Yep. Just what the title says. Tell us all about the stupid crap you have to put up with from your parents.

Oh c'mon. Even if you're 32 with a wife and kids, living seperately from your parents, you all hate something your parents do on a regular basis.

For me, it would be how my mother continues to watch Fox News and CNN night after night. It drives me bonkers. She lets these news stations color her every thought. And when it concerns me and my video games, Heavy Metal, and whatever other habits I have, she has to tell me what she saw on "the news" and explain to me I am ruining my life because of it. She also has these completely retarded opinions on things, which I can quickly trump with my superior logic and all she does is get pissy with me.

Then there's my father. He's infinitely more reasonable than my mother, but he simply cannot and will not ever be able to trust me on the topics of music and games, despite the fact we like the same things. Everytime I finally get him to play a game I love, or get him to listen to a band I love, he ends up loving those things too. So, naturally, you think he'd be open to my suggestions on games and music, but I have to HOUND him for ages to get him to listen to me! Agh, it's quite frustrating. He's a good guy, though.

Bah.

Your turn. I bet you can beat me.

My parents are really stupid in their views on homosexuality. My mother is the type to believe that a person can only turn gay if they've been abused as a child, and they both seem of the opinion that all gays are dirty, unpleasant people.

It's going to be so much fun when I come out...

well, they agree with Jack Thompson.

Though I love them both very much, sometimes they make me want to facepalm.

Only thing I can think if my mum likes to argue at times. Other then that I get along pretty well with my parents.

Well whenever I had a problem with my computer, my dad would help me fix it. However every time he saw a program he didn't recognize he would keep saying it's causing the problem. It took me forever to convince him that Steam is not a virus.

Other than that? Nothing really. While I've always had disagreements with my parents, they're overall very nice and loving people.

I get along okay with my parents.

Sometimes, my mom can get to be a little much with hounding me about getting more sleep, but than waking me up at 7 on a weekend to go and get the H1N1 vaccine. Oh, and there's the fact that she's freaked out by H1N1.

My dad and me are usually cool, but he has this thing about me getting the mail. It's not incredibly far from my house, but it is a block away, and even though he knows I'll do it every day, I apparently need to do it when he wants. It just gets annoying at times.

To the OP: YOUR AVATAR IS FROM DARKER THAN BLACK!!!!!

Ahem... okay, sorry for that. It's just exciting to meet one of the few who knows that amazing show.

Anyway, not about my parents, but my family is really close to another family: we're pretty much all brothers and sisters and such. Whenever I would stay over there, though, my best friend and I would be playing his PS1, but we were only allowed 15 minutes of play time per day. 15 minutes. I get limiting play time, but that's just ridiculous. And to top it off, once the time was done, the mom would always come in and say "It's a beautiful day outside!" Okay, no. It was like 100 degrees, the sun was relentless, bees were everywhere and, personally, I think clouds are prettier than endless blue anyway. Just... epic fail. That phrase was the second-most hated phrase of my childhood. :p

have sex with said boyfriend
get knocked up from said sex.
leech off him for 9 months.
have baby cause shes against abortions(dont worry, shes not catholic cause even though she holds all the same values. No, shes what you would call *rebelling against her parents* at the age of forty.)
ogle baby.
hit/choke me everytime Im near the baby and it cries because its my fault(obviously)
get married to boyfriend.
not understand why boyfriend is so mean, I mean, he wasnt like that before.(in her own words)
get divorced and take the child.
not understand why hes not paying child support.
find new boyfriend.
rinse and repeat.
she has 3 children including me, all from different fathers.
she doesnt understand why i call her a whore.
i moved out last month at the age of 17. best decision of my life.

They don't really do anything stupid, for the most part I am allowed to do whatever I feel like. Yet they always like to bug me on school and ask the same question over and over and over and this happens a lot more when I play games. Does get annoying and I lose my temper with them which leads to bad arguments.

"I accept your challenge!" says I with a the trademark Haruhi finger point.

OT: My parents from the age of a year and a half to 2 years have flat out ignore me in my presence. In the 15 years that they have stopped involving me in their lives, I can count the words they have spoken directly to me on one hand, not including my thumb. They still let me stay in their house as is almost obligated by law, however they never talk, or even look at me. As far as they're concerned, I'm just a ghost which happens to have packages delivered to it on a regular basis. Because they haven't been in my life, I have had to raise myself, and I'm a damn fine person because of it.

And here's is something that I think is rather fucked up. They never called me by my name. I found out that I was named Susan from my aunt at the age of three.

Well, with my Dad, the only thing that's stupid or annoying about him is his choice in music. It's either old school Newfoundland music (like traditional Irish music: Fiddles, Bodhrán, whistle, etc), which is okay in small doses, and fifties to eighties country music. I love Johnny Cash, but a lot of the other stuff is like nails on a chalkboard to me. Plus, he's as opinionated about his music as I am, so we have sparring matches with the radio whenever I'm in his van, or when we're up to the cabin.

My Mom and I have an interesting relationship. I love her, we laugh, but I could write a tome about what bugs me or drives me nuts about my Mom. The way she gets when she's had a few drinks (she turns into a nineteen year old who just got in to her first nightclub). She's as stubborn as a mule, and I get that from her. Thanks Mom.

I love them both though.

My parents constantly spy on the neighboors, cant even eat dinner without them looking out the window asking eachother what they are up to, when 99% of the time, they are taking out the trash, getting the mail or any other trivial task...It really gets on your nerves when they constantly do it.

Nothing really bad, but my mom has this constant running joke about an elephant in our house/backyard. She does not let it up.

Father: drunk, calls me an embarrasment. said once that he regrets signing the adoption papers. calls my mom and all her family a *****, then crys when me or her go back at him. then the next day acts all fine and dandy.

Mother: me and her get along, but she is paranoid about everything. heres 4 things she's said today
"oh honey you popped a blood vessel in your eye it might be infected i gotta call a doctor"
"your gunna get carpel tunnel and wont be able to use your fingers when your old"
"you have to wash your hands everytime you think of it or you'll catch swine flu"
"one day you'll thank me for saving your life"
also, she sings, and is obnoxious.

So long as the cookies are white chocolate macadamia and you include milk.

I'm actually quite alright with my situation. The rest of my family more than makes up for all the love that my parents refuse to give.
