Strange fears you have...

i am so afraid of it i cannot say the word. it rhymes with comit and it happens when you get food poisoning or the like. i fear it so badly that it even overshadows my fear of death, it effects my daily life, the decisions i make and so on. im actually afraid of alot of things too many to mention here but this is the worst one and ive never heard of anyone with this same fear either.
as for the person who said that they were afraid of being in the dark alone, and they wondered why everyone had moved on from this fear well your not alone in the dark because i have the same problem, ive been afraid of the dark since i can ever remember and im 20 and i still am but if someone is in the room with me even if its just one person, im not scared. secondly the person who mentioned not wanting to look out the window at night, yeah, freaks me out too.

I'm afraid of balloons, but not when I'm the one holding them. That way I have the control.

Also, things that buzz when they fly, until I know for sure it's just a fly or something that doesn't bite/sting. I've never been stung by a bee or a wasp so I don't know if I'm allergic or if it really hurts that much.

I'd have to with high open spaces and shopping malls get me stressed out as well.
I am good with crowds, but when my wife and i go to the shops my panic kicks in... after a brief freak out period of about ten minutes i am good though.
I can't do heights in games either. I have desensitised myself somewhat though.

oh and the Hadron Collider freaks me out.. yeah lets all make a black hole centered around the earth.. game over

A friend took me to Six Flags recently. I almost had a panic attack.

Might want to check up on that. I get unwell (as in, heart starts to pound, having trouble breathing, and basically on the verge of freaking out) when I'm in the middle of a huge crowd, but not really afraid. Diagnosis: Avoidant Personality Disorder. Probably an evolution of my self-awareness.

mine is anyone in my close family dieing, it mightbe obviouse but about 8 months ago my father was almost killed when he started this huge old backhoe(it's like a huge tracktor with a bucket crane on the back) we had and he was sucked under the tire which crushed his pelvis, tore his bladder and hospidelized him for 3 weeks then another month befor he could walk without cruches.

When it's past midnight and I go into my kitchen, I always get freaking that there might be someone at the door. The door has a couple of windows next to it, and there is a window that opens out onto a footpath behind my house on the other side of the room. Whenever I turn around, I keep expecting there to be someone staring in. No idea why, though.

Im pretty awesome compared to a normal phobia patient...i have Claustrophobia and that pretty bad, also im afraight of heights.
BUT, and that is whats weird about my Phobias, they dont "scare" me, they turn a little lever in my head and i turn overly agressive and self defensive against anyone whos happen to be around.
Like, when someones about to put me into a Box or something tight and enclosed, i freak out and bite, claw and headnut my way out of Danger if nessesary.
And if someone jokes around by pushing me over an edge but holding me, i grab something nearby and pull him towards this edge aswell...
Its weird but i cant do anything against it.

An actual "fear" i have is sitting alone in some Room and knowing theres an army of Zombies/Monsters/Killerthings outside that will dismember me the second they come in.
With friends, heavily rmed, OR when the place is extremely fortified, it would be OK, but totally alone? Would be Horror.
The first few seconds of the Resi4 Cabin defence on Low ammo is a good example, or any Game where i hide in some room from the evil that follows me.

Like in Alone in the Dark, having enough Bullets for my Pistol but knowing those dont to anything but holding the enemys off anyway until i put flamable liquids upon them.
And then finding that you DONT have flamable Liquids while you are sittin in the toilet and the only barrier, the flaming Doorparts, are about to burn off<.< THAT is survival Horror^^

I am afraid of turning corners at night. I always think that there is someone on the other side with a knife or a rag to suffocate me with.

Thinking about suffocation scares me.

I'm also afraid of being in the bathroom when the toilet flushes. I read a book when I was six about a ghost that bothered this kid, and it would appear out of nowhere. I would always think that a ghost would come out of the toilet unless I got out of the room.

Piercings, especially facial piercings, scare me too.

I have a full-blown phobia of drowning or choking, I don't go near water that's more than 4 feet deep, and I can't eat steak unless it's melt-in-your-mouth tender. Really stringy cheese freaks me out, too, the way some of it goes down your throat while the rest of it is still in your mouth.

I have this weird thing with heights. I'm usually fine on top of something really tall looking down, but I start to feel really anxious and afraid when looking up at tall buildings or high ceilings unless I'm sitting down.

A rather embarrassing one that I'm fine with admitting to, is that my bladder physically shuts down in public restrooms when there are other people in there.

late at night when I am tired I develope a terable fear of doors I cant open them after 2am so I need to make sure that all the doors to my room are open otherwise I end up sleeping on the couch.
