Dude, everything on TLC is an insult to our species. My dad always makes fun of one show that's called something like "the wedding dress that says yes: Bridesmaids"
I mean, come on!

I literally hate reality TV shows. I don't know how they became popular, it's not like any of them can act or do any thing interesting.

Most other shows either have poor humour or have the entire cast stone cold serious, so I don't feel like I'm missing out on any thing special at all. I hardly watch TV any more, but there are still some shows I watch, mostly whats recommended to me.

This shit rakes in millions and Community gets canned every few weeks. There is no justice on this damnable Earth.
You know who watches it the most? It sure as hell aren't people who enjoy child beauty pageants. It's people who enjoy a sense of smug superiority over such fans; people who want to laugh at those "idiotic ape people". Charlie Brooker hit the nail right on the head - reality tv programs deliberately create hate characters, designed to appeal to the worst possible natures of the viewers. That's the real terrible thing about these programs. Sadly, Honey Boo Boo says far more about its audience than some fat, irresponsible mother.

Oh, and regarding OP: The Big Bang theory. Most shows are obnoxious, but this one is kind of offensive to the intellect as well, in that it pretends to be for nerds (or rather, stereotypes of nerds, as thought up by the 1970s) whilst laughing right at them. It also feels like I'm being expected to laugh at a guy who has what appears to be Aspergers, and that strikes me as mean spirited.

My reaction to honey boo boo was the same as the Nostalgia critic's reaction to the other animated titanic movie....I just looked at myself in the mirror and cried for two days straight

then i took a scalding shower to clean myself, i still feel dirty.

OT: all reality tv shows, ever.

The Big Bang Theory, I hate it. That show is terribly written, they introduced characters that are so bad they make me visibly cringe whenever they come on screen, the girlfriends of Howard and Sheldon are failures on such a fundamental level because they undermine Howard and Sheldon's primary characteristics, that Howard is a failure with women and Sheldon is a asexual socially retarded genius. Leonard whines too much and Raj's personality is "the quiet one" but in a TV show being the quiet one means he may as well be invisible.

The fans are even worse, these morons that watch it and then think they know the first thing about physics, it pisses me off. They all loudly spout the words Schrodinger's cat but can only grasp the simplest idea that the cat is alive and dead hurr durr durr. They have no real understanding of it. The fact that these morons think they know the slightest thing about Physics is horribly insulting.

I would describe it a watchable (even enjoyable) season 1-3 but 4,5,6 are atrocious due to the introduction of Amy and Bernadette and the fact that the writers all took serious blows to the head between 3 and 4.

OH and the morons that watch it fall under the same bracket as the insufferable thundercunts that use the word "geek" to mean good in association with hipster glasses.

WTF, is this shit? Please tell me this is a joke.

This is one of the main reasons I don't watch TV, I feel getting dumber while seeing these things.

The clip's thumbnail has the caption "and she's three centimeters dialated".

How much are you going to pay me to watch that clip?

OT: TLC. All of it. Just... Gah.

Generally shows that request the audience to phone in and vote on the outcome such as X-factor, Strictly Come Dancing and Big Brother. Especially Strictly as whenever I mention something wrong with it, out comes an attractive woman wearing two strategically placed handkerchiefs and I forget what I'm complaining about for some reason :p

Does sesame street count? That had a vampire. /* I have no idea if sesame street is even still running */

OT: Well, The Only Geordie Is Made In Chelsea rubbish makes me want to punch them in their smug faces, does that count?

Also, stuff that makes me feel physically uncomfortable to watch. The Inbetweeners, The Office, that stuff just makes me cringe until I actually have to leave the room. I don't know if I just have a low tolerance for this stuff or what.

Apart from that, there's just stuff I don't watch because it's not really my thing, but don't particularly have a problem with it.

Sit back, this is gonna be a long one. *AHEM*

I hate current Tween sitcoms with a passion, especially when it takes TV slots away from cartoons (and on channels meant for cartoons!)

Speaking of which I'm not fond of so-called "mature" cartons that's just fart jokes and black humor (Like most of Adult Swim's lineup - though admittedly there are exceptions. And why did they have to bring back Toonami, only to put it on really late at night!? ...It's just for the nostalgia dollar, isn't it?)

Finally, while I do admit to enjoying some reality TV like Jackass for example, I can't stand shows like Jersey Shore or... shudder... Here Comes Honey Boo Boo. Shows like that make me want to stab something...

...Thanks for letting me vent, though I hope I haven't gone overboard...

1) Two Broke Girls
"Annoying".
That is the only word I can use to describe the show. Maybe occasionally racist too, but overwhelmingly annoying above all else.

2) Family Guy
Saw the pilot. Hated it. I've seen parts of the show ever since.
I've never liked Seth McFarlane's approach to humor much, but I wasn't able to quite put my finger on it.

It isn't the "offensive" or "politically incorrect" nature of the jokes; I've greatly enjoyed comedy that is plenty offensive and politically incorrect.

Then someone on these forums (I wish I could remember who) put it best: "Family Guy has one joke, and that joke is that 'Intolerance is funny'."

Hellsing Ultimate

What do I win? Do I get a goat? Being Human also has some Vampires, but stay away from the US version.

OT: Most of Adult Swim's comedy shows, Tom, Aqua Teen, Robot Chicken, Tim and Eric, etc.

Exactly. I do not hate any TV show, no matter how bad I think it is.

I may hate it when people talk about the crappy shows and act shocked when I say that I do not watch it, but that's another matter entirely.

Kind of tangential, but something I've noticed in a few documentary-style shows recently is the tendency to subtitle people speaking perfectly recognisable English in foreign accents that are if anything clearer than some English regional dialects.

Also I was watching an interesting documentary on feral children the other day; and the tendency of the researcher/presenter to speak SLOWLY AND CLEARLY in the simplest possible terms (to the point of being patronising) to both the viewer and the rural African witnesses; was grating.

There were so many awkward silences from her essentially repeating what she had just been told.

Took the words right out of my mouth. If there's one thing that annoys me even more than the existence of shows like Honey Boo Boo, it's the knowledge that half the audience for these shows aren't people who actually relate to the cast in any way, but rather self-titled 'intellectuals' who watch it just to laugh at how shit it is, and then wonder why genuinely good shows that they could have watched instead are getting canned for not pulling in a big enough audience.

All reality shows, except for Dr. Stevo. And if you count stuff like Jackass as reality shows then I don't hate those either. But all the other ones!

I honestly have stopped watching TV. Most people under 30 have. TV is on its way out the door in a conventional manner. I watch most of my shows online. I don't feel that I should have to pay for "specialty channels" where the only good TV shows are on.
