I'm rather fond of hidden object games, of the dreaded CASUAL GAMES category. :

UN DUN DUN!!!:: I like ones that are hybrid point and click adventure games with some kind of story, especially the creepy ones. It's rather fascinating the different properties that have hidden object games. Charlene Harris (the author of the books that were made into the Tru Blood series) wrote a vampire one that was actually pretty good, and Serena Williams has a tennis one (yes, I tried it out. It was awful).
There's a certain suspension of disbelief needed to play them without raising an eyebrow. (Like, why does almost every single one of these games feature places that are the messiest, most cluttered places on the face of the planet?) But I think it helps sharpen my observation skills to play them, and it's always kind of cathartic.
