Being in French class and having to say "can I go to the bathroom" flawlessly. I understand it's to practice the language, but in Kindergarten?! I could barely speak English, let alone French!

At my old middle school, everything was sexual harrassment, punishable by referral or suspension:
Shaking hands-Inappropriate touching
Touching shoulder while talking- Also inappropriate touching
Complimenting someone's looks- Inappropriate conversation.
Hugging- You were obviously overpowering them so you could rape them... in front of the principle...somehow.
etc.

I wore a shirt with a MAPLE leaf on it and was told to change into one of the nasty (read: lice, sweat, dirt) shirts in the hwealth room because i had a pot leaf on it.
I wore a shirt with a fist as part of a design, same story, the person with a skull, and money, and bloody text? Nothing wrong.

you can get teachers in trouble really easily actually.

what you can do, is if they slam a book or their hand down on a desk, you can report them for what i believe is called "endangering behavior," but im not sure.

a teacher taught me that

I hated the no gum rule. It led to more people hiding it and putting it under the desk or on the carpet. Teachers who ignored this rule and let students chew gum never had any problems.

I would actually love that rule. I F**king hate when ppl chew gums with their mouths open -.-

OT: We pretty much doesn't have any rules except maybe no drinking during class which isen't odd considering we all have laptops what we work with and if somebody spill it could be pretty expensive..

Getting rid of corporal punishment was the biggest mistake the public schools ever made. My wife is a kindergarten teacher and she has kids who won't listen to her no matter what she does. Anything you tell them goes in one ear and out the other. No 'time out', missing recess, talks with the principal, being sent home (to parents who all too often won't discipline their own children and let them walk all over them), etc: none of it works with some of these kids. They know that the teachers can't really do anything to them that is truly unpleasant or has any real consequences. Some of them have no respect for authority at all already and they are only five and six years old.

She has a friend who teaches high school and some of those kids have been raised in this permissive, no real consequences environment for so long that they are openly defiant and even cruel to their teachers. Our school district even has it's own police department and they've had to haul kids away to "Juvi" to keep them from beating up teachers and other kids.

We've got to reinstate corporal punishment again before we have too many more generations of kids who are so arrogant and lacking in self-control and concern for anyone but themselves that some of them even become a danger to themselves and others as young as five and six years old. A couple of years ago, one of my wife's students hit her on the head so hard with a hard plastic bucket that it gave her a goose egg. All my wife did was tell the child to put away the toys he was playing with and get ready to go home. She didn't even raise her voice to the kid and asked in a more than sufficiently polite manner. That's what she got for her trouble. What happened to the kid? He spent a week at home and that was it. Wow. Big deal. The kid hated school and didn't want to be there anyway. He got just what he wanted. Some punishment.

Not a problem with my school per se, but with every school in the country, due to the Maltese Islands Constitution specifying that Catholicism is the official religion, all schools are obliged to enforce uniforms and teach Religion as a factual text book subject (with exams and everything).
Also all public secondary schools (thats 5th grade to 10th grade for you Yanks) are sex segregated.
.
One second mate, thats complete and utter fucking bullshit, have you ever been to Malta or Gozo? Also your same sex statement is BULLSHIT

<quote=Wiki>San Anton School, Malta is a co-ed (girls and boys) school, catering for over a thousand students of all abilities, from Kindergarten to the end of compulsory education (Grade 12). The School is situated in the valley of L-Imselliet, close to the village of Mġarr, and a 5-minute drive from the larger towns of Mosta and Rabat
Now that was just from wiki, let alone some proper fuckin research
These islands are populated by people educated in gender-segregated Catholic Schools. Now wear the fuck did you get this information from? Your arse?

The Maltese Islands are that small and have so little impact on Italy which is the closest fucking country to it, and i doubt they would have any impact on other countries.

Now unless you live or have lived in Malta or the surrounding islands for a long period of time (your profile does not state ), please get the the fuck off or reference your material at least.

