I was a lovely guy, just not her lovely guy.
I'm guessing that means we weren't right for each other, which is kind of odd when she fancied me for a year before going out with me.

One of my ex-girlfriends lived in a town that was a fair distance from me but not too far, maybe an hour on the train. Anyway we weren't going out for long, few days I'd say, and then she suggested that we broke it up because 'she didn't like not seeing me, and it hurt'. It wouldn't have been an issue if you weren't constantly making stupid plans so much that you said it'd be 4 weeks before I'd be able to fucking visit you.

My ex said she "couldn't see herself loving me". This is after 3, almost 4 months of dating, then she basically cut me off from her life, cuz she's a *****.

Eh, I called her fat once, she knew I had a bad temper without my pill yet she kept insulting me.
She still thinks it was my fault that fucking *****.

Look at it like this:

She might have just finally figured out that she isn't into guys. Not much you can do about that, it's hardly a reflection on you as a person. If she likes girls, she likes girls. IMO that's probably one of the least depressing ways someone who you still like could break up with you (not that it's happened to me, I'm just guessing).
That really doesn't help my situation nor does it help my pride.

Doesn't help either when I asked her out on a date and she refused only to go with another girl. I don't even think she is a lesbian. I think she was just beaten up by guys so much that she got tired of it.

I am sorry, but you cannot turn gay. You cannot turn into a Homosexual just because of a bad break up. You might think you do, but those who usually they can turn always turn back thinking that they really don't like the same sex. You have to be born gay.

This is why I hate Lesbians....not because I hate homosexuals, but because of bad memories.

Why do girls always go for that bad boy shit? You know, the guys that treat them like crap? It is only AFTER they get beat up do they realize they need to find a guy that loves them for who they are.

Tired of always being the nice one and always coming out last. I can't say anything either or I become the villain.

Perhaps she didn't really have a friendship with you and was so focused on the relationship, and she didn't really think she had a reason to talk to you anymore after it fell apart. I don't know.

Sorry, just playing Devil's Advocate here.

I poured my soul into those months with her. I gave it everything I had, and now she just basically cuts me off? Freakin' LAME!

Get this. I was with my girl for heading up a year so i decided to go out and get something nice for her. I saw her nearly drooling at the sight of this necklace in the mall so i went out and got it. She caght sight of the receipt in my room (yea stupid me) and freaked out because she thought i had bought jewelry for someone else. I went ahead and gave her the necklace and explained how i saw her eyeballing it and got it for her for our anniversary. She then completely changed tangeants, still pissed, broke up with me 2 days before our anniversary and I was left a $300 necklace in my hands. Still makes no sense to me.

WTF am I going to do with that necklace wear it?

Keep it around and give it to someone who actually is good to you.

I didn't say she'd turned gay, I said finally realised (or possibly accepted)she was (possibly, I don't know her). Anyway, I'm not going to get into an argument about the nature of homosexuality.
Clearly there is a little more to this now that you are going on about guys that beat her up etc. I was just trying to give you an alternative and slightly more positive viewpoint based on the information I had at the time.

I hear ya on that one. The first girl I ever fancied was cool, talked to her for ages and all that, and after I said a couple of things to her, she said to me "that's the sweetest thing anyone has ever said to me, but I have a bf" etc etc, you see where that is going. So I thought, yeah fair play. Little did I know i knew that bloke through a bunch of my mates who knew him, and they all knew he was a massive toss! They've broken up now, and she opened up to me about it, and I started going out with a girl about a month prior to that. Lol..
And then this girl broke up with me, story behind that is that I moved to uni and it was in another state (in Australia), I came back more or less regularly, and then she decided that she saw me more like a sibling than a bf.. after 2 years... durr. *sigh*
And now I'm with another girl here at uni, she's sincere, guess we'll see where that one goes, prolly when I have to move back out of this state to work after my degree I'll get the same excuse.

One of my friend's girlfriends made out with someone else....while he was there....5 minutes prior they were making out. So I don't think it's a stupid reason rather than a stupid girl. But she still wants to go out with him!

She was going to go backpacking through Europe in four years and did not want me to have to wait for her.

Kind of struck me as an odd way to break up with someone. It left me more than a little confused.
Translation: She wanted to bang European guys guilt-free.
Actually, I am pretty sure the true translation was that she was banging American guys while we were dating and that was an easier way to say it. Oh yeah, and she was planning on banging some European dudes too.

crudus said:
You couldn't go with her? That is also a loooong time ahead of her trip which is confusing.
I really did not want to go backpacking through Europe, I like more planned trips, plus I have seen one too many horror movies to fall for that one. Plus, she did not want me to go, kind of weird I know. The thing that made it so weird was the fact that it was so far into the future of our relationship, which lead me to my comment above, which was later verified by friends of mine.
