Manga. My sister used to buy tons of them, and while I myself read them pretty often, I'm glad I don't waste my money on them. She thinks I'm pretty dumb to spend money on snuff(as in tobacco!!!1) and all the games I constantly buy though, so I guess it goes both ways.

I did get a Wii for xmas, which is hilarious because I told my parents about a million times over I didn't want one... but I'm assuming by the time they were asking me what I wanted ("Don't you want a Wii?")they had already bought it....

But honestly, I've still got plenty of PS2 games that I need to finish (and in one case start) and replay and max out and whatnot that I'm probably good for a while. Not to mention that my bf has recently introduced me to Steam, and as such I have started to become a pc gamer I know right? Right as the industry is "dying" or dead in some cases >.> Although I could do with an upgraded computer (currently using a "student" laptop) I am going to school to be a computer programmer, so all in good time and then I can also use my "console" for other activities, such as work >.> when necessary...XD


Now I do buy games for my Wii (what the hell else am I going to do with it?) but honestly, I find myself searching the old PS2 racks of Gamestop more than the Wii things $10 vs $50? You decide!

Now... I do play my bf's ps3.... for shooter co-op campaigns, and Guitar Hero/Rock band, and my brother's xbox for co-op Left 4 Dead.... but I have never bought these consoles/games and I don't think I will I will leave that for others.

I'm so glad that I don't spend any money on WoW, however I do have my own vice and thats buying CDs and Vinyl records. Though I don't go crazy every time I walk into a Newbury Comics I usually limit it to one or two things per trip. So I try to keep it under $20 and I usually only go once every month or so. But I spend a lot less considering I usually go with a buddy of mine that I regularly trade music with so thats a huge plus. I know buying music seems to be out of style, but I like to own a physical copy because I like actually holding it in my hand.

RTS games, because I suck so bad at them I can't get any enjoyment from them. Also the elitist community that usually plays them makes me even happier I don't bother.

Card games like many have said. There's a kid in my school that spent 200$ on Yu-Gi-Oh cards. I just couldn't wrap my head around that at all. Only like...5 people in the whole school give a shit about that game.

Smokes, drugs, alcohol. Lots of other bad things for you.

MMORPG's, Cigarettes, definitely the collectable card games (fucking Magic, I remember spending all of my birthday money on booster packs, nothing good either)
Oh, and the best one of all, a girlfriend.
Yea, it's depressing, but I bought everything for my last girlfriend, and she ended up cheating on me... Definitely don't want to go through that all over again, especially because now I can focus on school.

My apologies, I've never actually heard them called that unless speaking rather technically. Then again, I suppose most of the people I talk to about gaming started at ps1.... which would indeed make this the 3rd gen, but alas, you are right and I am mistaken.


Just FYI: no sarcasm intended, I realized after rereading this that I sound like a total snob, but I'm honestly sincere.

I'm pretty sure their present joy of 'ZOMG, HEROINE!' (or the crackhead equivalent or joy, whatever that may be) would drown out something like say, financial problems and simple logic...

Pretty much any drug and alcohol- a lot of people in the world probably think it's worth it but I say no thank you.

And mmorpg fees, I only go for the F2P ones, and if they got special shops where you spend real money, I just ignore them and play on.

Warhammer. I don't bother with the table top because of cost.

Cigarettes. I don't smoke for obvious health reasons, but the lack of expense is nice.

Alcohol. Same as above, but also the prohibitive cost is a little of a deterrence, mostly the decrease in brain function though.

Clothes. (I have clothing that I had when I was 13 a shirt I was given for my 10[sup]th[/sup] birthday that still fits me. I'm 21 next month.)

Shoes. I wear my shoes until they are literally falling apart.

Haircuts. I get a haircut regularly enough that my hair doesn't look bad, but I have it cut short enough that I don't need one every 3 weeks.
