Cheyenne, spelled Shyanne. And any other stupid or misleading spellings, like Kole, Cevin, and Kirstin (Pronounced KER-stin. Seriously would it kill you to use an E?).

Also, parents who make puns of their kids names should be punished by lynching. For example: The boy's last name was Hunter, so they named him Bounty. Or a girl who's last name was Leer so they named her Shanda. Also all those hippie names get on my nerves, like River, Star, Moon, Water, etc. It may have been original or different at some point, but now it is just retarded.

I went to school with these brothers, Valen and Zevelin (spelling?), who were supposedly named after Van Halen and Led Zeppelin. Parents had good taste in music at least.

I know someone named Tyisah. People pronounce his name Tie-ee-sha, but it's pronounced Tie-zay-uh.

Talula Does The Hula From Hawaii ( http://www.express.co.uk/posts/view/53968/Name-change-ruling-for-Tula-Does-The-Hula )... actual name... judge legally changed it for the sake of the kid... some parents... on that note though ... my mom is a bit of a hippie... my sister was born at dawn .... named her Dawn... I was born at dusk... she was going to call me "Dusk" ... my dad put an end to that... have my dad,grand-dad and great grand-dad's name... although some days I do wonder "what if" ... lol

Some people can be really idiotic when giving their children unique names. There's a couple in my local community who named their child (I shit you not):

Captain Friday Falkenburg

...Really? Captain Friday? Did... did you ever give your child's future any thought before settling on this? He is going to get teased sooooo much when he goes to school. Furthermore, what if he joins the military? Confusing much? And is "Captain Friday" together as his first name, or is it Captain as his first and Friday as his second?

And you know what the most incredulous part of this is? The kid was born on a SUNDAY!

So what about you? What are some of the stupidest names you've heard parents give to their kid?
This kid goes to my school. His first name is Ronald, last name McDonald. I'm not kidding!

Some names are just so ridiculous that you can't help but feel like it's all one giant joke and you're an idiot for believing it. Moon Unit? Blanket? RAPE (my god, seriously?)??!

There's a girl that works at the Tim Horton's I go to on Fridays, her name is Princess. There's a kid I registered on the weekend, her name is Angel. It's just... silly. I know that the parents must think it's a great name at the time, and it sounds so adorable, but picture the 14-year old having to deal with a name like that.

Hah, Butters...

Do you live in Toontown or are they just insane?!
Surely, you jest. That young man is going to grow up to be the manliest man this side of Sparta with a name like that.

OT: I really hate the name Skye. Just, no. A thousand times no. I mean what, something respectable like Mary or Jennifer wouldn't work for her? You had to name her Skye, and doom her to a life of having a terrible name? That's just wrong, man.
Oh, did I ever lol. Captain Friday is pretty manly, but I don't know how well it will work for first grade.

Ah, he'll be fine. Far too busy breaking cement blocks and bending cars in half with his bare hands to worry about what his classmates think of him.

My mother used to work with crack babies, and one of them was apparently named "Shakeoveronce." Your guess is as good as mine as to how the parents thought that was pronounced.

Also, I once knew a couple of sisters named "Nyquila" and "Advila."

how bout Talula Does the Hoola from Hawaii? I believe that was some unfortionate child's name in New Zealand.
That's the one that popped into my mind.

I would never interfere in what people choose to nickname their children and each other. But I do think a person's legal name should be something A) Your teacher can pronounce from a roll sheet and B) Wont expose a person to funny looks and unfunny jokes.

I hope I'm not the only one who noticed this. Any kid who has that name has the greatest parents ever.

OT: I met a person with 7 middle names once. 7!! Her first name was Apple...

My son's name is written Treasure Music but it is written in English as Leo. No way I was going to do a direct translation.

There was two parents who had twins in my country who wanted to call one of the babies "Fish" and the other "Chips"

But likely for them the government step in and stop them.

Some people make me sick.
