 billion years, and 6.5 billion people on this planet, and I meet the one man who could screw me over at the one time where I can't do anything about it. When the hell did I get a fanclub, anyway?" He shook his head. "Get out of here, kid!" He hissed. "If the Company gets wind of you yellin' that name, you're dead, no matter how innocent you are!" Damien felt the hairs on the nape of his neck rise up. He looked up and thought he saw the shadow of a man. "Crap, if Carter saw, I'm a dead man." Damien shook his head. "Why did I do this?" He muttered to himself.

Damien helped the woman out of the car and got slapped for his troubles. The woman clutched at her hand in pain, while Damien's face didn't show a single mark. "Supercondensed body." He explained. "Doesn't damage well. Hurts if you try, actually. But you already knew that, didn't you?" The woman ran off screaming. "Ungrateful *****." Damien muttered. He looked up as a brick hit his barrier and slammed into the ground. He sighed as a man asked him questions. Another Super, by the looks of it. He sighed. "You're a super, there's millions of dollars on my head, and we're getting the hell out of here, if you have any sense whatsoever." Damien nudged the guitar boy. "Mate, go a different way then me. With any luck, you won't be seen as a super, just a do-gooder in the wrong place. Good luck. If you're stupid enough to wanna meet me again, I'll be at Byrant Park." He whispered, then gently kneed the man in the stomach. However, Damien's 'gentle' left him gasping for air on the ground. Damien then leaped over the cars and through the crowd, trying to get away. He ducked into an alleyway to escape.

James stood, then raced after the man, as he ran he began to realize just what he could do, "I... am a super!" he jumped into the air, as he leapt two chunks of the road flew up, "FREAK!," a woman yelled at him, her face contorted with fear as the chunks soared up above her and slammed into his feet propelling him very quickly towards the alleyway. As he approached the ground he slowed himself by pulling up sand from the ground and cushioning the fall, he landed with a hiss as the sand fell to the ground, he turned to Damien and took a step forwards, as he lifted a foot a large chunk of the ground came with it, James looked down, shook his foot twice, sending the chunk against a wall.

"Who are you? I heard that kid call you gravity man, are you?" James asked Damien with a confused and exhausted look on his face. "I'm too far in to back out now, I have to do something...."

Damien sighed as he slowed down to a walk. He saw another poster with his face on it. "Oh joy, I'm already up to 300 million!" He snarled sarcastically. He flew the paper over to James. Damien started to speak. "About... 3 years ago, in Gen City, the supers began to appear in droves. Excuding myself and 4- scratch that, 3- were eventually driven insane. Over the years, our powers continued to grow stronger. For some, this meant they could never come near another human being without killing them. That was after a month. I've had my powers a bit longer, so the Company is paying top dollar for me. Don't believe the poster though- if you turn me in, the most you'll get is a bullet to the head." He said, after seeing James' expression. "You're welcome to try, though." Damien shook his head and continued.

"Gen City was shelled, everyone in it was killed or taken as experiments, and the city was vaporised. Ever read 1984? Like that, only on the city scale. The city became an un-city. Not only did it not exist, it was made so that it never did exist. The Company has far reaching arms. You would do well to stay out of them. Anyways, I think the same thing is going to happen in Urbis. Somehow, Supers seem to be contaigous. Whenever some appear in the city, the whole place begins to develop powers. The same thing happened in Gen City, and probably a hundred other cities all throughout time."

Damien moved a single finger. The ground all around James ripped itself in its haste to obey Damien's command. The large rocks flew around James and Damien, then rose above the two of them, circling faster and faster. They all crashed into each other, and started to compact until a ball the size of a baseball lowered itself in front of the pair. "I'm a gravimancer or gravikinetic, depending on where you believe our powers come from. All of gravity is my domain. Terramancy seems to be your area." He saw James' expression then smiled. "No, I don't really think this is magic. However, I like the sound of Gravimancer better than Gravikinetic." He shrugged.

James looked at the ball, raised a hand towards it, this ball turned to dust. "That answers a lot of questions, I used to know a man from Gen city.... but after a while... I was unable to contact him, all the phones were dead, I never saw him again," James said, a hint of gloom in his voice "What is your plan now? do you have somewhere safe?"