<color=FFFFFF> Yes, im loyal to my home country so fuck off if you dont like it

no gum
no tazos
no scooters
no weapons
no guns
no knives
skirt BELOW the knees
males pants ABOVE the genital area
socks MUST be white

this is the first bit of my schools rules.

no gum <---EVERYONE brings gum and every chews it anyway. this rule is ignored by all including teachers
no tazos <---Who even owns tazos anymore?
no scooters <---What kind of respectable teenager rides a scooter to high school? a public high school? the security is less then minimal.
no weapons <---Anyone who isnt planning on wiping out a couple of classrooms of people wouldnt bring a weapon. and what about those with severe bully issues- if they brought along a knife a good shanking might solve well, everything.
no guns <---look up...and doesnt this count as a weapon anyway?
no knives <---Oh come on...seriously...after mentioning no weapons and no guns specifically we have to mention knives?! sure you dont wanna include crowbars to?!
skirts? seriously? wheres the appeal? the girls dont even look 'decent' like the intent. they look like stoned nuns.
male pants above the genitalia? come on guys, thats just not funny, pants should be above the crotch anyway but if its hanging half way down the ass, you deserve to be kicked in the nuts.
and finally, socks....SOCKS?! shirts are blue or white depending on year, pants are dark grey, shoes are black, hats are blue and yet socks MUST be white.

Stupid.

He's right, when you're a communist no one has freedom! So it's all fair!
You obviously know nothing about Communism; I have little else to say about this.
So I know nothing about it because your opinion dictates its right?

Your opinion on the subject is entirely uninformed.
Because I agree with the majority you mean?

It's hardly been a successful basis for government in the past, has it? And now North Korea, one of the few communist countries around, is impoverished whilst old Kim is left suspiciously rich despite the supposed 'equality' everyone is supposed to receive.

South Korea meanwhile is shit-hot rich (comparatively to the North at least, although they're well off in their own right) and maintains at least some form of relationship with other countries.

North Korea has nothing to do with Communism. Instead, they have a "Juche" policy of self-reliance. Please, do your research before making such claims. While they previously claimed to be Communist, Communism is a stateless, classless, democratic and egalitarian society. North Korea has never resembled that. Ever. Neither has the USSR or any "Communist state" (the term itself is a misnomer).

My high school had a couple ridiculous ones.

- You had to wear a white shirt (No design) and black pants. If I recall they attempted to rule out jeans... that never worked. One time for an exam, I was late leaving the house and had on a black shirt without realizing. My V-principal actually was not going to allow me to take my Government exam because of it. Mom was not having any of that.

I suppose not rule breaking per sa but my suspension record is literally a record at my high school. I was suspended over thirty times in three years (before I finally left) for that most mind boggling things. Examples?

- Laughing at something a student teacher did, despite the entire class laughing.

- Teach mistakenly blamed me for knocking over an eraser and announced to the entire class that because of that she was keeping them all after school. She that ignored the relentless threats until I stood up, said "fuck this", left the class and went home. Free week vacation for that.

- Inability to draw and skipping DTs because of it. My art teacher decided we had to draw one of the Marvel characters just by looking at a poster. Now I am a terrible artist and it showed however she believed everyone could draw, it was just a matter of teaching (something she failed miserably at), so eventually I took it home and had somethin else do a poor but easily passable job and now it was too good. So I just thought "screw it, I'm not winning this" and skipped her DTs until I was suspended.

- Arguing with the VP for ten minutes. How did it begin? She brought up something and I disagreed with her, she proceeded to argue.

- Lying to my Freach teacher. She actually decided she would not teach me because of that and thus I spent two months reading strategy guides in her class in one of the comfortable chairs in the back. What was the lie? I said I needed to get something from my looker and after I went, I made a phone call at the pay phone in the school.

The list goes on

Edit: Just remember and this is the universal worst rule of school up until (and sometimes including) college; eighty to ninety percent of what you learn is absolutely worthless to you in a vast majority of real life situations and most of it will long be forgotten because you are never required to use it.

And then they wonder why kids never want to pay attention. :p

Oh yes, of course. I've got a feeling whatever example I give will develop a similar response.

Communism has been tried and doesn't work. Even if its never truly happened, that proves still that it doesn't work. Its been attempted after all, but if its never fully realised one would consider there to be flaws within the theory.

And why the hell would you want to be equal to everyone else? There's no such thing, nor will there be.

Oh and a nitpick here but in Communism everything is run/owned by the state.

Does Cuba count as a communist country? I know that it is technically defined as a socialist state, but I'm just curious.

Not entirely sure. Socialism can be seen as a pre-cursor to Communism though.
