All they care about is getting caught, if he Laments it so much, Capcom should not have put the damn fighters on the disk.

Calling this DLC should be illegal, as it clearly isn't DLC. After all, the DL part of the DLC stands for DownLoad, which, based on the pirates actions, it clearly isn't.

It should just be called premium content, or something like that.

Also, isn't the point of DLC so that developers can create new content for games over time? This content has already been created prior to release.

So many things wrong with this that my nerd rage is turning me into the incredible hulk...

Captcha: Surf and turf...Interesting....

Really? I love the PS3 d-pad for fighting games.
OP: It is pretty hard for me to drum up sympathy for you. You withheld them solely to make even more than the already overpriced retail that is 60$.
It's better than the 360 D-pad certainly, but it gets physically painful to roll a QCF after an hour or so. I had a literal bleeding thumb after Blazblue was released. Then I bought an arcade stick.
That's why god invented a handy little device called a "break". It is alright to set a game down from time to time...particularly if it's proving to be physically painful to continue playing. :p

I read somewhere that all characters are locked on disk, including the PS3 exclusives, so people were hacking Xbox versions were able to play as Cole etc, and bring them online, hilarity would have indeed ensued.

Really? Then why did you create them as DLC in the first place?

Is this guy serious? The entire game industry has turned into a nickle and dime scam, of the most transparent kind. What I'm most sad about is, I know it will get alot worse before it gets better.

Yes, let's not find any fault with those who actually did this side-stepping.
Personally, I don't find any fault with that side-stepping at all. They bought a game, and then they modified their game (which they owned). If they were actually taking any parts of the game that they weren't already given I could understand the complaint (as with piracy), but they were just modifying what they already had, something which I believe we should always have the right to do.

If the developer didn't want people to have these characters, they really shouldn't have handed them over.

I want to say the actions of the hackers were unjustified and wrong, because after all, in the end it is still stealing. However considering the circumstances on which this "DLC" was locked and included on the disc, and the devs tried to rationalize it, I honestly think this serves them right and should be seen as an example of what not to do.

Don't fuck your customers because they will fuck you back given the chance.

I too am disappointed that a group of people created an environment in which some players have access to certain characters while other, less fortunate, players do not. Do you see how neutral that sentence is? It's very neutral. Like Witcher neutral. That's me. Neutral.
You are a master wordsmith. I couldn't have said it better myself. I love how he is disappointed that some people can play as these characters while others cannot. I wonder if he even comprehends what he is saying, as he is saying it.

I feel bad for Capcom fans, I really do. If it takes hacking their product to get even with them then Capcom truly is the EA of Japan.

I fucking hate modern games. Locked on disk DLC. The feeling I'm getting right now is "I've been robbed" The very same.

No offense, Ayano, but that was BOUND to happen.

At least ME3 was partially justified in From Ashes, since only part of the DLC was on the disk and the remaining DLC we downloaded was to fully flesh it out so you could make it a playable section. These are completely coded, fully playable characters locked on the disc, a disc from a game that people have legitimately bought; of course some of the more tech-savvy would object to having to shell out more money to buy these characters that are technically still theirs already.

Way better than the 360 one...

Plus, not everyone can use/own a joystick.

The consumer doesn't own the content on the disc.
Just throwing that out there.
I mean, I disagree with this strategy, and I have disagreed with it since its very inception, but they aren't doing anything wrong.
This was, and this has always been, a strategy to increase the game's longevity without having to resort to the usual method of "Super Ultra AE:2012 Turbo HD Remix" - and I can totally appreciate that, and I would've thought that it was a pretty cool idea if people hadn't found the characters and costumes already on the disc.
Just as a side note - the characters totally aren't finished.
Blanka in particular is broken as fuck.
