My English professor's daughter's school banned Brave New World because someone got upset about the pilgrims calling the Native Americans "savages."

Historical Accuracy. It's kind of important. And until you develop a time machine to travel back to the 1660s to tell the pilgrims to not call Native Americans "savages," I'm labeling you as an imbecile.

Marijuana. It began with a timber tycoon wanting to get rid of hemp because of its extremely useful applications in building. Seriously, hemp walls are amazing; they're extremely strong, they can literally be cut into any shape which saves laying bricks and gives great structural integrity, they're carbon-negative and the plant can proliferate under pretty much any conditions.

Also, THC is a friendly compound. Not that growing hemp can be used as a cover for pot plants; cross-pollination will make that extremely non-viable.

Two things from my high school.

Yugioh cards were banned because one person made claims that his deck was stolen. A few of us put together some of our cards to remake his stolen deck in order to get the ban lifted. Turns out his cards weren't stolen... he just left them at home. Ban was lifted after one day.

The anime club at the school was shut down because some jerk was looking at hentai porn on his computer when his mom walked in on him. His reason? Blame it on someone else!

On my highschool, smoking wasn't allowed on school grounds. So everyone took 1 step outside of the fence and smoked. Pretty damn stupid if you ask me.

Ever heard of "Passive Smoking"? I think that's the real reason for this "stupid" ban, personally I gag whenever I inhale cigarette smoke, I doubt I'm the only one who finds it utterly disgusting.

Yea, I found out I had asthma at 5 when I walked past some ass smoking in front of Wal-Mart. I was in the hospital for two days, but it's cool. Also, you can't buy or consume tobacco until you are 18. Might that had something to do with it not being allowed on HIGHSCHOOL grounds?

OT- Vending machines/soda/fast food in schools. They did it under the banner of "stop our kids from getting fat". I was not fat, you know why? I ate the fast food, drank a soda, and I got off my ass to exercise.

Ash and Misty were both perpetually 10 years old, until one of the more recent series aged Ash up to a whooping 13 years of age. In any case, if you are remembering right there's no way they actually showed her nude, racier anime then Pokemon use steam to sensor bath scenes.

Yeah, I didn't mean that they actually showed anything. I probably would have remembered that and probably would have been horrified.

They banned BDSM and BDSM porn here in the UK, point of fact they banned all "extreme" porn, sometyimes I worry for my country.

Wearing jeans in all secondary schools in Western Australia was banned. The reason being denim is not work attire and is associated with having a good time and has no place in schools.
