We all have stuff we really want to do. This isn't about stuff you just want to do once, this is about hobbies/passtimes/games etc that you really want to get involved in on a more permanent basis and devote time to, but just haven't done yet for various reasons.

Basically, just name something you want to get into/involved in but haven't yet, and a reason why you haven't managed it as of yet. Yes it's pointless but hey, pointless stuff can be entertaining sometimes.

I'll start off with one: Dungeons & Dragons.

I really am interested in this game and really want to get into playing, but as of yet I haven't. And there are several reasons. The first, and biggest one, is that I don't have any friends that play it. And any suggestion of playing it made to my friends would more often than not end up with one of their fists connecting very harshly with some part of my body. Second reason, also q big one: I have no idea how that shit works. I like the idea of it, but whenever I hear someone talking about all the in-depth rules I just go "bwuh?" at them.

Plus buying all the books and shit you need is expensive and I have no fucking money.

EDIT: Plus I swear there are, like, no D&D players in the entirety of England. So I can't find anyone to game with at all, even if I did understand it or could afford it.

Magic: The Gathering.

I don't because I've already blown an obscene amount of money on Yu-gi-oh cards instead.

Learn to read music.
I got an instrument a few years back but never bothered to take classes. (Could be that bass teachers arent that abundant)

Damn, Ninja'd in the OP.

Also, in a similar vein, I was interested in Warhammer 40K, but fuck, that shit is expensive.

This. I would love me some D&D. I imagine there'll be a group for it when I go to university, but that's a bit of a wait.

I also want to learn to play the acoustic guitar. My mate (who's in a mildly successful band) says £50 would be reasonable for a starter guitar, so I may drop some cash into that.

Make computer games. Trying to do it now, but it involves learning programming, various bits of software, and drawing, so a lot of skillsets.

And I feel for you ReservoirAngel, hard to find a club in England. I drive for over an hour to get to a club, in Gloucester, but that's the nearest.

Try here: http://www.ukroleplayers.com/clubs/ . If you can find one nearby, just turn up. Even if you don't have the books, someone there might help you make a character, or you can sit and observe a game. It'll give you a better idea whether or not you want to continue. My friends pretend not to be interested, but after a few drinks and there's no chance of any girls turning up, they're actually quite eager.

I really want to learn how to play the cello, but since cellos are incredibly expensive, I don't want to learn it from tutor, and I'm already busy with playing tuba, it ain't going to happen.

There actually was a D&D group at my University but I never got into it until after I was forced to drop out. If only I had discovered D&D-related stuff sooner. Oh well.

I want to start my own Let's Play/ Game Review thing in the style of Kwing, Game-Overthinker or, (of course) Yahtzee. I would love to do stuff in the style of the AVGN but after watching the making-of video it seems unfeasible, to begin with at least. Also, I would likely be doing old games. I would love to do SNES games but the AVGN does a lot of games between the NES, SNES, Genesis, etc. I don't want to be another voice making the same sounds (fucked up that metaphor) but I would definitely want to go back and talk about Shaq-Fu, Kid Kool, Batman Forever, Home Alone, etc.

At the moment, I have 2 laptops: one that I'm currently using and one in Maryland that I'll likely sell once I have it back due to various issues it has. I have no editing equipment but I do know how to and, have in the past, recorded myself playing games in the past. So with the right editing software and, a good quality microphone I could at least post let's plays and/or reviews of games in the style of Kwing (ie: show the gameplay and nothing but the gameplay with a voice-over throughout)

That would be a start and you need to start somewhere after all...I could also incorporate my drawings too in the same way AVGN does: as title-cards. The only other thing is my persona. I've been Shoggoth here and on youtube for freaking ages. I could always continue on as Shoggoth or, change it to Game-Shoggoth or something...which would probably be cool...Shoggoth are ageless, formless creatures who would have nothing but time to play games and comment on them! Well, there's a start...All I need now is the stuff I rambled about above!

Well, that right there is simultaneously the best and worst excuse for a time travel based movie ever...

I am not using my time machine to play D&D. That is not why I invented it! I invented it to mess with long-established history, nothing more!

And acquiring hats.

Yes, admittedly Doctor Who has inspired me to add a fez, top hat and stetson to my burgeoning hat collection.

Get Duels of The PLaneswalkers 2012 imo. Cheaper, just as fun.

OT: Warhammer 40k tabletop game. Why haven't I? Don't really care for the crafty side or the game, and HOLY S@%!T the prices.

I've been looking for a club for *years*, but I assumed people had just stopped playing it. Just got into my final year of university and discovered we have a role playing society (I'm at the University of Hull if that helps anyone, club's called WARPS) that I discover *now* when I don't have much time to invest in it! Go figure. I also found a club when I was staying in Nottingham, but they were over crowded as it was with about 12 players in their group. (That was a while back, shop was called Vague Connections that runs it, just out of the city centre, you can Google them.)

I don't think it's true that there aren't many clubs/groups in the UK, it's just that they don't advertise it a lot so you have to be 'in' to find them, 'friend of a friend knows someone who runs a game' sort of thing... it is frustrating, but so much fun once you find a group you gel with!

OT: Modern/Street dancing. Wanted to get back into dancing basically since I quit as a kid, but haven't been able to find anywhere that takes people who aren't already skilled, and now the uni's dance society meets at the same time as the role playing society!! I'd rather play D&D/VTM with people who are as dorky as me than feel awkward in a society of the 'popular' crowd.

A relationship. I haven't because I have commitment issues.

On a more serious note, I've always wanted to learn a martial art but I'm afraid to look stupid joining as a twenty year old.

I don't really "gel" with many people so finding a group of people who I don't know and joining in something like that with them is both difficult on account of my incredibly small social circle who are so far removed from Dungeons & Dragons that odds are not 1 person they know even knows what the game is, and scary on account of my horrible social skills in unfamiliar situations.

Plus I'm already enough of a nerd, I don't need the added stigma of "D&D player" attached to myself as well.
