I don't know what it's name was, but it was these guys that looked like cartoon characters, and some evil company made everyone mindless and this guy stalked a blonde chick through the whole movie, and I didn't at any point in the movie know what the fuck was going on...

Zardoz, hands down. Featuring a flying Moai head that barfs guns and ammo, proselityzes the gun as good and the phallus as bad, and Sean Connery in a loincloth.

Eraserhead. Surrealist film about well... uhm, I still don't know. Alien babies I think. Just watch it. As above, a David Lynch mind - screw.

There are a lot of weird movies I've seen such as Ichi the Killer and, Visitor Q. Ya know what? I'll go with Visitor Q. It's the strangest movie I've ever seen. It's about a Japanese family who isn't dysfunctional so much as they are COMPLETELY FUBAR!!!

The movie opens to the teenage daughter of the title family having sex with a much older man...after they talk about how he's too fast in bed he asks when she'll be home for dinner and that's when the incest alarm goes off in my brain but it's too late since the rest of that dialogue confirms that yes, they are father and daughter and yes, they did and he's fast and *cough*

The only other part I remember vividly is the 10 year old who beats the hell out of the mother. Bare-handed, with a wire-hangar, with a bike lock...I think...it's brutal.

---

If you want a more family friendly movie filled with strange try ANY movie featuring the Yokai Monsters. Such as Yokai Monsters or, Takashi Miike's The Great Yokai War. Takashi Miike is the same bastard who made Visitor Q and, Ichi the Killer listed above. GYW however is a really well done family movie definitely worth a watch.

One called Brazil or something, watched along time ago. Was about a guy living in an Orwellian world that was all about the bureaucracy. Eventually he gets messed up in with a girl whos part of a resistance. He gets captured at one point and by the end of it you realizes the last 30min or so of the movie has been going on in the guys head while his mind simply collapsed under the stress. Like you think Robert de Niro came down to rescue the guy, only to get eaten by a piece of flying news paper, followed by a long chase scene and a seemingly happy ending only to see the guy being left in his chair by the prison staff.
Yeah, Brazil stands out to me too. That is such an amazing movie.

I second Inland Empire. It goes completely off the rails about forty minutes in, when the movie starts cutting between atleast (not sure) four unrelated non-linear stories all played by the same lead actor, which makes you constantly wonder where you are, at what time and which story you're watching every time there's a cut... but the movie was incomprehensible even before that point. It begins with regular David Lynch surreality, then becomes David Lynch on sterioids and bad acid.

Poultrygeist: Night Of The Chicken Dead.
Basically it's an action, horror, comedy, musical with people turning into zombified chickens. Lots of blood, lots of gore and lots of nudity. And some quite good songs.

I'm a Cyborg, But That's OK

It had a scene where she gets fingers that double as machine guns and she goes on a rampage killing everyone. It was insanity. :D

Mulholland Drive. Serious the plot to that film is so confusing that in the dvd there is a card providing hints during certain scenes. I think it suppose to provide an answer to what the hell being going on but it doesn't work.

Like the topic said, what is the strangest movie you've ever seen? By strangest, I mean full on "am I high?" status, not just movies that have moments that make you go "huh?", then continue watching.

For me, it's the movie I just finished watching, "Heavy Metal". It's a fun movie to watch, but weird? Weird doesn't describe it. Let's see...topless chicks, anthropomorphic gorillas, cyborgs, robots who have sex, and aliens, all in the same 90 minute animated movie.

P.S. See Heavy Metal if you haven't already, if for nothing else the awesome soundtrack.
I was going to say Good Burger but then you reminded me of Heavy Metal, so I'm going to have to go with that.

(Although Good Burger was only weird because I was half awake near the end of a long LAN party when I watched it)
